Thank you for bringing us this visit! I enjoy batik and seeing their work was wonderful! How great if there was a book of his portrait pieces. Amazing! I did a piece of batik in high school on a twin sized bed sheet. Now as a quilter I think of quilting it but the colors are dull. I know my needles won't like working with that dreadful sheet as well! In my school art classes I loved pointillism and was delighted to see Beth use that with her batik work. (High school was the late 70s, early 80s for me.)
No I don't think it's an exaggeration to say they are the best batik artists. Exquisite!!! Love the quilt featured in the background, the border is wonderful...wish I had some. ❤ do you know the designer? Or fabric company? Let's welcome 2024...the year of the BATIK.
@kathy bowman -- when I did my batik in high school, I took the piece to the local dry cleaner and they removed all the wax better than I could do with an iron and paper towels and the fabric is soft and has a nice hand now. That was in 1979-1080.
Respect to these amazing artists. Thank you, Ricky!!
Thank you Ricky for introducing us to Jonathan and Beth and their batik.

Press with a brown paper bag between the Batik and the iron. Change paper when it becomes wax covered.
Where do you stay when you go there to Lavita to see the shows especially if they’re very busy?
