I love this expansion because it allows the game to be played with just 2 players, or even solo! That's huge for a game that before this was a minimum of 3 players. It's far easier for me to get this ge to the table now! Plus, I think the way they integrated the Boeg with this expansion is sooooo thematic! I love it👍😁
When I first started whatching star trek when I was very little I only liked the Romulans, then I discovered the borg and loved em, then also the dominion. So my most favorite in all of star trek would be 1 Borg 2 Dominion 3 Romulans.
Thanks for the honest assessment and also thanks for introducing me to describes my gaming disorder - completion - very troublesome for ones financial health.
It speaks to its quality of the core game and other great expansions that it is able to withstand a mediocre expansion. It is playable, but like you implied, it needs a lil more time in the oven.
The Borg Expansion is the weakest of the expansions. Still worth getting but the Borg seem to come off weaker than they are in the series. There are sneaky ways you can beat them or take advantage of rules (such as stacking ships at warp nodes to block them/slow them down). Also when you get the tech upgrades, they start to get easier.
@@jamielehn6926 Yeah, great game. I just played a nearly eight hour game the other day. Would have been a lot shorter but we had a guy with serious AP.

Good points.
The best of both worlds is possibly the best episode of a science fiction TV series - fullstop.
Could be. The first episode certainly. I always felt like they kind of dropped the ball with the conclusion.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer 😮 I loved it! lol. But when it comes to Sci Fi these days / the expanse hits it out of the park!
@@jamielehn6926 Can't agree with you more on The Expanse. Great show!

What is this song haha. I love it but cannot find it anywhere

You have the best “bad” puns on the Internet. “You and I are of a kind. In a different reality, I could have called you friend.”
Ha! Thank you, sir.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer No thank you brother! You’re an ornament of our hobby and American Civilization. Glad you’re still making content.
@@johntessier8064 Hi praise, sir. Thank you. I promise to fight the Balance of Terror in board game reviewing. ;)
You love Star trek Ascendency!
Why so much?
It's a great civilization game that does not take too long to play, has a great theme, and some really fun mechanics.
Am I right in saying this adds a solo mode?
Yes, but I have not played it.
Solo! Oh my. Now it’s worth buying the game. ❤️
This is the expansion that allows you to play the game solo right?
I believe you can play it solo.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer dang, I’m gonna have to do more research on the game based on your review. I really like a lot of things from it.

Agreed.
I really liked Ascendancy- but it took more like 6-7 hours. Is that just because it was our first game?
I don't think I've every played a game that long. How many players did you have?
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer three (one with AP) plus learning curve, it didn’t seem like that long. I really enjoyed it.
