    The Polaris Slingshot battery is located on the left rear side of the vehicle and isn't exactly what we'd call conveniently accessible. If you get stuck on the road with a dead battery and don't have a T40 Torx wrench handy to loosen the bolts holding the plastic battery cover in place, you won't be able to jump start your Slingshot. Our Battery Jump Start Port Kit eliminates this problem by allowing you to have both a (+) & (-) battery poles behind the seat of your Slingshot for easy access.
    There are other kits like this on the market, but not all kits are created equal. Our kit features much higher quality components than the other kits we've tested. The jumper posts we use are U.S.A. sourced solid brass / copper, including the posts and bolts themselves. The wires we use are also made in the U.S.A. and are true 100% 4 AWG copper, rather than the chinese under-sized copper clad aluminum wire you'll find in other kits. In addition, our wires are 16" in length which allows you enough room to install the jump ports behind the seat or inside the rear luggage compartment. We include a FREE 1 1/4" hole saw bit that will be used to drill the post holes. Lastly, we use full coverage rubber (not plastic) boots to keep the posts protected from the elements.

    Hey Joe. Question. I'm guessing the charging ports are behind the seat now? Can you place pics ? You didn't show where to hook the battery up on the finished product.

      Hello DJ, here's a pic of what the ports look like from inside the cabin: www.slingmods.com/image/catalog/tricled/polaris-slingshot-battery-jump-ports.jpg

      @@Slingmods Thanks for the quick response and pic. Another question. From looking at the pic, could you have reversed the terminal so you could raise the seat and charge it from the inside ? This way you don't have to do take off the panel which could make it safer and tool less. Just asking.

      I'm sorry. That is the inside. 🤣

      @@djrekklessdmv8757 Yeah.. that's the inside. haha. Just make sure you always keep the caps on the terminals when not in use so that the terminals are not exposed. 👍

    This is great, something that is needed. If you have ever had to jump your slingshot battery (and I have), you know what I'm talking about. Thanks guys!

      +SJFTV You bet SJ....I accidentally drained my battery once too. This makes it so much easier. :) Thanks for watching!

    Just installed these on my 20016 SL LE. The video says it won't fit on models newer than 2015. but it seems to work fine. The battery bracket is different (I just bent mine out of the way, then bent it back to were it was originally) and you have to ditch the OME washer that is on the battery terminal posts so the screw is long enough to hit the nut, but otherwise about the same install as described above.

      Thanks for the post Todd. You're correct, this video does indeed need to be updated to reflect newer models as we now include the appropriate hardware for the newer Slingshot model batteries.

    Holy crap.... Great DIY Joe from Slingmods. I had know idea how hard it would be to jump start a Slingshot, "Good work Polaris."

    Will this still work fine with the battery upgrade from the other video?

    • @Slingmods
      @Slingmods  7 років тому

      Hello Steve, yes it will work with the battery upgrade.. however it is a tighter fit because the terminals sit a bit higher.

      Thx for the feedback MMST. If you were to say leave your stereo running too long in ignition mode, etc.

      @n8mike 7 років тому

      Slingmods I still don't see how that could happen I leave my car stereo on on my super duty and it doesn't happen and I have yellow tops if you're going to run a bigger stereo system then put in 2 batteries

      Slingmods I think really what the jumpers are for is people who are just stupid and can't think ahead or plan ahead. i used to run big car stereo systems when I was younger and I never one time killed a battery I don't see how a Polaris Slingshot could possibly kill a yellow top. just put in another battery.

      MMST, We do highly recommend swapping out the factory battery for an optima deep cycle battery. We even make a conversion kit to do so. The factory battery has been notorious in the 15' and 16' models for not lasting very long. We sell an enormous amount of aftermarket lighting products and with our aftermarket fuse block or Neutrino Black Box we allow you to run those lighting accessories with the ignition off.
      We've had several customer leave on underglows, etc. overnight and kill their factory battery. It happens. We simply sell this product along with the cyntur to help our customers from getting stranded in those scenarios.
