    Yeah, that's one thing I dislike about these vehicles is interior space

    Tall s2000 owner here also, I first installed the bys lower seat rail. Lowered me nicely BUT it threw the lumbar support way off and killed my back after five minutes of driving. No good. I bought a jersey red PP for my red s2k. Works awesome! Lowered my seat a ton plus now I can drive my car for more than 10 miles before wanting to jump out hahah. No more back pain. I used the buddy club seat rails and boy was it a pain in the ass to get it lined up right. It’s still not right.

    Thanks for posting this - I'm 6'4" and looking to do basically the same thing. I don't (at least haven't yet) track the car but just fitting a little better would be huge. If I sit up straight my hair just touches the soft top with the factory seats so an inch or two lower would be fantastic.

    If the Recaro PP height is still a problem, an easy solution would be to add your own spacer underneath the rails to slightly raise it in the rear. Thus allowing you to mount the seat at the lowest position and utilize the entirety of the seat's height savings.

    • @NAUS2K
      @NAUS2K  5 років тому

      Kyle Heidelbach yes I have thought about that. I was debating stacking some fender washers under it until I could just make it clear, however that may change the angle of the seat slightly too. I have been happy with the seat so far and haven't really put more time to make it lower, but I'd like the try!

    You make a good argument for keeping the original seats in the car if you don't need the extra head space. That is a lot more work than I thought. It'll be worth my while to recondition the leather seats in my 2004 S2000 instead when they wear out too much. My driver's seat is starting to show wear on the left side bolster.

      If you do any kind of racing or track days with your s2000 I think one of these racing bucket seats is absolutely the best mod. Stock seats suck at keeping you in place on track

      100% correct. I tried oem seats at Willow once in my 04. Had to hold myself in with left leg against door and right knee against center console, when I could. I installed a Sparco Sprint and made a world of difference. I could concentrate on driving. The seat lowered my lap times. The 04 was totaled by a truck on the freeway. Now have and 05 and looking seriously at these.

    Nice videos Naus, btw I had my PP set up same way on BC rails.. until I went to a s2k track event and looked at others and noticed they were able to put the rear on 2nd setting. Yes you're right it does limit movement front and rear on sliders, but I'm pretty sure for your height you can get away with the 2nd setting and slide seat back far enough. I hate adjusting the seat, but after a long drive, my lower back hurt. And what I realized is the angle was too flat. So by me lowering the back to the second setting, it tilted the seat back alleviating lower back pressure. Helps with the long drives.

    • @NAUS2K
      @NAUS2K  6 років тому +1

      D Hwin if I went to the second slot in the rear the seat wouldn't slide at all, no matter how hard I tried as it was smashed into the floor. I usually slide it forward when I race autox , so having it slide easy was a must have for me

    • @dhwin5709
      @dhwin5709 6 років тому

      NAUS I hear ya. Let me take some photos for you. The limitation would be moving it backwards, I can still slide forwards no problem. I'm 6'0" and I'm able to slide it back just far enough for daily driving, and I can move it forward with no issues.

    here's a suggestion you might be interested in. I don't know how desperate you want to get that seat to drop lower but for your new seat find out exactly the Outer Perimeter of the butt pan of the new seat that sets on the floor and cut the carpet and the sound deadener insulation and set it right on the actual floor pan of the car that will give you damn near three quarters of an inch and believe me three quarters of an inch will make a huge difference. The best news is if you do a good clean job nobody will ever see it...
    and also who cares if it slides forth and back. Are you going to be letting a bunch of people drive your car that they need to adjust the seat? bolt that sucker down for you and only you

      yep I would consider that too if I was height-challenged...turns out my average 5'-10" height is actually a blessing in this extremely rare instance hahahahah.
      Anyways, to answer your question: I noticed he mentioned (in a reply to a different comment) that his seat installation choices / design *must* accommodate not only himself, but also his significant other who also shares in the enjoyment of the car, and presumably drives it just as often or at least enough to be a legitimate issue. (apparently)
      A MUCH better man than me I guess, but hell I'm not ashamed. This is one of those prized possessions where basically, as far as I'm concerned: "You are l u c k y to even be invited to merely gaze upon or even sit in the car -- much less *RIDE* in it -- I mean, you're lucky I didn't charge you an Admission Fee straight up - seriously. Now, shut yo' ass up! It was great. You loved it.
      ...AND WATCH MY PAINT AND CARPET BRUH WITH THOSE MUDDY-ASS, DUSTY-ASS, CRUSTY-ASS, POOR-EXCUSE FOR SHOES YOU GOT ON - FUCKIN' CRETAN!
      Now getchyo' ass out. You should be grateful to simply have had the privilege...now, fill this thang up with Premium and I'll consider letting you wash it for your next Birthday....Bitch."
      😉😏
      That's kinda where I stand more or less on the issue, personally. Probably also why I'm single. 🤣🤣🤣

    Thanks for the video. I have a Pole Position NG on the way for my 01 Integra Type R and have some Sparco side mounts, rails and bracket I will attempt to use. I think the spacers are meant for the 2 rear bolts that mount the side mount to the bucket. The PP is wider in the front than most seats (430mm vs 395mm). My Sparco side mounts are one piece instead of two and are designed for 395mm wide seats (like Recaro Profi SPG and Zeta III) so that will be my challenge. I may have to drill or widen the holes to make it work. As for seat belt receivers I read that Mazda 626 rear receivers work for S2K. Indeed they do and are the same size for my DC2. Strange but Nissan Pathfinder rears also work so I grabbed one along with a spare DC2 drivers receiver so I can plug it in and not have a light on the dash. Both 626 and Pathfinder receivers have "526" embossed on the back side. Just trying a different way instead of purchasing an extender.Cheers

    how much room do you have to the top if it is closed above your head? For me the roll bar thing is not to important since i mainly drive back roads and street. Seat slide ability is not an issue for me so i could go down one notch in the back and install an aftermarket steering wheel. and possibly take the cushion out. since i am 2 inches taller than you, so i need about one inch more headroom than you. can you sit with the helmet in the car and the top closed?
