Do you think hydrogen peroxide works better than isopropyl alcohol on fungus? I have been working on several Olympus OM lenses and it is hard to know if the remaining contamination is dry fungus that persists or etching in the glass. I didn't think to try lighter fluid but I don't think this is oil particulates.
Hello friend! Great job! I have a ees-2 olympus pen with fungus on lens, I would send it from Brazil and pay for your service to clean it, but is it somehow possible? I don’t have the tools do to it by myself. Thanks in advance
Hey Mike, I just removed the back lens, but I didn’t find the brass spacer. Do you think it’s possible for a lens to not have a spacer? Or did someone already disassemble it and lose the spacer?
Well, as I mention in the video, there is not necessarily a spacer in your lens. It depence how the lens is put together and good it is focusing when they test it on the Colimator.
Thank you, Mike, this is really helpful! I just have one more question: there is fungus between the lenses of the back group. Is it possible to disassemble it to remove the fungus? Thank you!
It's possible to unscrew the back retaining ring in order to get into the most back lens. But REMEMBER to set a small alignment and also an ARROW mark with a pencil on the side of the lens element, so you will know how the lens is facing and where is the correct place.
Hello Mike.
Do you have instructions how to make total CLA for old m-summicron 90 v1?
Can you help me out with that same lens group? I need to separate the two because of balsam separation.
Please and Thank You.
