That guitar looked pretty clean before the procedure. You guys could have used a well played one. Also, I found it hilarious the fact that this guy sounded "surprised" when he "found" a loose component on the guitar.
The tightening of screws is great lesson. Even if it seems like a no-brainer to us veterans, the newbs can still use this information. Should've also addressed the loose input jack nut since that's a common problem too. Still looking for a good way to clean gloss finished maple fretboard since you can't use abrasives on it. Good video. Don't be afraid to work on your own instrument, friends.
Fender: "Clean your guitar to make it look like brand new!" Also Fender: "Here's a $4K custom shop guitar that looks like it was dragged behind a car on the highway for 100 miles. Oh, you want a new looking one? Too bad!"
RIGHT! That’s like erosion! Imagine using those pliers on that same whatever material he was using them on after a few times! It would eventually look like shit! …This video is sponsored by Fender? 😆
Hey guys! lets unscrew some screws and make a video out of it lol jk.

@AnticommentWarrior Not only that - they cut the most important part out: how to correctly remove your guitar strings in the first place! And I always thought that changing your strings one by one is the best idea to not mess up the tension of your neck unless you want to readjust through the truss rod and check your whole intonation afterward..
@ removing the strings is a separate video on this channel. people look up string change tutorials for other reasons than cleaning as well, so no need to put both tutorials in one video.
I would not spray the cleaner over the guitar, but rather, spritz the cloth. This helps prevent moisture from getting into places it ought not get, like the jack and the selector switch. Also, what everyone else said about using pliers to tighten the tuners. That made me cringe! Use a wrench or a socket!
Each time I finish playing, I use an old tee shirt and wipe down the neck and guitar. I also spray the cloth not the guitar.... On my maple neck I use Dr Duck ax wax . On my rosewood same
Nothing about cleaning the grime that builds up right against the frets, around the pickup's and bridge or protecting the chrome parts from corrosion. Of course that guitar was way to clean already to worry about it. Come clean my Strat and it could have been a 20+ minute video and more informative. Expected much more from Fender. ️️🎸️🎸🎸️🎸️🎸️🎸️🎸️🎸️🎸️🎸️🎸️🎸️🎸️🎸️🎸️🎸️🎸️🎸️🎸️🎸
I find this entire video surprisingly low quality and non-informative of anything to do with cleaning guitars. Very little information or detail. No insight. Questionable methods. I’ve never disliked a video before, but this could be the first...
looks like the video was exported with the wrong black level or color space pliers are not acceptable for tightening the tuning machines... it's too easy to dent the nuts with them and also too easy to damage the finish... didn't expect that from Fender
Great video! I was always on the fence about taking all of the strings out at once, because some people think it's bad for the neck, but now I'll feel more confident about it.
No, there'll be no problem taking of the whole Strings. I restring my guitars between 6 and 8 weeks. For cleaning the fretboard, I be using soapwater and an old toothbrush for the frets. After drying I'm using liquid wax for the complete guitar. Stay tuned and shine on
sorry, Being a German native speaker I just heard "spritz" for the very first time in English.🤭 it sounds so funny when you English-speaking folks use it.😁
I am looking for a review of the Showcase strat. If you send one out to me I'll damn sure review it. Hahahahaha. Peace! I love fender. I cannot deny it. Heheheh squier, Fender MIM, and USA ..Sadly I have not had the chance to try a USA.
Why on almost every video that shows someone working on a guitar and when they get to tightening up a tuning peg they almost always us a pair of pliers and not the correct size wrench!?! Unbelievable!!
Na I dig the wear on my guitar. Plus dont you guys charge a left nut for a relic strat lol. All good I'm fender for life. My new player hss is my pride an joy. It plays better than the American standard I had.
Oh Fender ,here's your brand new guitar with some Allen keys included for maintenance, but we don't include a guitar lead ,you will have to pay extra for that.............how petty is that ,an electric guitar without a lead.
Allen wrenches in the case???! Not if you buy a new guitar from Guitar Center East Brunswick. NJ. You get nothing! Not even a box. So if your foolish enough to buy there, bring a gig bag.
That guitar looked pretty clean before the procedure. You guys could have used a well played one.

@Keith Clark I use it on the body but I'm too afraid to use it on the neck. I was afraid it might corrode into the frets!

True. The Custom Shop guitars are an arm and a leg!
Haha
It's called a relic
Sometimes those guitars that look like they’ve “been dragged behind a car on the highway for 100 miles” are the very best of the best 🤷♂️
“Should’ve come with Allen Wrenches... look in your case”
Someone should inform him that Fender sells you guitars without cases... lol
That’s weird mine came with one
Same. Mine didn’t come with Allen wrench lol $850 and no Allen wrench
And leads!
me when he reached for those pliers: "Noooooo!!!!"
RIGHT! That’s like erosion! Imagine using those pliers on that same whatever material he was using them on after a few times! It would eventually look like shit! …This video is sponsored by Fender? 😆
Pliers, dude? Imagine how that nut will look like after a few tightening sessions with the pliers. …Fender, I’m disappointed.
Oh! What do you recommend instead? I just inherited an electric that clearly needs some love, and have no idea what about maintenance.

Tips from fender on cleaning your already clean guitar. Because you're going to be doing that alot after purchase 🤩
i am going to clean my new fender 2 times every day because i can't play yet!!!
@@kevindunleavy9933 lol
that was kinda soothing and meditative for some reason.
You should never turn a chrome nut with a toothed pair of pliers unless you want to scratch it. Use an open end wrench or smooth channel locks.
Spanner wrench.
Each time I finish playing, I use an old tee shirt and wipe down the neck and guitar. I also spray the cloth not the guitar.... On my maple neck I use Dr Duck ax wax . On my rosewood same
Use a 1/4 ratchet and a deep socket to tighten the tuners
Why do I feel like I’m in elementary school listening to this guy
That is a really lovely guitar. I'm not normally drawn to blonde guitars, but there's nothing but pretty going on with this whole thing.
Nice Strat. Fender guitars are the gold standard of electric guitars.
You should also take a moment to really tighten those screws around the pickups, especially on either ends. They are almost always loose. /s
😂
Yeah I did that with mine, thanks for tip!!!!!!
Tell me please, what is the expiration date for guitar quick cleaner?
I have a Made in Mexico Tele. It has a softer nitro lacquer finish. What is best way to clean that and what product is best?
Thanks

idk why but this guy makes me giggle hehe

What modal was that?
Wooow. Thank you. That was sooo complicated 😁😁😁
How did you get the strings removed without removing the back plate ❓ I have to remove the back plate on my 🎸 to remove & put new strings on
what product can i use to clean up the bridge?I got a telecaster and bridge looks nasty, the regular wiping doesn't help, will polish do?
im sorry but i am thoroughly convinced fender rigged this guitar hahaha
Love them beautiful Fenders.
looks like the video was exported with the wrong black level or color space

Hi, could you please recommend a product for cleaning nitrocellulose finish Strat? Thanks!
That action, man
Is that a player series?
Did any of that spray liquid get into the input jack..?
Can I use lemon oil on a finished maple fretboard?
No
Whats the tool you use to hold the neck up?
Can you ruin a hand rubbed poly finish with these polishes? What do you suggest to use on a poly finish? Anyone?

I use Mr. Sheen. :)
Cool but can you show us how to change frets
I have a question when cleaning the guitar can you wipe the pickups or will it move the pole pieces?
Try it and find out!
is it olympic white? or vintage white?
Finger cheese? That sounds delicious yummmy
😅
I’m convinced they gave this dude a guitar with mystery problems and asked him to figure it out for a video

next time, a video of how to clean your heavy relic custom shop guitar
Fender, please bring back the old American Standard Stratocaster.
don't know if you're talking about this particular guitar or not but if you are, its actually a MIM strat that they're using in the video
helpful video..
That guitar looks like Yngwie Malmsteen's. If he was doing this tutorial, he would scallop the fretboard.
I will never remove all of my guitar strings to clean the guitar.
Same 😂
Why not clean the Guitar when you change strings?
I do sometimes. Especially on my brand new guitars.
But what’s the problem?
@@captain_green278 u know.... Hardwork
I have the same guitar😂 its kinda giving me inspiration to watch😂
That's awesome Ryan! How long have you had it?

I like how he didn't even mention what it was he was spraying. There seems to be a lot to what you apply to what guitar.
Why? When i was open your site, i can't push ”register your fender"
Oh!? What do you know these screws I loosened are loose?
Didn't know that Seth Rogen's brother worked for Fender...
Honestly this guy could definitely pull off a mean Jack Black impression I bet.
This is the equivalent of women shaving their legs which are already shaved!
😂😂
I removed my strings. so I can clean my fret but when the time that I'm gonna put my strings again. it can't reach the headstock
I feel like this was a setup! Was the selector switch really loose?.... or did you loosen it before the video......sus
2:32 Pliers? Rarely the correct tool for any job, unless you are trashing it all at the end.
In India due to our ass fcking humid climate, my super slinky strings get rusted and the sound also changes. I use a squire affinity strat

A rock n roll guitar needs to look a little aged and dirty - think of SRV and Rory Gallagher and their strats ......😂😂😂🤘🤘🤘

I took my guitar out of my basement and there was an old marker stain :(

El peor mantenimiento que he visto y es de Fender, oh my god!!
