Most weekend mornings I try to do blue hour photography in the city, with building lights reflecting off the water in the city harbor. I enjoy the peace and stillness and watching the city wake up.
I totally get why you do it in the morning. Somehow, in the evening, there are always people around in the city. Maybe I should try that sometime. Instead of nature, get into the city on a foggy morning. Thanks for watchibg again. Grt guido
Hello Guido, Thank you so much for taking me to this fantastic landscape. The lighting with this fog is a photographer's dream. Your enthusiasm and joy can be seen in every moment. This is a moment where you would like to stop the clock and just enjoy it in peace. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. The pictures are absolutely fantastic. I enjoyed every second of being with you. You have one more subscription! Best wishes, Albert
Hi Albert, welcome toothed channel, and thanks for subscribing! This was a very nice morning, indeed. It's hard not to be enthusiastic when you encounter conditions like this. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does... poeh headless chicken material, haha. Next weeks video is the rest of this morning with some more great images. Thanks for watchibg and your kind words in the comment I really appreciate it. Grt guido
Amazing Guido, really enjoyed this trip seeing you weave your magic in the fog. Even before next weeks video, you have captured some images here that I would be delighted with. Look forward to the next part 👍
I was kind of surprised by the results. I don't do much blue hour photography and especialy that pano was a bit a challengem exposure time was pretty long and the light was increasing rapidly. Thanks for watching. Next epsido might even be better. Grt guido
Thanks for watching. Are you referring to a specific shot in the video? The best light images are in the next part, so it's definitely worth watching next time 🙂 grt guido
It's all about the timing! Beautiful delicate fog in a well thought out composition. It's sometimes hard to get up so early in the morning, on my last excursion I was up all night for days and not sleeping much at all, it took a toll on my wellbeing and energy. I am so happy that your eyes are back on line again. I am getting rested and ready for the road again soon. Awesome sn through the foggy morning. Thanks Guido keep up the great work.
Thanks Mike. I hope the trip was worth it for you. I rarely do multi day trips. I can't even handle sunset and su rise after each other. It's indeed great to have the time to easily look for conpisitions. Thabks for watching grt guido
Hello Guido, i have to go just 500 or 1000 Meters to be in a awesome landscape with some trees, a little bit of fog and sunrise. The evening before i check the wheather forecast and if the conditions for fog are good, i go out in the morning. I don´t have an influence on the clouds. So they can be my fried or enemy. Kind regards Bernd
I do about the same. I've been to a lot of locations about maximum of 20 to 30 minutes around my house. I just look at the forecast and then decide what area suits best with that forecast. Sometimes I have to pass a location to get to what I have in mind. I do have the rule that when it's good I just stop there. I never drive far when there is fog closer to home. Thanks for watching and sharing your experience. Grt guido
I remember that tower Guido! I think you shot that s shaped path from there didnt you? Your eyes must be frustrating you. A bit like a nagging cold that doesnt want to go away.
I've indeed shot an s curved path from that same tower. I deliberately didn't photograph that side today because I wanted something different. Best images are yet to come in the next video. The eyes are almost recovered. Went swimming this weekend and the chlorine hurt way more then normal so swimming with my head above the water haha. Thanks for watching. Still no upgrade on the calendar. Will look in to it when I'm home Tuesday. Grt guido

I do not often photograph in the blue hour because I like to shoot handheld and in this time of the day it is better using a tripod. Last Thursday I was on our storage lake. What a mood! Personally, I actually like blue hour a lot more than golden hour, just something with the added serenity of colder tones as the warmer ones creep up. Loved the minimalist shots, perfectly captured the magic of the morning. But man, 6 degrees 😂 any special autumn plans coming up?
Amazing right. I don't do much in the blue hour, but maybe I should do it more often. Always seem to like those shots. Don't have any autumn plans yet. Hey Guido! The shots you’re showing in this video are absolutely stunning. Props to you for your patience in finding the right spot and perfect moment without rushing. @@GuidoVanDeWater Hi Guido! No…natural, muted, or vivid doesn’t make any difference in raw file. Its only purpose it’s to have different level of preview into the evf, just in order to get a wider or narrower dynamic range, to make a better exposition. But ONLY about the preview you get into the lcd panel or into the evf. For this reason I’m used to use MUTED profile with alla values down to -2. In this way I can get a more flattened preview into the evf and make a more realistic exposure. But the raw files wan’t be touched by those profiles.
@@GuidoVanDeWater I mean that those profiles only helps you to make a proper exposure. For that reason I always lower all three values to -2 (contrast, saturation and sharpness) of the MUTED profile, in order to get a flattened exposure and make my life easier when post processing the raw file.
