Both Great! The CE-5 is very Transparently Crystal Clear so it handles Distortion better without being muddy.

I have both, early 90s analog versions too - I think the CE-5 is a much more organic sounding pedal that's good for adding subtle depth and movement to a sound without it being entirely obvious that there's an effect on the sound, but the CH-1 is brighter and sharper sounding where the effect cuts through the overall sound with a bit more authority - more processed and "effect" like - but not in a bad way. I like them both, for different purposes.

I have both these pedals. I love em both! I like a very rich swirly chorus sound and I can easily get it with either the CE-5 or CH-1.

yeah with a blindfold I'd probably be hard pressed to be able to tell one from the other... I'd be perfectly happy with either one.

The first chorus pedal was more chimier with a more vibrant feel to it;and the ch-1 has more clarity and depth to it. So far it’s ch-1 the winner to me. Nice guitar riffs and demo. Have you tried the ways craft chorus yet? Thanks!!

I tried both of these out today the super chorus was a very easy decision. The chorus ensemble just had too subtle a modulation.

Jamie MacMillan yeah you have to have the depth nearly all the way up! I like it though it’s that classic 80’s chorus sound. The super chorus for me was too much.

I love the CE 5 and I was actually doing a shoutout myself of a Super Chorus which I didn't get which model it was and I totally prefer the Chorus ensemble because it is more versatile and you can notice the effect more which is what I want for a more holdsworthy tone. I had to get one so I could control the rate because with my me 25 I could not change the rate of the patches with pedals and I wanted to get different chorus sounds. The CE 5 has more controls than some chorus pedals I looked at and I digital better than analog chorus pedals.

Thanks for your demo, I have owned both pedals in then past. The CH1 offers a very defined chorus great for metal and clean stuff, it cuts through fine it applies the chorus effect to the midrange and high frequencies and cuts the lows something that is often desired for a defined sound. The CE5 has a wider chorus range in terms of Rate it can do faster speeds, the depth is the same in both, the added lo and hi cut filters give it more tonal power, you can define the chorus effect for a warmer vintage like or modern tone,. Both are great but i would go for the CE5 if you can get your hands on a green label mij you are set.

Of these two, I prefer the CE-5, though I think the MXR Analog Chorus is more 'musical', whatever that means!

The problem with mxr analog chorus is when it's bypassed. It sucks tone a lot. It's impossible to use it when this pedal is bypassed in the signal chain, even with a fancy good buffer before it. A looper or switcher solves it, so you don't need to get it sucking your tone all the time.

Best was BOTH ON! :) The CE-5 is better. More control. It may not sound that way at first because tone controls at noon not= flat: it cuts highs & lows. - & How can it be "too rich?" you can turn down depth, and mix. (level.) & back down tone controls.
- The CE-5 IS rich, but can be made less so if desired. - - - Anyway, good video. Thank you. :)

Great vid. To me, the CH1 sounds way better, much cleaner and crisp. The tone was enhanced beautifully. The CE5 lost its level and sounded padded, loss of tone too.
Just my opinion :)

3:17 when you use the pedal set like that it sounds very dimensional like the other chorus pedals but yes I agree I have this pedal and I can only do so much with it I don’t mind looping another effects pedal to it but it will only do so much I still believe that there is use for it 😇

both because of the tone control, although the CE5 has more options because highs and lows are separated in a concentric knob, I have all boss choruses except for the CE1 so I can tell. Whatever your choice these are decent units being the CE20 the most complete. Good luck and enjoy...

I would not reccomend nano clone. True bypass causes non pleasant sound on this pedal. Also, to be BBD, I dont find it as organic as a boss ce1 or ibanez cs9
