    Matt,
Thanks for my mid winter fishing fix. We had a few 50/60 degree days last week and I was not able to get out due to family constraints. Now it is 13 degrees water including the river is getting hard and we are due to get 6 inches of snow tonight. The January thaw is over and winter is making a comeback. I look forward to froggin weather, I no longer use the phrase “it is too hot” Etc no such thing. The last 2 fish looked like twins, nice healthy and chubby. I hope you have lots of summertime video footage on the shelf. I like your hard water videos too.

Awesome. You Sir make it look too easy (as you often do!) Those of us who grind for hour upon hour, day after day trying to catch a decent fish know that this is a dream session. For anglers new to the game who might think that they can expect this kind of action every day on the water, I'm afraid you are in for a rude awakening. Lots of people take up fishing with grand expectations after watching action like this, but quickly give up disillusioned with lack of results. I know there are years of experience and knowledge gone into those 10 mins and 5 secs of action, and it wasn't by accident that Matt was in the right place at the right time doing the right things. If you are new to fishing or getting discouraged by lack of results, give yourself some more realistic goals. Enjoy watching Matt (or other great fishermen) catch beasts cast after cast but don't think that you should measure your own success by that lofty standard. 👍
