It can happen in Jamaica too, but it's more prevalent in Ghana. Unfortunately, this host doesn't seem to research his guests, or he just can't know who's who. I would add anyone mixing religion with business is a red flag. Daniel Kiing claims to be from Hanover in Jamaica, raised in the UK, and now in Ghana. Very sad case.

By outsourcing to Ghana, companies can tap into the country's young and educated population, with over 14 million labour force and a very good literacy rate.

The property market is a bubble in Ghana and will eventually crash. Those hugely over inflated house prices are not sustainable and eventually they would have no choice but to lower the house prices otherwise they are going to find it really difficult to sell those houses. Another thing is Ghana should be for Ghanaians. Ghanaians should be able to buy their own homes, but it seems the property market in Ghana is focused only on foreigners and that is not right at all.
To your guest..... I must respectfully disagree with her assertion that simply because ghana is a cash society that means they can't create a bubble. This is totally incorrect, if you study Financial history you will understand that the tulip bubble in the 1700s. They did not use credit. The bubble had nothing to do with credit and has all to do with inflation and the overvalue of assets. Particularly homes and land. When anything is overvalued there has to be a market correction to stabilize the actual value back to its normal state. This is called a reset and when a bubble bursts. It can happen with cash credit. The key is understanding economics in which I hold a Masters degree in Business economics. I've worked in Corporate America in the US for 15 years. I've studied real estate for the past 30 years in which I have been an investor . I own several properties in Florida particularly Miami West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale. So I must respectfully disagree and hope that you will research this information carefully before you make that assertion again. A bubble can definitely happen in a cash society and this is exactly what diaspora paying 1000% of the building costs for a property will do. It's unsubstanable. So just be cautious. I hope that we can meet one day and discuss this over lunch. I would love to have the debate. I just received my Ghanaian citizenship so I will be back in March and if you're ever in Miami I have a Airbnb that's available for your stay.

Florida’s real estate during the Covid days resembles what’s happening in Ghana right now. An outright cash payment of real estate. That’s created the bubble we are seeing in Florida right now. It’ll crash at some point bc it’s simply not sustainable. The rate of of the retirees buying in cash will go down in due time. This lady (no offense) is throwing out subjective ideas but fails to realize that this so called cash economy she keeps referencing WILL NOT LAST FOREVER. This real estate craze in Ghana will eventually crash!! It’s bound to happen and that’s a FACT! Most Ghanaians simply can’t and won’t be able to buy these overpriced homes. Could be wayyyy more. Just recently bought a waterfront property worth close to $1M USD. Paid realtor 3% and now lawyer is asking for ~1-3%. Madness!!! Buyers please be very careful. Of course you need the assistance of lawyers & realtors but I’ve said and will continue to say, the non-existent standardization of everything is a massive problem as well here in Ghana.
