    The emphasis on character is extremely important. I've always reserved the so called "10" designation for women of high moral character and integrity. I don't care how fine a woman is. She can't be a "10" unless the character is on point. Thanks for this.

    I just like what I like, damn a standard. Between 5' and 5'4", in shape, flared hips-round butt, slim shoulders and waist, C-D cup breast, clear even toned skin (shade don't matter, dark to light), long and thick natural hair and texture don't matter as long as it's well kept, slim hands and feet, soft voice, full lips, straight teeth and beady eyes. If she has a those things going on, I'm heavily attracted and the wife fits them all, I'm blessed.

      @@ChezCharde - I'm extremely lucky, I compromised none of that for my wife, she has all those features. But if she were slightly off of those, I would've still felt the same way. I am only truly attracted to black women though, other race women only look attractive to me when they have black looking features, like if I were to look at a white woman I think Italians are better looking than British for example or SE Asians are more attractive than Koreans as another. I have very afrocentric tastes and I'm not alone, BW don't seem to understand that about many of us BM.

    Thank you for the video. However, I don't think this fully answered the question and I don't think it addresses my original assertion, which is that black woman don't want a clearly defined and agreed upon black standard of beauty, certainly not the way they readily will accept the eurocentric standard of beauty and use it as a reason as to why they aren't seen as attractive. Once the standard is no longer nebulous and clearly defined, the simple truth is a lot of sisters won't adhere to said standard and they know it. That's why they'll never accept it, even after others and most recently your video, have laid out what it is.

    • @ChezCharde
      @ChezCharde  3 роки тому +5

      I think also that we are addressing two different things. Your assertion is that Black Women don't want a standard, fair. But the purpose of this video is to clarify that a Standard DOES INDEED EXIST AND IT ALWAYS HAS. So were talking about two different things I think. Now if a person chooses to deny or oppose a set standard ( as you believe is the case), that is up to them, but my point was to establish that fact that we can not act as if standards have never existed for Black Women or Black People. If there is a Eurocentric Beauty Standards, There is ALSO an Afrocentric Beauty Standard. The purpose of this video was to define two things. That the Black Beauty Standard DOES exist AND what the Black Beauty Standard is. Now how some women decide to handle this information is up to them.

      @@detailkingswest5531 That's only true for people on the middle or average. Women who are in the upper third aka 8, 9, & 10 are attractive everywhere to everyone, in the aggregate. The same is true for the women the lower third, aka 1,2,3. Its also universally agreed about that those women aren't attractive. Where the argument starts is those in the middle third. There's arguments to be made between say a 5 or 6 or a 4 or 5. No one confuses an 8, for example, for a 4. Beauty, has scientific component to it. Generally speaking, large bressts, wide hips, and clear skin are universal signs of beauty across all races because those are general signs of fertility and good genes and men subconsciously seek those triats as a part of our survival programing. Women generally, choose height and build on men for the same reasons.

    Also, I think black women should try being more natural. Weaves, bbl's, make up, plastic surgery... that ain't it in my book.
    When you see a sista with just the fro or any natural styling, lip gloss, and a relaxed dress! I melt lol.
    I dont no why women don't believe us but more does not translate to better, often just being your uninhibited self is all it takes. Stand up brothers appreciate real, confident beauty.
    Ion gaf about dark circles, uneven nails, stretch marks, love handles, etc. Its about the total package for me. Everyone has flaws generally, and a lot of times those little flaws are appreciated because it's still a part of what makes you unique!
    There was this one woman at a place I used to work at and she wasn't conventionally attractive. Short, a lil pudgy, but man everything about her was so authentic. If I weren't in a relationship at the time, she'd have caught a couple shots from me!

Black Women used to have manners,Self Respect.Kind and Warm hearted.Lady like with a Splash of Regalness.But Today's Time everything is strictly based on esthetics.But You know multiple things can be True at the same time.Eurocentric beauty standards seemed to come from an Assembly line.Where as Afrocentric Beauty standards are more abstract and customary.Therefore plump Women were definitely celebrated in the days of antiquity.So Big Mama's are nothing new under the Sun.But in the corporate environments it's more European based.But every social circle has it's Functions.

Forget about the color of her skin -- majority of men will gladly settle down with a "fit, feminine, friendly," women and the darkness of her skin is less important compared to the other factors. I like your video, but I will have to agree with somebody else who said it’s not really talking about beauty standards within the black community. You’re adding in some aspects of characteristics like personality and self-esteem, which don’t have any place within beauty standards. The level of confidence can have some factor into it, but it’s not really something that is a part of beauty standards.When you are standing in a crowded room and you’re just taking in peoples faces you have no idea about their personality. So I don’t think personality has anything to do with it, nor does self-esteem have anything to do with beauty standards either. I think it’s all about attitude and physical appearance. And I will say that I have to agree with the Kevin guy, because if any woman does pull out their pictures of their family members from just after slavery let’s say too up to 1950, there is a thinness those women were not big at all. Black women only just started getting to be overweight or obese after 1950, and that’s because of the kind of food that is made affordable to Black people. So long story short I don’t think that the beauty standard is defined, when people throw in personality they’re only just trying to cover up that they don’t fit any beauty standard themselves or that they don’t really know what is beautiful. Not all black women are going to wear braids in their hair, not all black Women are going to be Amazonish and tall. Not all black women are going to be extremely dark skin, not all black women are going to be extremely light skinned either, not all black women are going to have the same types of clothing. So in essence I’ll give you guys a rundown of what I think is beautiful. Every black woman should strive to have full lips a straight nose almond shaped eyes are kitty cat eyes, natural hair, and they shouldn’t be too tall nor should they be like really short, and they need to be in decent proportion to their height versus their actual measurements. So Innoway take your height divided by two and then subtract five and that is where you should actually be if you are smaller than that then you’re too small if you’re bigger than that then you’re too big. I go by the body measurements more than I’d go by actual what that scale says. And hair length or hair color should be natural, I don’t believe in putting in extensions to have this long hair, because guess what when it comes out you don’t look like that do you. When you put on make up to contour your face to make you more prettier because you may not be, guess what when it comes off that man is going to see what you really look like, and then black women don’t need to wonder why men cheat on them. Don’t lie about your appearance, my mommy always told me, if you are pretty then it’s always gonna come out, and pretty girls don’t need to do all that stuff to themselves to be more desirable. Kiss guys kiss keep it Super simple.

    • @ChezCharde
      @ChezCharde  2 роки тому

      What I did was provide a historical framework to suggest that BEAUTY STANDARDS actually have been defined historically, especially in traditional African cultures. Physical appearance and personality etc has everything to do with it. Now in America we can argue that those things may not apply. Granted, but it an not be say that a BLACK /AFRICAN beauty standard does no exist because that is simply historically inaccurate. THat was my main point. But nowadays people define beauty however they want to.
