He closes university and opens prison cells. If anyone tries to create job opportunities for people to work, they prevent you from opening one . All wealthy Eritreans leave the country and created jobs for others in different parts of the world but not in Eritrea. we are not even allowed to build a new house or high ranking buildings. I could be wrong but isn't this the former hotel We called it TTU) that was a resort run by the US all those years the US Military was at Kagnew Station in Asmara. It looks like it because I stayed there dozens of times during the 16 months I was there in 1972 and 1973. I loved being in Eritrea even though before the war we called it Ethiopia. I was there when Hallie Selassie was still in power. Massawa is beautiful but I loved Asmara so much more. We used to spend days at a time on the beach where the sand was so hot we would have to wet our feet and run for the water. I do miss it and it's sad what war and corrupt Government has done to it. Some people get upset when they talk about how the Americans took advantage of the citizens for our own benefit. I was just an 20 year old kid when I was there and had no idea I was hurting anyone and if I was I am so sorry. I married a beautiful girl from there and we have a son who's 45 now and has returned several time to visit his Grandparents while they were living. I know he wants to return again but sometimes I wonder how safe he would be.

Eritrea is beautiful, it is sad the government ruined the country and most of the young generation are driven out of the country to Europe and North America.I was out when I was 16, now I am 31. For 15 years, I couldn’t go back to my beloved country.

Eritreans in their own country are not allowed to move around. The old dictator isaias and his old cronies made the country a big prison cell. Sad really because I wonder if the dictator Isaias has any heart. He is very cruel being.
Because it's painfully hot in Massawa. That's why I never enjoyed my visits there very much despite the people and the beauty. Everyone who has the luxury to choose rather stay inside until the evening comes.

I could be wrong but isn't this the former hotel We called it TTU) that was a resort run by the US all those years the US Military was at Kagnew Station in Asmara. It looks like it because I stayed there dozens of times during the 16 months I was there in 1972 and 1973. I loved being in Eritrea even though before the war we called it Ethiopia. I was there when Hallie Selassie was still in power. Massawa is beautiful but I loved Asmara so much more. We used to spend days at a time on the beach where the sand was so hot we would have to wet our feet and run for the water. I do miss it and it's sad what war and corrupt Government has done to it. Some people get upset when they talk about how the Americans took advantage of the citizens for our own benefit. I was just an 20 year old kid when I was there and had no idea I was hurting anyone and if I was I am so sorry. I married a beautiful girl from there and we have a son who's 45 now and has returned several time to visit his Grandparents while they were living. I know he wants to return again but sometimes I wonder how safe he would be.

Because it's painfully hot in Massawa. That's why I never enjoyed my visits there very much despite the people and the beauty. Everyone who has the luxury to choose rather stay inside until the evening comes.
