Only know one tried and true recipe for Pacific barracuda. Add scallions, olive oil, 1/4 cup of chopped garlic in a frying pan, heat and saute for 3 minues. Throw away the barracuda and eat the frying pan.
I literally just bought the same kayak. I’m fixin to get out to that kelp very soon. The beach launch and landing seems sketchy. I’m. Definitely gonna have to practice that beforehand so I don’t lose any gear in the drink.
Good vid. Enjoyed the visual, the narration, the humor. How far would I have to paddle from Redondo Pier to PV kelp beds? Beach landings intimidate me.
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that area protected (off limits)? But in case I'm wrong...if you can point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated, I'd like to give it go, or maybe even go out with you sometime. Thanks
So I double checked, there's a marine protected area south of where I launched. And that area is a "no take" zone. Plenty of spots north of that zone to fish. Thanks for asking, always helps to follow up.
Hey man. Thanks for the video. I fish right outside King Harbor breakwall in Redondo Beach. Where did you launch from? BTW the first fish was a whitefish.....few of those makes amazing ceviche
thanks man. If you look at it on the map, it's labeled malaga canyon or RAT beach? I've launched from the beach before (fought some waves) and I've launch from the rocks too. Either way it's not the prettiest launch.
Whitefish are called reef bass?

At least 5 miles, better off going to Torrance Beach and put-in there.

New subscriber here! I'll be going to palos verdes this weekend!
U said sharks fuck no id be too scared to go in the water ohhh and i believe legal size for barracuda is 28 inches actually bro but i could be wrong
Where is this located. I scuba PV alot and haven't seen anything this great. Any help is appreciated.
Yeah there's a few walkways down to the kelp forests. It's not the easiest launch, but saves you a mile of paddling from Redondo.
Where did you launch.
I launched by the parking lot of malaga cove school. There's a walkway that leads down and I dropped in from the rocks.

Did you use wire leader for the barracuda?
Nope. Just regular mono line. That could've been why my line snapped once, but I think it was just my crappy knot tying :)
malaga cove
Pencil Cuda in full force, Sucks about the wipe out but happens to everyone. Keep the great videos coming.
Will do. Thanks!
