I liked how Loris was the good friend, always there for Vi, specially on her worst. Yes he gave up on be with Vi during the pitfight arc, but it's fair, since a friend can't solve your family and relationship problems. And then he just died on the war, it was a nice side character, not everyone gets an honorable death.
It was accurate to war. Really emphasized how Arcane is part of a game world. In classic table top wargaming (which is what LOL is inspired by) characters just die by the dozen, never to be heard from again. Think army men, if you played with those as a kid, guys just died. No name, just a number. Reminds me of ReBoot, lots of characters died during the war arc around the giant machine gun. Very symbolic.
It was a good death, it's just nobody cared. His importance to Vi is never acknowledged. She was more affected by Gert's death, a girl she had literally only met hours before. It's a bizarre narrative choice.
I got the impression that he was an Enforcer and was drunk because he lost someone as he asked Vi if she lost someone too in the attack. They were they for each other, and I wished we saw/learned more.
It's always interesting to get a glimpse into the creative process. But I get why they cut this scene. From Episode 1 it is already pretty clear that they spent the night drinking and bonding. This scene just expands on that, without adding much new. Also, this seems to be another wordless music montage (even if a short one), and there are quite a few of these already.
I am very disappointed because I was waiting like crazy to see Vi's "downfall" in this season. In the first one we saw Jinx's and it would be amazing to see this part of vi too because she would "suffer" in her own unique way and the dealing with alcoholism would be very interesting. I heard many of the actors talking about how much of a difficult time she will have in this season. But where is it? We never saw that. We just saw a music video and then what? We barely had any scene with just Vi. And this is so bad because she is an important character too.😢😢😢😢
Sure it was a music video, but all of that shows her struggles, she spent a few months being an alcoholic, having a mental breakdown, hallucinations, even Jinx had a teary eye for her
d@@DefaultDanielSGaming of course it was an amazing music video I loved it! But I personally would have preferred at least one "normal" scene of her and with Loris too❤❤
@@DefaultDanielSGamingthis may be true, but him saving lives in the funeral attack and Caitlyn vouching for him (just like she vouched for Vi) would've changed their minds, especially as he'd be apart of her private infiltration squad rather than The Enforcers proper
On one hand I wish Riot had taken the time to show more story around all the characters and their interactions. The lack of that caused me to feel like the story was rushed.....especially in the second season. However, I do understand that animation done the way that they did Arcane is super expensive. So they made sure to create a story that had just enough information, for us to piece things together, if we paid close enough attention. It turned Arcane into a show that you do no watch with your brain turned off. It took me rewatching many times to catch so many things and I did not catch them all. I only know of them because of others posting the things they caught. I think this style also made the story feel more impactful......once I was able to pull all of these pieces together.
I thought he was going to betray Vi in some point of the series. Thank god he didn’t, his death scene when Vi was immobilized at the floor watching loris death bring me memories of Ellie watching Joel’s death in The last of us part II videogame
he was involved with a lot -being Vi's friend for many months -saving people from the chemtech monsters -cleaning the streets of Zaun from chembarons -training simple people to fight against noxians -fighting the noxians Not everyone has to have a glorious ending, and war is not fair
@DefaultDanielSGaming I not talking about his role in the story or his ending; any other background character can do most of what he did. I'm wondering what purpose exactly did his character serve to the story, especially given the obvious and contrived connection they made between him and Vander
They probably cut the scenes so people weren't being petty towards Loris like they were with Maddie because VI showed interest in someone other than Cait.
@DefaultDanielSGaming true, they did make a lot of weird decisions this season so it could have been just another bad decision that they made so they could trim down on runtime. It is strange though that they tried to paint him as a Vander like influence to VI when I really didn't see any similarities between them except the fact they both cared for VI, just makes me wonder what roll he was really supposed to play in the beginning.
Loris died the same way he came, OUT OF NOWHERE

I also agree that not every death has to be flashy to be good

yeah, makes sense
I will wait 10 years for that interview
I was hurt when he died
He was some kind of sailor, in his right blue jacket sleeve there is what it looks like an anchor
I thought it was an emblem? anyways, interesting idea, I think being a sailor fits

@@katerinaiosifidou7944 that would’ve been cool
I think he might have been fired from the enforcers before Vi met him
I believe they would be reluctant to recruit him if he was fired
@DefaultDanielSGaming well caitlyn is an officer and from a respected house so she most likely accepted him

I am thinking that to myself
Why would he become an enforcer in the special squad if he wasnt an enforcer already?
he was very competent in that fight scene against the chemtech monsters and he already had combat experience, pretty good reasons to hire him
Because Vi liked him and she's the gf of the city's acting dictator.
Nepotism is great lmao.
Robbed
So, nothing.
My old headcanon was he and Vi drunkenly hooked up but he realised she was only trying to get over Caitlyn and slowly started pulling away from her
How? Vi is a lesbian...
What purpose did this man actually serve in the story?😭
he was involved with a lot
-being Vi's friend for many months
-saving people from the chemtech monsters
-cleaning the streets of Zaun from chembarons
