EU economy is in recession, but spending hundreds of billions on Ukraine will end EU, once people of Germany and France will demand exit like Britain did.
Even without Germany EU doesn't make any sense, not talking about other large countries leaving.
A referendum should be held whether the EU citizens want Ukraine to join.
Agreed. I'm voting yes
same@@minotaur818
Right after the referendum to kick Hungary out
Yes it's time to ask Hungary if they are with us or against us if they want to leave then fine they can join the russian federation..
leave and let the rest of us get on with it
Sadly very few actually vote in EU elections so it wouldn’t be representative of the peoples voice.
Article 7 of the EU treaties needs to be invoked. But thanks Poland for blocking that
With their new government... this might actually be possible now. Which is why I'm wondering why thats not on the agenda.
Ukraine is a money sinkhole, Hungary is the only sane in EU
@@jessefisher1809 What would be the reason actually?
@@nyali2 If I had to take a guess, they dont want to push Hungary further into Russia's arms.
not Poland, but Slovakia.
Orban wants money. While unanimous vote required anybody can block anything and ask for ransom. Parallel EU must be created with majority or 2/3 principle, current is broken from the start like UN or NATO..

u mistaken these EU funds are not optional it is based on the membership, but EU comission and parliament using it for its political agenda which is absolutely against all EU values.Yes teher are some problems with Hungary's system which is not quite democratic but those are not the ones the EU is now caliming, so we can see this is just a play otherwise they would go for the real problems like for example the constitutional court of Hungary has no domain on judging economic issues any more since 2014. Now it is 2023 and still not an issue for the EU....
5 wolves and a sheep voting, what is for dinner... that is your democracy in a union with national interests involved. Orban doesn't want money, just like you don't want money from your employer. Hungary has been fulfilling its side of the treaty, Brussels is in breach. Mind you the funds are only 1% of Hungary's GDP (hence Orban doesn't give a toss). Get your facts right, otherwise you will look like a fool... as you do now
Why does the EU want Ukraine to join the EU so badly?
So that Ukraine can survive as a nation. Remaining outside will only mean that Russia will continue to bully it.

Ukraine wants to join the EU.
@@ryancruz1876 I know but that wasn't my question.
It was always a daft idea to allow any single nation to alone veto either EU or NATO decisions. At the very least and probably also, the ability to eject a nation from these groupings would e been sensible. All this was so easily predicted as a possibility.
It wasn't so clear what the eu would turn into at its inception - so I can understand the original decision. But now the veto is just used for blackmail, and it needs to be done away with.
Exactly, and pulling Ukraine into the EU is a very smart idea.
It was a necessary idea or else the union would disintegrate whenever something controversial was approved. The dissenting nations would have no options other than to leave the union rather than state their categorical refusal to agree to an absurd proposal.

Regarding to the 50 billion, which our very democratic politicians wants to play sugar daddy with, and send platinum signals, doesnt the average EU citizen deserve at least some explanation, that on exactly what do Ukrinians want to spend it? Why would they be in a better condition if they continue fighting instead of suing for peace? What do they want to achieve with that sum? Seriously I want to know. If I go to the bank to ask for a loan, they ask me about my business plans and evaluate them.
I don’t blame him for not sending money to the most corrupt country in Europe

Then why is he blocking more sanctions on Russia, a pseudo-country even more corrupt than Ukraine?
That's Hungary.
What about Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Cyprus, Turkey, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia ?
You have to be dense to think that Orban is not on the russian payroll. So if they think they can buy him it is probable, but after he gets the money anything else regarding Ukraine... well you might as well give him the code for the vault. I am sure he is privy to what is in there.

Orban does not want to feed Ukrainian corruption out of the pocket of his people. What does Putin have to do with it? You have a Soviet-collective mindset.
@@maksimpanteleev5104 Orban just pocketed 30 billion euros to go outside while the EU voted. First off you track and see if one euro of that makes it to the people of Hungary.
Part two now that Ukraine and Moldova are being considered because he stepped outside during that vote, let's see how long it takes for Orban to get some tea.
I have another version: Orban is playing the role of a bad cop. In fact, no one wants to give money to Ukraine. Especially before the elections in Germany, where the ruling coalition has very big problems and the right will take advantage of this criticism even more. 2) The status of "negotiations" with Ukraine and the EU does not mean anything. For example, such negotiations have been conducted with Turkey for 20 years. It's a carrot. Ukraine has such problems that it is not even necessary to look for an excuse to stop negotiations. 3) And even Ukrainian corrupt officials do not want to be in the common legal field of the EU. Where you can't buy the police, you can't buy the prosecutor, you can't buy the judge.
I absolutely agree on a referendum. Orban’s calumny should not be allowed to continue .
Orban is too much like Putin
Time for Orban and Hungary to get kicked out of NATO and the EU
Yeah right.
The short-sightedness of Western Europe is astonishing and laughable. The further east a country is, the knowledge and intuition decreases. Here's a recipe - make a note of what's upsetting about Poland as a member of the EU, multiply it by 10 and out comes the deal with Ukraine.
What does Hungary is for EU? Is it possible to kick them out?
No, we're staying 😁
Quite ironically that Hungary, a consumer of so much EU money and netto recipient of EU funding, is blocking the EU spending.
Honestly, I'm fed up with Hungary. I feel that we should rethink whether we want Hungary in the EU. The country blocks every progressive policy in NATO and EU and assists Russia and China in doing so. But western institutions need to develop! I think that commitment is very important within the EU and that Ukraine is a lot more committed than Hungary.
Hungary has a pro-Hungarian government, Germany has a pro-American government, that's the difference.
That's one reason why richer EU countries must stop giving money to poorer countries. Money redistribution never works as intended.
Most eu countries don't want ukraine but they can't publicly show ukraine or Russia this fact.. so hungary is taking the hit for everyone else.... there are a lot of back door behind the scenes negotiations which you are not aware of.
Agree with you.💙💛🙏

Throw Hungary out of EU, it’s becoming a roadblock to every EU attempt at almost everything.
After Nord 2 why give them anything..
It's not possible to get the chance.but it's my feeling like a brother with Zalnski
Why do you think that you can actually buy Hungarians with money? Dont you think that Hungary maybe have genuine problems with the Ukriainian legislation, and your bribery will have little effect on the final outcome?
Oh by the way should they decide to give the money to "Hungary" put some stipulations on it that it must be used in Hungary with an overcite committee. Lets se how that goes over.
This host extremely pleasant
Kick Orban Out!
❤ be stronger all of you
can there be a vote to kick members out of the EU?
Yes. Invoking article 7. Hungary can be kicked out. And as a EU citizen I think we should consider this.
Even if Hungary gets the full 30 billion now, it still will be a problem for the EU and continue to sabotage and block the EU in the future.
This goes beyond Ukraine now. Hungary is becoming a serious liability for the EU and NATO.
The EU needs to invoke Article 7 and expel Hungary. This wasnt possible before simce Polands former anti-EU rightwing government sided with Hungary but now that Poland has a new pro-EU government this is possible and the EU needs to focus on this.
No matter what Hungary does now, it has shown over the last few years how it is a serious liability for the EU. If the EU wants to pursue its goals and ensure safety and stability in Europe it needs to expel Hungary
There should be.
There is an easy fix to this problem. Hungary leaves the EU to join BRICS and Ukraine takes its place. Then Orban can fence Hungary off from the EU and dig a Hyper-Loop tunnel to Moscow.
Hungary has no place in EU and we should not allow them to blackmail us.
Who is this "us"? Because there wasnt any votimg, which means noone knows the official postiton of EU members. Here I only see some shadow government trying to blackmail Hungary.
There's no blackmail, we don't want anything in return for letting Ukraine the EU. And it's not like we'll let them in anyway.
@@1nhof are you really that naive? :)
@@sinannn000 Sorry, I meant to say we won't let them in
The sheer amount of approving and cheering comments by ordinary Russians in response to videos depicting the atrocities against civilians and prisoners of war in Ukraine were just as shocking to Ukrainians as the war itself. We had somehow grown accustomed to the war, but the realization of who we have been living alongside all this time without even knowing it is still horrifying.
Those barbaric creatures referred to themselves as our brotherly people. One can only imagine what they might do to those they consider their enemies given the opportunity.
Negotiating with Russia is akin to negotiating with Ebola. Allowing Russia to remain undefeated is like undertreating a deadly infection - it will only return stronger. This is why any peace agreement that doesn't ensure a clear victory for Ukraine is merely a temporary ceasefire.

Zelensky didn’t “fail” to achieve US support. The US Congress is asking for “victory” to be defined and within reason, what the objectives are to achieve that victory, the definitive steps required to achieve each objective, and a realistic cost estimate to achieve the broader goals, as defined. Ukraine’s still going to receive assistance.
Is it important that government from usa chase winning the war in Ukraine ? Don't you think lots of people or countries unhappy with usa government? Why can't they understand ?
They can swap w Hungary! Hungary can rejoin the Warsaw Pact. Everyone gets what they want.
Dear Europe, know your history. The Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, a state that brought much important intellectual attainment and other contributions to your continent, was destroyed by among other factors its overly-permissive Veto policy in its senate. Single members could hold up legislation and thereby effectively extort outlandish concessions from the nation as a whole. This continued until it became so commonplace that nothing moved and contributed strongly to its demise. I believe it bears value to contemplate how such a system ill-serves the longevity of your Union. Membership is a high bar; perhaps it ought to remain so. For every matter before the Union to be treated likewise seems deeply problematic to me. Funding proposals will almost always have detractors for whatever reason, for example.
"Single members could hold up legislation and thereby effectively extort outlandish concessions from the nation as a whole." Precisely what has happened in the US Congress.
Yeah, the difference is, that the Polish Lithuanian commonwealth was an actual country, while the EU is not a country but an alliance of countries, and if it wouldnt have veto powers, then tomorrow the european majority could vote that for example Italy has to change its language to German.
@@gaborrajnai6213 You have a point, but the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was close to being an alliance of countries. It was a federation of the Polish Kingdom, Lithuanian Grand Duchy and several Belarussian and Ukrainian duchies mostly joined by royal marriages. IMHO it would depend on how big the majority would have to be. If the necessary percentage was set to 80, it would be quite reasonable and safe IMO.

Unanimity was a gross mistake in the European constitution. It opens the door to this sort of blackmail.
Why should a nation with evident democratic decline like Hungary should be able to block extension of EU ? The veto rights of any country I would say should not exist on these matters and others.
Others... like the Schengen Area extension? Well, as long as Romanians do lead the list of foreign citizens' criminality in Austria, I don't expect a change in that. And maybe not only Austria is concerned...
You're still a little kid to figure it out.
@@Aleks-7US you must learn to express your opinion first irrespective of your age.
Talking about democratic decline why do you want to take a democratic right from a country to give to people, who were actually not elected in that country?
@@gaborrajnai6213 I don't want to take the rights of anyone. Was just stating the obvious that decline is happening there and other places, but there is no reason for a country in the block to veto things of such significance as EU extension without any backing. How would an internal decision system work inside a country if 100% agreement was enforced ? Would your country be able to decide on anything?
Everybody is asking for the reason why Ukraine cannot join EU. Orban made it clear - Because Hungary will not allow it. What else do you want? EU should green light the accession to EU Georgia and Moldova as well, and may be Armenia, assuming Armenia can escape Russia's and its allies' aggression and stay alive (we all pray for it).
