This terrifying first-person horror experience immerses the player into a world of isolation, fear, paranoia and claustrophobia as you make your way through the Oberon Cave. Throughout the game, you will experience atmospheric environments, disturbing audio and horrifying visuals.
Hey everyone just wanted to clarify something. I discovered an issue relating to my CPU and I think that’s why there were performance issues in certain areas of the game for me. It’s no fault of the developer and the game runs buttery smooth for me after fixing the issue. Give it a try for yourself if you are braver than me 😂

Side note, spiders are VERY territorial (with a few exceptions) so a "spider cave" like this would have MAYBE 3 spiders. Not many mother spiders would willingly share their homes with their kin, they'd definitely love to eat them though but not share their home past a certain point.

As an arachnophobe, I felt every moment. The panicked looking around every so often, ESPECIALLY ABOVE. Honestly, I've never thought about it until now, but I can't imagine a worse environment to be trapped with spiders.

I'm not massively into gaming generally speaking but I love horror games, you're missing out mateee
What helps for me is to have a lets play of the game running on the side while playing. You could try that as well.
You see Fooster, this is one of the many reasons I love you! Where most streamers or even players would probably curse, at best say something like "oh it's stuttering again", you play into it and make it into the cold influencing your character.
Also yeah, fellow arachnophobic here and I appreciate you playing this for me so I don't have to :)

Growing up I had severe arachnophobia, playing games like The Hobbit, or Chamber of Secrets or even Skyrim would absolutely terrify me. Now I've got it pretty much under control but damn this game unlocked those fears again. That last shot too..... damn. Love your content!

I don't know why but I got immediate Skyrim vibes. Just walking up to that cave, then climbing through the cave and holding a torch. Giant spiders, even an old ruin. It's like if modern-day spleunkers discovered an ancient Nord barrow. Btw: Grats on facing your fears. I am not afraid of spiders per se, but those ones...yeah I would be 😀

@@thefoosterchannelI wouldn't blame you if you didn't continue. I'm a sufferer of arachnophobia, severe case (save for some instances) so facing any kind of spider is a no. Especially giant ones, why I so hate that chase with Frodo in RotK. As a UA-camr once said, spiders are a sign that god truly doesn't exist. Or at least is a giant douche.

arachnophobia is a very real thing i myself am terrified of spiders
Former arachnophobe here, I'm the same way. Now I love them and even volunteer at an exotic pet rescue that has about 10 of them and two scorpions (which I have handled multiple times.) Games like this are comedy to me.
You know I never really paid this channel much attention before the alien series but after watching such a long series with fooster in it kinda makes me realize how high quality this channel is.

These spiders are.. interesting. The giant cobwebs are an easy way for a game to tell you "here by spiders, beware", though itd also indicate these spiders hunt by trapping victims rather than actively going after them. But when you do run into them, they chase you more akin to wandering spiders. So perhaps theres a second 'caste' of this family of social spiders that weaves the webs, and then the wandering ones are patrolling the tunnels for anything slipping by the trappers?
Maybe those spiders hunt with webs when they are young, like up to reaching the size of a dog/rabbit, but after growing up further, it's not so useful anymore.

I love it when you do the Hello in a pitch black cave with no idea what is going to happen Hello! LMAO.
What I found seriously disappointing about this game is that every single spider encounter was in a cutscene. You literally never have to run or fight, as the game will always do it for you. Makes the replay value seriously low. The only reason I've played multiple times is because I seriously love spiders, so the concept of enormous ones is like heaven to me.
I wouldn't have continued on as soon as I saw those gigantic webs. I would have called the rescue services and have them handle it. One person alone couldn't rescue three people and rescue services has more equipment etc to help. Thank you for playing it.

So, back when I was arachnophobic, I had a nightmare where spiders like this attacked me. Fortunately, there was a loaded M4A2 on the ground. I went full auto on them...that ran out of ammo. Cue the chase.

i like how you and IGP change your voice audio effects to fit the environment of a game your in. like the echo you did when first entering the cave. igp did a two way radio effect overlay on his voice in a game and I think a muted voice effect to simulate having a diving helmet on in a different one. it adds to the immersion, and I appreciate it!!
edit: also, I love the graphics. reminds me of the early 2000's games I used to play. good times!! emulators are the retro games friend.

If they cave is that full of giant wolf spiders, who is going through lighting the torches? Also, for a supposedly public cave location, it's amazing the park service has such pitiful illumination and guiding in it. Clearly they know full well what is inside and don't care if people are fed to the spiders. Reminds me of the Dogmen populations in the various parks of the nation, like Yellowstone and Yosemite.
