As ashen one, in Dark Souls 1 the first weapon we use is a broken sword. Gael, a undead hollow use a broken sword. "Half of the blade of this straight sword is broken off. Only the completely Hollowed would even consider using this as a weapon."
And yet it's what you have to use with the Soul of Sif in DS1 to get the Original sword of Artorias. Any other compatible weapon will instead give you the cursed version.
Actually the first weapon you use is the Straight Sword Hilt, not a Broken Straight Sword. It's truly terrible, and there is a good reason why the Broken Straight Sword is used for challenge runs while the Straight Sword Hilt is not.

I've been underappreciating this theme for years. It's really good.
I know the phase 2 theme is always the more favored part of Gael's theme but for some reason this is the only cover where i like phase 1 over phase 2.
