- jugalbandi between pt. Ram Narayan on sarangi and ustad Bismillah Khan on shehenai.
Shehenai a wind instrument with six to nine holes to produce different frequencies of notes.
ustad Bismillah khan ji has played it with great efficacy.
Sarangi which is bowed instrument, extremely difficult to play, as there are no references or landmarks on the instrument for producing notes.
pt. Ram Narayan ji has played it with extreme perfection.
also revealing his great knowledge of indian raga music.
Ustad Bismillah Khan Sahab & Pt Ram Narayan ji 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I play Sarangi because of the beautiful music that I have heard Pt. Ram Narayan play. I also play shehenai reed flute like Usted Bismillah Khan plays. No, I am not nearly as good as either of them. But I still enjoy playing these instruments and others from all over the world!
I do as well.... sometimes difficult to get good Shehnai reed.... substitute Sitar for Sarangi in my case. Nikhil Banerjee fan.
You guys are so fortunate :) I play them in my head :) Nikhil Da, Ram Narayan ji and Khan Saheb - my eternal favorites :)
Hi Balu.... you are smartest to play them in your head..... more freedom and flexibility... that's where it all is anyway since the beginning of the Universe. So happy we groove on the same masters of bliss in music... your Pal, Jim.
Hi Pal, I don't know about being 'smartest', but you're quite right about freedom, flexibility and flights of imagination... Masters of bliss indeed :)
Too good ! This is just great music, virtuosity of the highest order !! Ram Narayan excellent, Bisimilla Khan ......Kya kehne
Magnificent.. Heavenly.
Raag Malkauns, kiya kehnay, SubhanAllah,Legends at work.
👌👌
The tabla player in the photograph is Pt, Nikhil Ghosh, younger btother of Pt. Pannalal Ghosh, and a disciple of Pt. Gnan Prakash Ghosh
🙏🏻❤️😇🙏🏻
Great 👌🏻❤️🎼
Adding Malkauns to the title will boost this video
Absolute masterpiece!
No reference or landmarks... like a violin, a cello, a double bass... One of the difficulties lies in the fact that a sarangi goes out of tune very easily, so the players must sometimes stop playing to tune it in the middle of a concert, which is no problem for indian classic players or listeners for that matter !
...Heavenly
Pranam ...
Malkauns, ustadji is clearer than panditji in ragdari.
