Hey scott! Im a spa tech in chicago, when i first started i had no clue what i was doing but ive been watching your videos over the years and youve helped me out alot, thanks spa man
Hey there, East Canada connecting. I found out that the light was leaking after 10 hours of work on the root molded 2 person hot tub work I did myself. The Spa Man vids were so helpful! I just found out where at least one leak is today. So now I can feel at ease knowing that the Spa man has a vid on helping stop the light leak....here in Atlantic Canada the spa service is horrendously terrible! And they charge 127 per hour taxes included! Dealing with them and feeling very frustrated with Island hot tubs and pools on Prince Edward Island was enough to help me decide to commit to finding out the leak myself. I have 6 bags of spray foam thinking it was one of the jets or plumbing. You have to work underneath it so I jacked and supported it 24 inches up. Once I started slowly filling up the hot tub in sections so I can stop and see if there is a leak as it gets filled then a pause. Well! Can you believe that the light is right where the one panel door is near the motor....and can you believe that the hot tub guy came and kneeled for 15 minutes looking at the plumbing and didn't even see or think to notice the spa light that was dripping two drops per second right there in the clear area of the panel area!!! They were really quick to send me an invoice! I did not pay it in haste like I generally do and I will be challenging them as this guy didn't even do anything! We call this making "stupid money" which is like robbery ! UGH! A lot of disappointment with this hot tub landscape! I will fix the light leak and learn how, then continue to fill up the hot tub slowly checking that any of the other jets are solid with sealing. I plan to stuff the hot tub with rock wool and reflecto blanket and never fill it with spray foam again! It really takes a lot of patience so I worked 2-4 hours per day then I had to stop for sanity reasons. What kept me going was knowing that I wasn't giving my hard earned money to an incompetent repair guy ..... he probably would have ended doing a horrible job as well. DIY'ers we got this! It is a commitment though....if I had a full time job and kids and pets to manage I would not have gotten around to working on it....cheers from East Canada.

Great video! Should I replace the removed foam with the can spray foam if I have to remove a larger amount?
