    Always good keep it up. Been using tiger for a while now ..excellent thread and super strong. People say it's expensive ...I guess it is in business but hobby use I think it's worth it. When you consider the amount of labour time hand stitching something then surely it's better to use a premium product than have a failure that you have to repeat. We all seem to know the Cost of everything these days .....but forget the Value in things and people.

      Oh Berkeley, I can't agree more with you. This is exactly what I am talking about. Yeah if you are making lifetime leather goods, few buck don't matter. it''s the quality that last with your work.

    This is a great explanation of why my Tiger thread doesn't tangle like my other polyester thread does. I really hadn't thought about it before watching this, l just knew the one was faster than the others. I hand sew belt liners and believe me it makes a difference when doing several feet of hand sewing.

    I started out with flat threads and found that it lacked style...i gate the way they lay. I like the way round threads look so much better. If iam gonna use polyester thread and not linen thread... I love Wuta leather round threads. I own the entire color range in their round .45mm, .55mm and their .65mm. It is perfectly waxed ( internal) it doesn't twist up, knot up or slit, while sewing. I just don't like flat thread at all, tiger thread is nice... but I hate flat thread lol.
    ** update, I pretty much own all the Ritza tiger thread colors in many sizes.... so I pulled them out from my thread bin that has been under my bench for awhile. After seeing this vid, I pulled them back out and I think I fell in love with them again lmfao. I guess the cheap flat thread caked with pounds of wax in 1 inch of the thread, you could use it as a sticky 2x4 in your wall. I forgot how good this thread is.. thanks man lol

    Hi that is very helpful, at present I am using a 2ply waxed polyester cord, the needles I have came from a handsewing kit. I am having a major problem threading the thread thu the needle eye, I just cannot accept that it has to be so difficult to thread a needle, I am going to try and access the ritza thread, how can I insure I get the right size needle for thread, it is extremely difficult just to get this information here in New Zealand..

    Greetings from Peru. a query. I use pricking iron 3.38. What size Tiger thread do you recommend for that pricking iron?

  • @godofm3tal1
    @godofm3tal1 5 років тому

    The reason that thread frays and unravels is because it's not waxed like the tiger thread. No other reason

    good video, thank you. i have a question about threads if i may: i have some cheap hand sewing threads that are flat and i don't much like them. i think i'd prefer a round thread. is the Rtiza 25 thread flat or round? i thought it was round but some suppliers say it is flat.do you have any thoughts on the flat vs round threads for hand sewing?

    Hi I am new to leathercraft, I have a size 3 mm Crafttools chisel, what thread size and needle do you recommend? Or do you think I should move up to 4 mm and then same question, what size thread and needle? Any help is appreciated.

    • @leathertoolz
      @leathertoolz  4 роки тому +1

      for 3mm Crafttools Chisel, Thread size 0,8 to 1,0 mm goes well.
      for 4mm, if you make big good like bags. Thread size 1,0mm to 1,2mm

    Definitely the best thread, but so expensive (£25 for 500m) in the U.K., so doesn't get used on all projects.

    • @leathertoolz

      Yeah kind of. it is for heavy duty work. so I think 4mm, 5mm works the best.

    Could ve explained all in 2 mins with simple sentences. Its painful to listen to the same words all over again throughout the video. no consistency whatsoever.
