Not sure but this yard setup/landscaping is gorgeous!
And that wooden fence. This would make a great promotional video for whoever built it.
I’m not sure why Mother Nature wants to wreck it
This wasn’t a tornado. The way you can tell us the wind doesn’t change direction. A tornado has wind pulling and sucking as it passes by. You would see the trees bending the direction the tornado was. It could be a derecho.
Or literally just a microburst…aka the most common form of straight line winds
Straight line winds. Wind direction never changed and a microburst is much more intense and usually has hail
no it probably is a microburst. Video tends to portray insane wind as high or moderate so at peak the winds are probably near 100 MPH at peak.
Peak winds start a little after 0:24.
Gusts near 55-65 mph
beautiful garden!
You have a beautiful backyard oh and great footage of what looks like a possible microburst...whatever it was, you did a great job of filming, very clear, not shaking camera just very professional looking!! I loved it!!!!
First of all, thank you for using a quality camera. Secondly, thank you for not constantly zooming in and out making it unwatchable. Thirdly, thank you for not talking through the entire weather event. And finally, thank you for not inserting constant "oh my g-d" and endless profanities like so many other weather videos.
Thank you! Please subscribe, like, and share!!
IKR. I hate those people who can’t record a video screaming their head off
great footage. insane storm
gorgeous HD quality. I grew up 50 miles north of Dothan. I don't remember a storm this strong ever rolling through the area.
I'm impressed. You didn't hardly flinch! That looks super scary to me.
I’m OK with very strong winds
I live in Dothan Alabama and I was horrified nothing has ever happened like this and all the trees round my house got knocked over it was horrible😓😭
Madddie annners this one was bad I live across the street from him and like me trees are weak.so like they where bent af
Buck Perdue Ik we had really bad damadge and we also had that tornado hit yesterday we were really lucky🙏 That tornado hit less than a mile from our house and God answered our prayers because if it is we would be Building a new house right now🙏
Madddie annners I'm sorry hope y'all are okay
Madddie annners hope you're Allright. We just got a pretty bad storm in san diego with wind speeds 70+ MPH at sometimes. More down south there was even severe thunderstorm warning.
Madddie annners how sad at least u r ok
Gotta say, loving the framerate. Weather looks so much better in 60fps :D
What a lovely yard. Hope the microburst didn't damage your trees and flowers
wwilddjohnson01
You are correct. Lance is a 12 year old troll.
This seems to just be some strong straight lined winds.
0:35 1:01 poor pear tree. Only lasted about 7 seconds into the most intense part. Such beautiful but weak trees. Great video!
I'm glad I'm not a tree. They go through hell. They can't go inside when it's stormy, they just have to stand there.
I'm laughing rn 😂😂
Who gives a shit if it’s stormy only pussys go inside when it’s windy
I’m pretty sure they enjoy it cuz their getting watered
I remember this I live in dothan also and I was in a mobile home at the time. I was for sure it was gonna flip it was rattling and shaking so bad you could hear the plates on the counter rattle also.
Man, you have some *gnarly* weather in US. We in 🇬🇧 complain about ours (it's a national pastime!) but really, we haven't much to complain about compared to this, and hurricanes, tornadoes, derechos, intense heatwaves..... We have had severe flooding events and there's no one I'd wish that on. Keep safe y'all!
No tornado here, just strong straight-line winds and heavy rain.
Still pretty dangerous
@@sweetcinnamonpnchkin yes indeed
@@pcs56 no problem, felt that it needed to be addressed
I'm going with a micro burst.
Straight line winds.
That's a microburst. You can tell that it's a microburst by looking at the top of the trees. There is a noticeable downward angle to the wind here that presses down the top of the trees. That's normally indicative of a microburst where the wind is actually blowing down to the ground from high up in the atmosphere.
If I saw that. I would have a straight up panic attack
Here in Brazil this kind of storm is very common especially in the summer. But in this case it was a small microburst. :)
Me encanta la lluvia, me hace pensar que hasta las nubes pueden tener un mal rato y llorar...
That's one Violent Severe Storm, sustained 50-60mph and those gusts where 70mph +
55-65 mph gusts
Why can't there be consistent hurricane footage like this? That would be my goal, film the unending, unrelenting build up and progression of a hurricane from a clutch vantage point. Then, display it to all of you!
+B Frazia We have similar goals. Storm team?
It would be sweet man, the adrenaline rush would be insane!
B Frazia As Ron White said, "Its not that the wind is blowing, its WHAT the wind is blowing."
No doubt
Search hurricane michael...start to finish...brutal...I was in it
The collapse of a thunderstorm, downward falling cold air out of a thunderstorm. Wind blowing one direction, not a tornado.
Lance Lee
Don't listen to this troll Stacy. You are correct.
definately NOT a tornado. Winds are up to 100km/h and that is not even hurricane force winds
jacqueline jacobs those are hurricane force on gusts. Try standing in the field.
@Mitchell Christie Yes, we know that. This was simply straight line winds. PS: Dont believe everything you see/hear
101, 102...whatever it takes.
Gusts 55-65 mph
I don't know why but this weather is beautiful in a really creepy way
We had these same winds in Mobile, most likely the same day. I was too blown away (no pun intended) to think to grab my camera. It was pretty awesome!
+itsnotthesamething Had a microburst in Albemarle, NC June 14, 2013 and only one business posted the storm on UA-cam that I have seen because it happened so quickly - but I sure got a lot of eyewitness reports of it from friends!!
Trees be like "God wtf you doing man... I thought we were on the same team..."
best gust 30secs best overall action about 90secs great trees there always best for wind action takes me back to when I was a kid always into thunderstorms watching the trees
It's a microburst, for sure. No twistees here.
Straight line winds form from a bow echo and happen just before the precipitation. Micro Burst form directly after and parallel to the frontal boundary passing through. Thunderstorms can also cause heavy winds that are not associated with an echo or boundary line.
I live in north east IL and we get these things a lot in the summer
This looks a ton like my neighborhood. We just lost a lot of branches on our weeping willow. I'm glad someone was brave enough to stand out in this! Lol
If it was a tornado, a lot of things would blow away, if it was a microburst, there would've been a lot more downdraft with it.
Cute backyard! Nice footage too.
Straight line winds are the same thing as a microburst
This is a SUPERCELL!!!
What's all the hoohah over a little drizzle? lol Had a strong one here a couple of weeks ago. I caught it right before I made it home. Last intersection before the house I couldn't see through the windshield and just happened to look out of the drivers side when the first real wind burst hit. Rain completely horizontal and the wind hit a huge pecan tree as I looked over. It started to bend and right as you would expect it to bounce back the wind just pushed harder and it kept going. Snapped that baby right off at the ground! Impressive cuz the butt was a solid 24 inches! Just missed the house it sat in front of by about 5 feet. Lucky owner! Cool storm!
A side note... There are so many videos of the winds, storms, hail, tornados from across the plains states... looking at life a hundred or so years ago... the people out there were just nailing things together for a shelter/house... like Little House on the Prairie... you gatta wonder how often people ended up rebuilding their shelters each year.
Looks a lot like the hurricanes we have here in NC. Pretty yard though! Hope you were able to make it look pretty again!
Kimberly Crouch It was amazing! Only one thing in the yard moved!
Hurricane Florence
Just a good old-fashioned severe thunderstorm. I live in Phoenix and I know. Several questions. Did the lights go out? Also any idea how strong the winds? They look close to 80mph gusts a few times. Must be strong trees there!
+winterdesert1 On my side of Dothan none of our power went out. Tree fell on my friend's neighbor's house and car.
+SirBeaver You're lucky. I live in the Cloverdale section. Some over here got hit hard. One intersection off of Massee had 3 homes basically destroyed by trees. We lost our pecan tree. Been there longer than me. Oh well, can't eat pecan pie anymore anyways.
This is like 55-65 mph gusts
Impressive that nothing in the video got knocked over!
I’m not an expert but I believe these are straight line winds because of the upward draft at one point in the video. Also straight line winds are just air that has been pushed away from a storm from the pressure.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING.
Hazard (If it was long lasting): Severe Thunderstorm Warning
Looks like straight line winds to me🌨🌩
phoenix az got hit by a storm like that last year and it looked exactly like this! winds gusted up to 100 mph and blew down hundreds if not thousands of large and small trees, knocked out power to 50,000 people, tore off some roofs and sent branches flying into houses, cars, and into swimming pools, caused powerful flash floods and left a huge mess to clean up for weeks to come. it only lasted 15 minutes but it was like a hurricane or a f1 tornado! there was an actual confirmed tornado near glendale az, it was a brief whirl and didnt do much damage but the microburst that followed sure made it hard to tell whether or not the damage was from the tornado or the wind blast.
ill bet. it was a wild afternoon that day.
@@alexlubbers1589 were they recorded, or estimated
I remember one time when I was a kid we had a severe thunderstorm watch on tv. I remember hearing a piece of thunder that day
That glorious 60fps
I live in Dothan as well by Lowe's across by Walmart and I tore my yard and privacy fence up so bad. Thank God I have insurance. I believe this was a tornado that came down but didn't actually stay on the ground long. It was awful
One direction winds despite the twirling planters. Turns grey for a short period of time a couple of times, yet winds stay only one direction. Conclusion: None of the above. Downburst.
I live in dothan and my neighborhood was out of power until early Monday morning at 3 am and my mom just got her power back on last night. I live in a trailer park and a tree fell on one of my neighbors place and quite of other trees fell also lucky no one in the park got hurt just a big mess we are cleaning up. That was scary we just sat down to eat supper and this storm hit out of no where!
Yes it did I agree with you there
Lasted too long for a microburst. Straight line winds but still impressive!
you dude i live in dothan to dothan high school was out no food or power the power went out today at lunch but good vid man a fellow youtuber in my city awesome
We had a lot of trees down over here in Cloverdale.
Definately looks like a straight line winds signature but very very good quality video!!!
Thank you! Please subscribe, like, and share!!
Sounds like tornado spin
The best video ever
It came in hard and fast 💨 Tornado 🌪 like 👍 Squall Line smashes Alabama with 90mph Gust 💨
In this case, a picket fence is a lucky choice. You can see a number of other backyard videos of microbursts in which solid wood fences are slammed to the ground in a flash.
Straight Line Winds for sure.
It was a microburst. If all damage and wind go the same did reaction it's microburst.
Yes in the beginning, when it was quiet, the trees gave no indication of moving in a left direction which would be when they pull towards a tornado because the wind is so strong BEFORE it even gets there. It can tear apart buildings and then be chopped up and strewn about after the actual tonado hits that area.
Awesome wind
This was a stron microburst. The winds were blowing one way the whole time.
In a microburst, the winds are downward. However, outside of a microburst where the winds spread out after hitting the ground, THAT'S where the straight-lined winds are. They also go out in different directions, the microburst doesn't spread the winds out in one particular direction.
SaltySaiyan i think he was trying to indicate the lack of the "possible tornado"
Gusts 55-65 mph
That was a pretty string gust
Yea and to think, I live in Dothan and this isn't even the worst possible weather we have. 2 months ago there was a tornado going through and it came through our backyard. 1 week later there was one downtown but it was an f2. Frickin scary crap in late winter/early spring...
yes it touched down
+AvaBay I remember that one I live close to the court house and I was in the bathroom crying
Could be a small micro burst usually they are stronger than that but could be.
Or also could be inflow to a tornado due to same direction winds
The inflow of a tornado would be quicker than and more stronger than that.
Nice footage! What camera did you use?
***** Wow, iPhone 6 got a very good camera! Thank you to share.
Possible Wake Low?
It's just winds. A tornado, the wind direction will change in relation to the rotation.
That was straight line wind or a microburst.
whoever built that picket fence did a good job indeed , great video as well .
those winds look about 75 to 80 mph
I saw a worse one in Tulsa years ago in high school. It bent over amusement park rides. Metal.
cool
Awesome video!
+William Moffitt Thanks!!
I don't know how those trees didn't break off.
When k was little like 6-7 microburst used to hit my neighborhood all the time 😩
A lot of people say this, even when the gusts are barely reaching 30 mph, 30 mph is strong, but is the speed most people exaggerate
I'd keep playing, doesn't look like the heavy stuff will move in for a while.
Indeed a microburst
Not a tornado for sure. But to me microburst are more impressive sometimes! Nice vid
I love this rain
Everyday here on the prairie when we get a storm.
cool
It's just a regular storm with some gusty winds. Calm down.
this cracked our window we were without power for 2 or 3 days
I remember this day like it was yesterday they canceled school and everything
I'm not to smart on trying to identify what is happening during a severe storm but could it possibly be a RFD in a tornado?
microburst w/ straight line winds. A tornado would've pulled your planters and trees up
Depending actually on if the planters are anchored into the ground and the intensity of the tornado for example tornadoes like EF0 will only blow the leaves off the trees and unanchored light material like building materials not yet used and furniture on the porch
When this hit our house, the trampoline was lifted into the air, and ended up on the roof. We had to get the whole roof replaced
I think I saw that house
Pretty strong down burst.
omg those bird feeders are like the hevyest things ever non of them are like side ways omg
*I’m looking in the comments for weather geeks.*
You have them here for sure. Also the Floridians that think theyve seen it all
wait till you see a hurricane
I was living in Dothan when this happened
I know that pulled some shingles off of houses in the area. Wicked.
Hey Tyler, what kind of camera did you use? And how many fps? And what editing software?
Ok thanks, awesome footage.
If I were you, when the thought of "oh shit, that might be a tornado" popped into my head, I would've went straight to shelter.
That was the last toad lick festival I bet. Had these storms every April during the concert festival.
It's called a wake low broski
