I’ve been on a Goldeneye custom level UA-cam binge the past few days and this level is the best I’ve seen so far. The spoken dialogue, selection of weapons, varied terrain, and cool map layout are all on point! You have a natural talent my friend. I’m so happy you’re putting it to use by going to school for it. Never give up doing what makes you happy for a living. Thanks for sharing this with the internet!
05:28 What?! A functioning bridge? That was incredibly clever. I give that a solid applause all by itself. Definitely up there among the absolute best custom missions for GE thus far. Nice level design, with some fun throwbacks to Surface and Bunker. The power outage and cave-in were also well executed. Pheonarx... I salute your efforts. Awesome work.
this was incredible! I thought "wow... surface???" but then it all came together. the music was spliced AMAZINGLY TOO. the extra touches really helped!
Dang that was a phenomenal level. I've never seen custom Goldeneye before and this kinda blew me away, haha. I also love that you (correctly) never touched the dual Klobbs, haha. Brings me back to the OG game and that thing was just a waste of PP7 bullets. Really cool friend! And very inspiring to read your top comment about how this got you started down the path to living a creative life!
Man, I love the outro of this level so much, the plot twist back there and some parts of Standoff as well - dunno if's connected but yeah Definitely a top 5 hardest levels I've played along with Standoff in the same complied. I was challenged by my brother who's a big fan of you for a long time to speedrun it, took me TWO WEEKS to get a decent time; it could be harder if the initial guards had ARs and ZMGs and the Hazmat team with RCPs/Lasers/Magnums lol but that's insane, I've got that part on Standoof* lmao *Yeah, Standoof cuz that level is hard ack
Yeah, it works perfectly fine on the EverDrive-64. The Editor doesn't have any limit aside of the default engine limits, if you respect those and don't abuse emulation inaccuracies, your ROM will work on console.
The footsteps sound on the snow are really loud and obnoxious to hear everytime especially with bonds walking speed. Don't get me wrong I like the little realism it brings but it would be nice to turn the volume down on that, otherwise great level and awesome corny voice overs lol
I feel that way about walking in most games unless its really really quiet. Yes it obviously makes noise but in real life your mind tunes it out in comparison with other sounds. This just forces it into your consciousness.
Yeah, GoldenEye isn't the sort of game that should have footsteps. I actually recall reading that footstep sounds *were* intended to be in the original game, but the developers scrapped it. No surprise why.
I had been waiting to play this level ever since he announced it on twitter, this level looks so good, great job on this Graslu and keep up the good work, you going to reach a million subscribers one day.
I loved the elements of surprise, like the power failure and the neurotoxin leak, but the rest of the level felt unnecessarily enormous and textureless. Amazing work, nonetheless!
so does he just one shot kill you if you don't put gun away? and impossible to kill with anything other with golden gun with how he somehow took 4 shots from it to kill?
Random question but does anyone know if it's possible to get into the ini files of this rom and increase the loading distance of ai and objects? (i'm unsure what it's all called exactly)
They're mods for the original game, most can be played on real hardware too through an EverDrive-64 or similar. I've left a tutorial in the description for both the emulator (mouse & keyboard and 60FPS) and installing mods.
@@Graslu00 okay cool, just comparing to say the black guards on the train level for example...or yellow guys in aztec. I wasn't trying to take anything away from your run, just thought they dropped quicker is all.
The black guards on Train have armor, which makes them immune to slappers and a few shots at first. Yellow guys are default but have quick reaction time.
All the required links are in the description. They're made with the GoldenEye Setup Editor and several other programs such as Blender for the level geometry.
The geometry is made on 3D programs like Blender, 3ds Max, XSI or others. The setup itself (Objectives, scripts, logic, guard placement, etc...) is made in the GoldenEye Setup Editor. It's a long and tedious process as it's not too intuitive.
Yeah, you can make the geometry there. Pheonarx used it for most of his levels, but they need a lot of optimizing when porting them to GE64 as the model exports from Hammer have a lot of unoptimized subdivisions.
Is there some way you could make all these mods into a standalone UWP game? It would be interesting playing these on a dev mode activated Xbox one. Just a thought .....
No it's not possible to have multiple maps on a single ROM unless the creator compiled them together. So with patches you'd have to go one my one creating different ROMs.
@@Graslu00 ok thank you ever so much for your help and replying so soon. Good luck with the rest of your work. I'm sure many of us will enjoy your work for many years to come. 👍🏻

No, these are custom levels which are made by the community. As for a re-release of GoldenEye, it's completely impossible with today's rules for the Bond IP, along a lot of other things like actor likeness. It's not possible to have GoldenEye N64 re-released "as is".

wow, this actually is one of the best designed maps i've seen so far
Surface 3 looks nice
My God, some decent amount of work was put into this level! Didn't expect to see this!
I'm getting "deja vu" to the Crash Site level in Perfect Dark because of the complexity of the map.

I’ve seen quite a few custom GE levels and this is by far the best I’ve seen. The dialog, changes in music, and level design are superb. Well done.
Wow! Beautiful and amazing!!! Never saw a fanmade level so good
This really is a masterpiece, so well considered and designed - I'd pay good money for a whole Pheonarx game
This definitely has to be one of the best custom levels for GoldenEye.
The Most Complex Level *Ever*
wouldnt prob even load on a n64
It's fully compatible with real hardware!
so the rom would work on an everdrive ? !!! how does the editor work ? does it have a limiter on how detailed a map can be ?

Thats the most COMPLEX level ever..
This was probably the longest custom mission and it had voice and footsteps, Well Done

So did he survive the rocket launcher in the end? Haha
he missed that shot

I love Pheonarxs' levels.. ❤🔥
Great level, I like the depth of it!
10/10 for this level.
I wish this level were as easy as you make it look......
The outro cinematic was really good!
How do you program a moving floor like the bridge at 5:34 in GoldenEye?
It's just a visual trick, a model animated to go down and removing the collision so you can walk normally through the bridge's clipping.
This is a pretty awesome custom level. Pretty creative and interesting.
the drawbridge and hazmat suits were a nice touch
Pheonarx is an excellent author, cant wait to see his future projects.
I'm afraid to say that this will be his final level. He may release a pack having all of them in a single patch, but no more levels from him.
Graslu00 wow what a shame, he did great. Whys he retiring so soon?
I guess it's tiring to make such awesome maps. Busy life, or just want to do something else.
Pheonarx best level and dedication into it
That would of been cool if the enemy's did talk in goldeneye
The one and only time an enemy tries to shoot you down with a one-hit Golden Gun
What a long a complex map! Enjoyed it!
8:01 Kills 100 wtf.........
This map has a Syphon filter feel! Nice! ^ ^
6:53 It took 3 shots to kill him!? A gun that normally kills people in 1 shot!? That’s good boss programming!
3 Shots in The Head, in other parts it takes more then that
It's funny how The Golden Gun, for all its mystique, is a pretty bad gun.
Most of map people do are dumb but this one is well made! Good work
How cool would it be if someone joined all of the original levels together to form one huge play through
Shit, man, those hazard suit models are fucking awesome and fit right in. I hope someone from Goldeneye-X adds those to multi.
Thumbs up and applause for your creativity
Get ready
2:48
Those are the only shots I've ever seen you miss graslu lol
There are times I wish Goldeneye was remade and with official maps like this!

what wouldve happened if you werent quiet and subordinate?
Better than the 2 Surface missions.

No, they have the default health and the black commando ones have a little more. Headshots kill instantly in all difficulties to generic guards.
