Just stayed at the Wilderness Lodge for 9 nights in a 1 bedroom at Boulder Ridge. Our absolute favorite Disneyworld resort and the Boulder Ridge lobby is truly breathtaking and yes Walt Disney's train is still there it's actually called the "train room." I can't begin to explain how amazing this resort is and we actually prefer Boulder Ridge over being in the main building. That little walk over the bridge at night hearing the sounds of nature, the amazing smells as the door opens and the few steps to the bus is simply perfect. We have stayed at many of the Disneyworld resorts from All Stars to the Grand Floridian and for us there is no question. Wilderness Lodge is our favorite resort.
There’s a fun character scavenger hunt you can do in the Boulder Ridge lobby (ask for it at the front desk in the main lobby). You can also get another one that takes you all over the resort and gives you some history/background information on things like the geyser, fireplace and Carlwood Pacific Room. If you’re staying or have a dining reservation (go early) I highly recommend taking an hour or so to do these. Makes you appreciate the Imagineering (attention to detail and artistry) behind the resort while taking you to nooks and crannies you might’ve not seen otherwise.
I'm trying to decide where to book my next two bedroom and it's between Copper Creek and Boulder Ridge. One big difference I found that no one ever seems to mention is the balcony size. Copper Creek has full length balconies where Boulder Ridge has two small balconies.
My first impression of Boulder Creek (then called Wilderness Lodge Villas) was that I would love to stay there in the winter on one of those rare cold days in central Florida.
The Carolwood Pacific room is great for a board game or a book. We stayed in a BRV Studio last Christmas, and we had some of our best times lounging in that area by the fire as a family.
Copper Creek is basically a Galley kitchen, missing off the opposite parallel run of units, but it’s long and thin like a galley kitchen. I would not personally describe the kitchens at Boardwalk etc as galley kitchens as they have no attributes of a galley kitchen. Studios are quite difficult at CCV for sure, very difficult but you can get them in summer- I had one for my now cancelled August trip, booked pre Covid.
Love both CCV and BRV. We enjoy hanging out in the BRV lobby. last 3 years we have stayed between BRV and CCV. 66 days till we are back! The views out of the higher floor lake view side in Boulder are gorgeous!
Bolder Ridge lobby is so beautiful but the rooms need a rehab. Like copper creek is nice but the two bedroom kitchen livingroom feels a little tight. However, the second bedroom is excellent. I love that bathroom has sinks on the opposite sides of the bathroom
I have a question for everyone; I know bed comfort is subjective but in your experience, what are your top resorts in terms of having a great night sleep after a long day in the parks? I prefer soft mattresses. At some point I look forward to staying at all the resorts. I enjoy these shows, thank you.
Does Pete have a stake in DVC Store now? His promotion seems to go quite a bit beyond typical sponsorship. Not complaining if he does but would just appreciate more transparency as has historically been the case with the Dis.
Hey fellow DIS lovers!! I had a question. We were looking to book through Dreams Unlimited Travel for an upcoming trip. I usually do everything myself, but was looking to support them in this crazy time. I read reviews on FaceBook and a lot of them weren’t too good. Can anyone share their experience with me? Thank you 😊
I will say this. My wife and I own DVC at three different resorts. With how much information and entertainment over the years that the DIS has given us we thought because of everything that has been going on we would book a cash trip with Dreams for mid 2021. The agent we were given, was bad. It was three of four days between emails, and those emails were vague at best 'yes, no, I will look into it' types. Honestly, the whole experience left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. We ended up saying screw it.
Rusty Shackleford Thank you so much for your reply. Sadly, that’s what I have been hearing a lot of :( I am a pretty seasoned Disney vacationer, but we are doing a split stay between Animal Kingdom Lodge and Riviera this time so I figured I could use some advice.
I tried them a few years back and I wouldn't bother again...didn't really notice any benefit over what I could do myself. Maybe if I was going on a cruise...which would be totally new for me and a more "specialized" situation.
Would love a show comparing the cabins vs the Poly bungalows!
Would love to see more like this! Maybe Boardwalk Villas vs Beachclub Villas.

Pete, you were on fire here! Very entertaining and great info.

Iron Spike Room is right up there with Martha's Graveyard. Instant classic.
I’m signing the contract on a Copper Creek 200-pointer this afternoon. Hope to see y’all soon!
I’ve been wondering the differences between these 2 DVC properties...thanks for the vlog!!
The wife and I are gonna spend two nights in a Cabin Labor Day weekend for my birthday!! I can’t wait.
Just bought a loaded 300 point contract at CCV for $135 a point. Super happy! Cannot wait to stay in a cabin. 🌲🏞️

A new client of Jerry! He’s the best, extremely knowledgeable!
He’s terrific!
It would be interesting to find out how many people actually use these kitchens.

I like the bathrooms at Copper creek, the kitchen at Old Key West, the living room at Boardwalk and the feel of Animal Kingdom... ALL 1 Bedroom

we own at OKW and have swapped into CCV twice and BRV twice both studios... magic does happen

Iron Spike room is now called Carolwood Pacific room.
But still martini friendly 😁
Thanks for this. Staying @ Copper Creek next May (assuming the world survives that long) in a 2-bedroom.
So... which studio today would you choose? Copper Creek is newer but Boulder Ridge rooms look bigger??
Copper Creek Vilas look like the nicest rooms with the plunge pools and modern finishes

Is there a standard life cycle refurbishment scheduel at wdw hotel rooms? Some seem so out of date. But the improvements when made look awsome

Maybe, but jerry provides so much useful real work content, I can put up with the constant. Dvc store commercial
