He's like a needy impatient girlfriend "Baaabbeeee I wanna summon the almighty dragon alien god to create an infinite energy source!" "In a minute, let me work first. Also isn't the energy crisis like, 1000 years out?" "BUT I WANNA SUMMON THE INFINITY DRAGON NOWWWWW WHY DON'T YOU LOVE ME LEON"
This description ironically goes really hard. The man who built Macro Cosmos, became chairman of the Galar League, and wanted to fix Galar’s energy problem, dethroned after repeating a doomed history. Why? Because he couldn’t wait another day.
I think this game is unironically gonna give Macro Cosmos a better story than the 15 minutes of screentime they ended up getting in Sword and Shield lmao
I mean this game has already given Galar better characterization so yeah I wouldn't doubt it. The only thing missing is voice acting for Piers's singing.
Honestly, the removal of the chorus is a bit beneficial since it always hurts my head trying to differentiate "Go Rose, save everyone" and the other Latin one. Thankfully, the pounding steel sound makes up for that by a ton!
I’ve been waiting for Rose to be in here for the longest time, ever since I heard it in SWSH. Finally giving Rose one of the best themes in the game (in my opinion) to me was the best thing to happen to this game by far.
Given the comparisons to God-Shattering Star the original got, I like to think of this version of the theme as “Battle! Rose (Thunder)”; fittingly, God-Shattering Star is fully instrumental in its Thunder variant.
So hyped for Rose and Olena. I liked them a lot in SwSh but that part of the story felt rushed somewhat so they didn't get the development and characterization they deserved. Looking forward to seeing how Masters handles them.
"Somewhat" is an understatement. I liked SwSh more than most people seemed to, but honestly I felt like the entire detour of storming rose tower and dealing with the darkest day was a detriment to the game overall. Really could have been done a lot better... like moving it to the postgame and getting rid of Sordward and Shieldbert.
@@darkiusmc979 I really enjoyed the Darkest Day myself (and it was a neat detour as this whole time, Leon had been dealing with a lot of the stuff on the side so that we could focus on our gym challenge) the issue stems from the fact they were so light on Dialogue in those games (due to how vocal people were with complaining about the amount of Dialogue in Alola) so things weren't fully fleshed out. I get your issues with Shieldbert and Swordbert, they were a bit ridiculous, however they were meant to be a bit antagonistic as the initial Legend of Zacian and Zamazenta was rewritten by their ancestors to have them being heroes who assisted the two Legends, when it actuality it was just the Dogs (and potentially Calyrex and Urshifu).
@@AmirPrinceling More power to you if you liked that detour, but to me it felt like they forgot to have the usual big climactic showdown with the evil leader and legendary and just kinda crammed it all into that one part. I also just kinda... don't like Eternatus' design? Like it's intimidating and otherworldly-looking, which I think was the intention, but it also just kinda looks like an early model? That part's more of a personal thing than a genuine critique, though. Regardless, I just think putting all that in the middle of the league tournament just felt like it interrupted the pacing. As for Sordward and Shieldbert, my issues with them are less story-wise, and more just that I think they're really generic as characters. Like I struggle to really nail down personality traits other than egotistical and rude, and that's kind of standard for antagonists. I think the only thing about them I do like is a joke made upon unlocking them in the Galarian Star tournament about how they funded it but are so bad at battling that they never won a single round. Also, I personally view Urshifu and Calyrex' stories as being separate from mainland Galar's.
@darkiusmc979 Having a big climatic showdown is kinda par-for-the-course for Pokemon games, usually having the climatic between the one of the gyms, it was nice that Galar put it towards the end though I get what you're saying. I really wish they had spaced it out more as it was too rushed. And yeah, character-wise, Shieldbert and Sordward are not the most complex. They only really turn a new leaf after they get their comeuppance, though we don't see much of that. The Galarian Star Tournament, or their quotes when battles with other people, flesh them out a little bit more at the very least, but they're still fairly egotistic at the end of the day. And I understand why you'd view them as separate, though there's a lot of evidence that suggests that they're connected, specifically Calyrex and the Legends. For starters, Zacian and Zamazenta's Dex Entries: Zamazenta's Sword Entry: "Its ability to deflect any attack led to it being known as the Fighting Master's Shield. It was feared and respected by all." Zacian's Shield Dex Entry: "Able to cut down anything with a single strike, it became known as the Fairy King's Sword, and it inspired awe in friend and foe alike." Their other entries also mention "working with a king of the people". Simply put, the "Fairy King" and "Fighting Master" are theorized to be Calyrex and Urshifu respectively. Calyrex due to him once being a literal King of the Galar region, and Urshifu because he's stated to be the "Secret Armor" of the Dojo and is, of course Fighting. Some of Calyrex's Dex entries also seem to further hint at a connection: "Legend says that by using its power to see all events from past to future, this Pokémon saved the creatures of a forest from a meteorite strike." "It's said that this Pokémon once moved a large forest-and all the Pokémon living there-to a new location overnight." It's believed that the Meteorite mentioned in his Dex Entry was Eternatus landing on Earth and the forest he moved was the Slumbering Weald, due to the Weald's proximity to the Crown Tundra. Though I'll stop myself from going on a tangent, but that's pretty much the gist of it. It's all still mostly speculation, but it's very fascinating all-the-same. Also, I personally like Eternatus, but of course to each their own. It's a Skeletal Dragon so naturally it wouldn't look as "complete". I just wish his lore was a bit more expanded on, as he's still a big mystery on how exactly he works.

I know a lot of people don't like the story of SwSh because it's so barebones (I don't either) but the detail in Rose's Battle Start animation somehow really sicks out to me in a way that could have made a great and fleshed out story so much better.the slow and hard choir at the beginning sync perfectly with the camera goin in to Rose, then him looking down to his Pokeball, tightening his grip on it to then look back to the Protag determined that it's too late to back down. All that flies completely under the radar because most players at this poiint already gave up on the story and don't pay attention anymore. And I don't blame them.

I prefer the original but this does go pretty hard
This theme is so COOL
He's still a lame villain tho
*The real villain is Ghetcis, Rose doesn't want to kill the player he just wants to save the world, Ghetcis is the opposite of Rose, he wants to rule the world.*
It disappoints me that Chairman Rose's character and story was too vague. The idea had a lot of potential.
what in the fuck they went ham with this one.
that's such a beastly theme for such a lame villain.
Pickaxe sound effects are a WILD choice here.
ROSA SETO CRE- oh… nevermind the Latin choir didn’t make it to Pasio I guess
ワイとの出ててクソワロ
and before i heard this i thought i was going to skip rose...
This is too much in the mobile game lol (in a good way)
They removed the choir! I'm kinda disappointed. That's my favorite part of his theme!
What do you mean? I still hear the choir
@@pokem1stThey probably mean the part that sounds like “Go Rose, save everyone”, though it’s likely not what’s sung in the original version.
@@pokem1st 0:37. In the original SwSh composition, this part is sung by a choir. There's discourse over what the choir is actually saying, "Go Rose save everyone" vs the Latin "Rosa seda credo", roughly translated to "Rose's thorned belief". A very nifty duality. Rose believes what he's doing is right, he's going to save all of Galar. But in reality, he's misguided.
@@novemberninth4392 the "Rosa seda credo" thing is a misconception; it doesn't mean anything. closest it would mean is "I believe rose silk". Thorn is "spina", and credo isn't quite the right grammar
@@FM-cp6kcoh i thought it was ‘oooh santa rip off’
I hate this man SO MUCH for what he did to Bede..
but his battle theme's both slap.
he did nothing to bede
Bede deserved it
why did they give the worst 'enemy' the best theme lol
its more about the scenario & his delusions than him
