Great video Joe and, of course, Great pedal. I have a request for you: could you please do a video with a LP and this pedal showing some Neil Young amp about to explode riffs and another One with the Gretsch Duo Jet just to hear how this pedal sounds with Dearmond type of pickups? Thanks
awesome playing, interesting track with quite a retro tone and various style riffs. reminds me of a band called Jet, the tone they go for. check out "are you going to be my girl". love the pedal. excellent video mate.
The mid EQ is in a very different mid band compared to the amp, and it's not really shooting after a 'big' Tweed amp anyway - I just wanted to show that it can get you ballpark. But yeah, both sounded ace :-)
In all honesty, when I read what this thing's supposed to be or to do, I just thought "o no, here we go again..., another tweed style Fender amp in a box type of thing..., boring, seen that, hardly ever sounds good". But this one does sound good. I'll keep an eye on this pedal. Your demo was good as well. Again! Thanks.
Love the raspy sound this gets. Do you think you could get some chunk out of it too? I.e. does a palm mute on full gain with a humbucker sound percussive or does it just flub?
@@JoePerkinsMusic Great news, thanks! I've mentioned it before but you deserve many more subscribers. Your demos and comparisons are some of the best and the playing is lovely. Thanks for taking the time!
I’ve been searching for a pedal that does a great job emulating the overdrive of a 5e7 Bandmaster. It sounds to me like this Eggnog gets the job done! Are there any other pedal recommendations for a Bandmaster style overdrive, Joe?
If a guy was into Blues, Americana, or Alternative, a Fender or Fender voiced amp and you are done. At $250.00 USD it is accessible. Thanx again for showing us an important pedal that could slip threw the cracks.
It has a lot of level on tap (with it gaining up, the volume is at unity around 10 o’clock) So yes, definitely enough level & treble to feed a power amp directly, I’d say 👍
@@edwardgrassel872 The Sunkeeper is incredible for the British thing...monster pedal/preamp, that one! When I demoed it I tried it with an IR and it sounded pretty damn good!!
Killer opener, Joe. The Eggnog delivers some of sweetest harmonics and crunch I've heard, excellent demo.
Thanks :-) Yeah, it’s super-rich sounding 👍
Sweet intro, nice to hear that signature riff of yours in a fully produced recording:)
Aha, it needed to go somewhere, eh? 😉
Awesome Joe, this pedal is really something; thanks for sharing!
No problem - it is indeed awesome! :-)
This is fabulous, Joe.
Cheers Steve! 👍
Great demo Joe, and killer intro!!
Cheers mate!
Excellent demo and pedal!
amazing demo brother
good energy in that opener!
Killer tone Joe, love the track :)) more of that please
Gonna try to do more songs this year if time allows 👍
@@JoePerkinsMusic awesome would love that, or even an album? ;)
There's a couple of free albums on my website - though they're a few years old now!
Maintained the Status Quo nicely with the opening tune Joe!
Cheers pal :-) Was fun recording that one!
Uh Uh, guess who's back? Killer intro Joe. The pedal is suuuuper cool sounding. I wonder how it would sound with my Firebird.
Hey Enrico - good to see ya! :-) Bet it would sound mega with a Firebird!
Great video Joe. Love the intro! Excellent demo of the pedal.
Thanks Pete - it's such a killer OD!
Love the Eggnog Blues... a lot!😀
Thanks mate - really enjoyed recording it! :-)

I might make a follow up at some point, so I'll keep that in mind and include it if I can :-)
nice sounding pedal

Oh I know the song well - used to play it a lot in covers bands :P Cheers mate!
EQ on the pedal was scooped in the upper mids compared to the Dr Z. You could have gotten closer with an EQ rweak. Both sounded pretty good to me.

Glad you liked it...even unexpectedly! :-)
@@JoePerkinsMusic : Hahaha…, doesn’t everybody enjoy a certain element of surprise? 😬
@@mariodriessen9740 Absolutely!
Jesus, Joe, I'm Canadian, and I didn't even know about this company! I'm going to have to grab his sunkeeper pedal
Oh, it's amazing...such a wonderful pedal, that one!
Some serious Neil Young tone from that bad boy.
Yep - that just-starting-to-fold-in low end is beautiful! :-)
That Vajra sounds good, much be hard to find
One of a kind, as far as I’m aware. My favourite amp I’ve ever used, let alone owned!
Love the raspy sound this gets. Do you think you could get some chunk out of it too? I.e. does a palm mute on full gain with a humbucker sound percussive or does it just flub?
Definitely - it's fairly tight in the first mode, and then as you turn the boost up it gets progressively more spongy.

Joe can you please, please review something that is maybe a bit crap and isn't going to end up with me wanting to spend more money. 😂
I’ll design a pedal myself then! ;-) haha Apologies to your wallet!

This is the only tube Tweed pedal I’ve tried, but to be honest, I don’t feel the need to look anywhere else now!
Joe Perkins - Anime Bird of Prey.

Can this be used as a preamp or just a gain/boost pedal? I am looking for a small rig to plug into my fryette powerstation.

I could see selling my old Honey Bee for this. I’d be interested to hear how it stacks with a treble booster or fuzz face. Hint, hint.
Aha, maybe I’ll shoot a follow-up at some point!
I'm here Bro! 😎👍👋
👋
Why not plug it into a power amp? It's EXACTLY what it was made for
It's also designed to run as a front-of-amp OD pedal.
👍🏿🤘
