I always wonder why these guys dont get their hand some some of the larger unimog portal axles. Some are rated at 12 tons and have better gearing than the rockwells. And your diffs wont act as anchors.
I always wondered that too. But I guess it's because Rockwell axles and parts are easily available because they were/are used on US military vehicles. I would also guess the aftermarket is bigger for Rockwell vs Unimog axles.
Honestly FB mud truck groups is where you can find a lot of them.

That is some Dam fine footage you got. I don't live in the south or anywhere close to the east coast but I want to go on a summer road trip to check out some of these events one year. Some of these trucks are fully badass, Not like the lifted prissy mallcrawler diesels with skinny rubber. Ya know the west coast cali style cock-extention pickups, bought not built & with too much bling
