I have made two of these pendants, both using 3mm Czech matte metallic bronze iris melon beads because that's what I had in stock. Love the look of the melon beads! My next one will be with a 10mm rivoli and 3mm Czech firepolish beads. Thanks for another fun design and tutorial!

Lovely necklace Allie! Can’t wait to make one - or two! I was wondering if you could possibly have a closer view on the steps as you’re beading and go just a bit slower? It’s probably just me but seems like it would be easier to follow for those of us who are just learning how to bead. Thanks🩷
Please make two :) If you are having trouble viewing here is an additional video by Anna, who speaks way slower then Allie that might help you. www.potomacbeads.com/tiger-ti... (also, we will tell Allie to slow down, she is a fast talker).
I’m new to beading so please forgive me. Are you supposed to keep your thread tight throughout the project? I worked through the project about 80% and the cab won’t stay in my bezel. Too small for the bezel. Is it because I made it too tight?
Yes, if you used the correct size and amount of beads and the cabochon doesn't fit, it is too tight. When you re-do the project again, only pull tight enough to where the beads fit in nicely. Don't pull too tight. I tend to be tight beader because I do not like thread showing anywhere so I have also had to learn to relax a bit when beading certain projects!
I am kinda new too have done some projects . I about did it all but my cab would not fit either it kept coming out going to try it again I may try it with 8-0 seed beads. instead of the 11.
I tried using 8 daggers it still wasn't right(and I wouldn't call myself a new beader). I ended up glueing the back of the cab to the seed beads on the back side. I may try the idea of using 11/0 and 8/0. Or I may try 2mm round beads and 8/0 . like the idea its just frustrating
Another bezel pattern that’s too big for the suggested cabochon/rivoli. I bought the suggested daggers and cabochon and used 15 Miyuki and 11 Toho. Even after adding an extra row 15s on each side the cabochon stays in but rattles around. All the dagger beads are different widths.
Sometimes you need to play around with a design and make certain modifications. Different coatings and finishes can also affect the thickness of seed beads as well. Please let us know if you need additional help with this project :)

I have made 4 of these pendants in different colors and while I feel that they went up quickly I have had problems with the thread breaking whether it is being cut by a bur inside the bead or the tightness of my tension on the 15s I am not sure. I consider myself to be an advanced beader and have been making off loom beadwoven jewelry since 2003. I sell my creations at local craft fairs. Biggest problem is that I have been contacted by someone to make her one in a certain color with a beaded chain. When I went to put the pendant on the beaded chain I noticed that one of the threads was broken and the pendant was falling apart. I redid the pendant and now have finished the beaded chain. This customer also lives out of town. I am afraid that after she receives it, it might break again. I don't like the feeling that I could potentially lose a new customer. Because I have done a longer It also seemed to be at a 15. I have been using the Fireline 6 for years and have never had a problem like this. It just doesn't seem like it is strong enough Should I try and 8?
Hello! Could it have been a defective spool of thread? Have any other projects made with that same spool come undone? If not, you can try using a slightly thicker thread. Size 8 DragonThread is a great thread to work with, here is the link if you would like to get some! www.potomacbeads.com/brands/beadtec/DragonThread.html

Nope…it got a little faster out of no where ;)
We are so sorry this happened. If it too fast there is an option on UA-cam under the video to slow it down.

Would dagger beads 5*16 work as well?
Yes, it would make it a little smaller but still work the same way
Can you use a bead if you don’t have the cabochon
The bezel design is made to fit the cabochon, however you could add or subtract beads for the bezel to fit your needs

How long of a piece of dragon thread do you use?
5 ft would be the total but you can use manageable sections at a time and add more in when needed to not weaken the thread
