In Hamilton's and Laurens' letters, Hamilton's last letters weren't that passionate like at the start. But Laurens' letters started to be more passionate.
In Hamilton's last letter, he wanted to be more passionate again. But it's really doubtful that Laurens even read the letter. So Laurens probably died with a feeling that Hamilton doesn't have any affections for him anymore.

Hamilton witnessed near-death experiences multiple times in his life, his father left him, his mother fell ill, his cousin committed suicide and survived a hurricane. He felt like he was constantly escaping her. After many years, life finally favored him, they had won the war, he was able to return to his wife and meet his son, he was happy, but the death of Laurens showed him that death was still close to him. For this reason, upon learning of John's death, the only thing he says is "I have a lot of work to do", having lost his best friend made him feel that fear of running out of time again. When Burr said "Why do you write like you're running out of time?" Alexander was doing it for Laurens.

It's just heartbreaking all together. Not only did Lauren's and so many others die to end up not winning the battle. The people who were still alive went back to their masters. Making it seem like it was all for nothing. That Laurens and all those men who fought died for nothing. Really rubs the salt into the wound. It makes me cry everytime I hear this song because of that.

Why is it that when I started to leave the Hamilton fandom, Xel started to post Animatics? Am I not meant to leave this community? Yes, I am not aloud to leave, because everybody knows that, "You'll be back", when you leave this thing. FACT : (btw this is a common fact.)
Hamilton was so happy when the letter was sent and Eliza told him, because he used to send John love letters expressing us Un dieing love for John. But he started to add on his letters saying why won’t you respond etc because John would NEVER respond to his letters. When he was told there was a letter from South Carolina, he thought John finally responded.
And my heart went b00m.
