Thank you National Gallery for the exhibitions like this and for making UA-cam an interesting place.
Glad you're enjoy them, Vashik!
Thankyou very much !
I still have the copy of his study of a Hare, which adorned my bedroom wall as a child. He was, without doubt, a fantastic talent.
one of the most brilliant Artists ... x
An amazing and brilliant talent. To see one of his original works up close is life changing.
Thank you James, we hope you'll be able to visit the exhibition in person
You all are awesome!

One of the very best
Amazing talent. Unparalleled
A fascinating and very detailed post! Thanks to the National Gallery for posting such informative videos! Looking forward to watching the next one!
Thanks for informative videos like this.

For nearly 70 years I've been amazed by the artistry of Duerer (sorry, can't do umlauts on my machine!). Well worthwhile visiting his house in Nuremberg, even though it is (of course) a reconstruction. Much looking forward to this exhibition.
We look forward to seeing you in the gallery!
I ask myself that every day. "Why has God given me such great talent?"
A genius, absolutely adore his work🎨.
Thank you very much for this excellent video! 👏👏👏
I have just loved to learn so much about Albrecht Dürer in only 5:15 minutes!
You're very welcome, Suzana! If you'd like to learn even more, you can here: www.nationalgallery.org.uk/exhibitions/durers-journeys-travels-of-a-renaissance-artist#DocumentCards102769

Thank you for your information.
One of the greatest artists ever.
I heard he had also had a successful car hire service and had been a deputy sheriff of Dodge City for a while.
Thanks a lot. I’m relatively new to art/paintings. I live close to Nuremberg but have never really paid much attention to Dürer. I even wondered (till I saw your movie) whether he’s an internationally renowned artist. Well, he quite obviously seems to be. Very interesting.
Stefan, please do go see his works up close. Whenever his works travel, they are a draw for museums. People hear about his works coming to town and put it on their calendars as a must see! For art lovers, he's a modern day rockstar!
Talk about a balanced review...but I do agree, stunning work. From age 13 you could see it was a natural talent he had.
Hi wow wonderful work goodluck to you all
I cannot wait to get to the Durer exhibition at the National Gallery! I'm in love with the Hare :)
I did not take my first art history class (near Wash DC, USA) until my 50s and learned of Durer. I later went to his home/museum in Nuremberg and I seeked his art in Paris. I asked a docent in the Louvre where I could find the self portrait and he said the display was closed. I looked anyway and found it - it was not closed! Thank you for teaching me more!
I appreciate your page, SO much.....love Durer.
Needed to fade out the music badly! I can barely hear the people talk!
God I wish I could see this…
I have heard very little about him and this video is everything I wanted

@@nationalgallery 🙌🏻 💯 wonderful! Thank u!
Please reupload without music
One of the 1st artist who's portraits looked super realistic
Durer is up there with da Vinci.
He knew him
artistry that can only be aspired to.
I had to give up on this. The background music is so loud and my hearing is no longer good enough to hear the commentary over it.
Apologies you had difficulty hearing the audio, we'll keep this feedback in mind going forward. In the meantime please feel free to turn on the video subtitles.
🌺🌸🌻🌼🌷🥀
Just… sooo good
Ive Just understood, that Durer reminds me.....David Bowie....
National Gallery videos are great but the music on this is abysmal. Please, stop distracting us with "music" that has nothing at all to do with the artist.
3:12 What, he dreamt of the atomic bomb? 😮
This man is related to me, he's my grandma's great great great great... (continues) grandfather, my mom told me about him so now I'm hyperfixating on him lmfao
He had mad skills but I think his brush was sprinkled with fairy dust.
Az egyetlen festő abban az időben akinek magyar gyökerei vannak, realisztikus alkotási,főleg a nyúl részletes és tökéletes alkotás,szerintem. Nem a festő kinézete volt a fontos számomra.
I saw a charcoal picture when I.closed my eyes not sure who the woman is
Only five + minutes!
We have longer videos that go into Dürer's work in more detail here on our website: www.nationalgallery.org.uk/exhibitions/durers-journeys-travels-of-a-renaissance-artist
ahhh andura gone D

First portrait of an animal? Realistic landscape? A few millennia off.
He was a man suffering from god complex
