What a great idea! Potable ramps off the very truck transporting it- maybe a few of them and big cities could set up venues in tight spaces and maybe smaller ones for portable bmx to skaters? Cool portable concept!
That was a cool video and a smooth jump but all I kept imagining in my head was that ramp collapsed and you hitting the top of the back of that truck face first. It's a great idea but you need to build a ledge yet base for that run up. Not hitting something like that perfectly dead center leaves an opportunity for great mechanisms of injury. Good watching but just alittle more angsty than usual.
@@jayryan7473 thats what i meant to type... fat finger error!!! we all know 10mph too fast and 10mph too slow and were most likely going to the ER!! I never liked going off big jumps if I couldnt follow someone for proper speed!
"It's pretty safe" 😄 Be careful though, that ramp looks sketch as Hell. I loved the other Ocotillo video with the natural hill jump and 4 seconds of air time. Even that one had a squirrely approach though. Take care man, live on the edge but leave some margin, don't go over it. Sick talent, Travis Pastrana would be proud of you, but look how many broken bodies that guy has left in his wake...
Wish I had half the skill/balls you guys have. I'd probably jump more then 3ft off the ground then lol. Awesome video definitely looking forward to seeing more.
for setting up the ramp, we just placed it where it would look fun. for jumping it the first time, it’s a little bit of it all! for me it’s easiest to imagine jumping to the highest point of the landing that’s visible from the run in. for this jump that’s the backside of the landing/ harsh knuckle , which would probably end pretty bad. so i feel out how fast that would seem to be then just go a little bit faster and you’ll usually grease it!
@@JasonBorosky Honestly, thanks for responding. I rode motocross in the 70's. What you guys are doing today absolutely blows my mind. If I heard you correctly; it is your own brain and experience that does all the design and calculations. Did you know you have to be a genius to do all that? Genius comes in many forms, but it's a miracle of God either way.
Why do you guys gotta make ramp every where you go ? Much more exciting when u freeride and innovate . I think the new generation is taking innovation out of the sport .
Not worth the risk. Look at the rut just before the ramp 1:46 If the front gets thrown off even a few inches and you get off center on the ramp, you crash head first into the back of that open truck and that could take your head off. Jumping alone is risky enough but if you must do it- if it were me, I would use a proper ramp that is wide, has anti-skid stuff on it, etc. He also compresses the suspension too much which could cause the bike to bottom out. The ramp is not built right- too steep about 10 feet into it just after that first support. Very homemade looking ramps fail and people get paralyzed. To sum it all up- DUMB. They will learn one day, the hard way.
@@AZdhp No quite. I bet you are the type that will do stupid stuff- get really hurt then set up a go fund me begging others to pay for your poor life decisions.
@@moretrash4you You will not believe me, and I don't really care, but I was one of these meat heads. I almost raced motocross. I rode nearly every single day for about 10 years. Then I graduated to a street bike and also rode aggressively. I was more lucky than good. I ski. I have jumped off cliffs out West and was also an instructor. I also eventually got a brain injury that has been pretty rough. I have also witnessed people who suffered far worse than that. When you are younger, you have no fear. I did not. I figured if I fall, I will bounce back up. I usually did. Once skiing, I flipped about 20 times going 70mph at Vail, CO- China Bowl. I was in a full tuck and did not judge the bottom well and I kept going- far to fast to slow down and I hit moguls. You are right though, I did have floaties as a kid! I had helmets and flags on my bicycle too- but they came off when I hit about 12 yo. Now, I am much older- been there, done that. I know the extreme sport thing. I was never on the level of these guys, but I have seen the aftermath of injuries and for me now, a few minutes of fun is not worth the risk. Yes, they are talented athletes but it only takes one mistake to injury you for life. My friend recently fell on his motorcycle. He is in his late 20's. He will never walk again. He is miserable and stuck to his bed. I did not know brining a hospital bed into a small apartment was even a thing but it is. He no longer wants to be here. Just before his accident (going too fast- 150mph, he hit into the back of a truck that was nearly stopped in the slow lane), he was a very happy dude. He had a new son and good relationship. That is all gone now. Long story short, live your best life. I am not here to tell you to take your floaties off- I get it but life has a way of humbling people. You will learn in your own time. Decisions have consequences. Cheers!

That looks so massive and sketchy, even the shape of the ramp. Big respect to the guys hitting that.
Awesome how this sport has progressed!
If you did a tabletop or a no hands/no feet when I was a kid, you were the man! 😂
Thanks for working out the details for the drug mules.....

AWESOME VID AND JUMPS!
That's a pretty slick setup ⚡⚡
My biggest fear with jumping is **NOT** knowing exactly how fast to go
It comes with experience
Just hold it wfo!

How do you calculate the speed, angle and distance? Eyes, gut feelings, experience or do you have a mathematician with you?

I'd be the guy who's front wheel falls off the ramp 1/3 of the way up, and deposits myself in the back of the truck. Big nope for me.
They make 24”wide x 1-3/4 LVL beams that are 24 ft long 2 of those should fix this mess
F@ WEAK! Move it back, move it back, move it back, that was to f easy!
