Your point at the 15 minute mark about how ego isn't only the boastful macho man but also the timid person scared to be seen stepping out of line is very important.
Andrew, you may like the book "effective practicing for musicians" by Benny Greb. Although it's a different medium, effective practice is effective practice. And the drummer who wrote it is kickass. He hits on many comparable ideas that you're getting at.
And everyone told me I was crazy for thinking like this!!!!smh. The day I have the resources to come hang out for a bit. You will be seeing me. I've yet to fully commit to jujitsu and I plan on dedicating my life when I'm able to step away from my family and they don't die lol. Love the energy and commitment!!!!!
Suggestion for future videos: with regards to the sprinting exercises, it would be useful to know when you did those and when you made that progress, so that when one observes your current movements, was it because you just got better with sprints last month or are you talking about five years ago sort of thing. It would be useful to correlate the conditioning improvements to where they apply to current videos. And what kind of insane people do 40 sprint interval :-) I’m dead after three! 37 more to go I guess…
I just had my first match at Ultra, I lost twice. I agree with all of what Andrew was advising. I am just a hobbyist but I really want to get better and hopefully show my other team mates as well.
I'm an aspiring gumby, myself. I love when people try to push my legs up to pass, they go over my leg, and we just look at each other and im like "heya how's it going?"
Very, very good and useful point about focusing not only on mechanics of the move, but on the ‘reflex’ drilling, my only comment is that, to be exact it’s actually timing/seeing the opening and executing the move as quickly as possible (‘optimized recognition and execution drilling’ maybe’?) since technically a ‘reflex’ is not something you can control, it’s involuntary. Or I would present it as looking to aim to bring the move to an almost a ‘reflex’ level speed, efficiency and quality. Either way, thanks!
We have to face the facts, some of us will not become super flexible 🤣. Even with all the PNF stretching and different assisted types of stretches done daily. But yes we can all improve. NB: strength with stability through ROM is also important.
I sincerely doubt there's anyone that doesnt work on flexibility, without having a medical condition, that couldn't get much more flexible than they are now, which is the point. It's not a flexibility competition
The thing I don't get is if I don't stretch before I do my training I get injured almost guaranteed 99% of the time even after I do warmups everyday I'll get injured I can feel all the tightness in my body during warmups and as I'm rolling if I don't, can some one explain I stretch every day not because I want to but literally out of necessity because if I don't I will not be able to function doing physical activities which is why I stretch before and after training, I usually have a hot shower so my bodies warm stretch go to training do warmups, roll, than stretch after or when I get home, and everyone's always telling me don't stretch before than I'm like ok, oh look at that I'm injured again
Hey Andrew, I've got some notes written down I'd love to hear your opinion on. Would it be possible to send them to you for feedback? Thanks! =D - Jared

Negative reinforcement was right, playa! Cuz you're increasing your behavior (by taking away the aversive stimulus).
I absolutely love Andrew. He needs to be on Joe Rogan asap.
what is a gumby?
Creepily hyper flexible monstrosity.
Gumby was a very flexible rubber character in a kid tv show when I was a child. I am now 62. Search for Gumby and Pokey.
I like bacon
I still like bacon
first
That kid in green was getting on my nerves!!! How can you be so disrespectful to the point of sleeping during a seminar?!?! Unbelievable
second
so basicly a good coach can make ur progress go up and shitty coach can just make u waste time
It doesn't matter what you do, you are bad at first!
Just googled psuedoscience rapey yoga...
Okay maybe it's rapey yoga but there's definitely a science to it
