Great video! When I worked in the wagon shop at Dollywood, I always wanted to pinstripe, but was seldom able to. The shop lead who was their when I started was not keen on it. Later, a new lead allowed me to do a bit! It makes such a difference in the appearance of a wagon or carriage! Great job!!

The level of engineering that went into these old carriages is beyond what most of us imagined.

Every video show a new talent you have. Now the striping is impressive, but spinning the wheel with the hand holding the paint cup is magic! So much so that I paused the video to comment! I always think you should take a little bow after saying “Once again, thanks for watching”. Because I think most of us are applauding in our minds.

GASP! Watching you pull those smooth, symmetrical lines with that dagger brush.... wow... And, having had some experience with the Beugler (and having no abilities with it at all, even as a young man of 26, trying to add pinstripes to my own truck, it was a thing back then) I never had much luck. The guides were helpful, but as you mentioned; "A steady hand" is far more critical than you're letting on. It takes a lot of talent to make it look that easy, no small feat. Adding to the long list of talents you've mastered, "custom pinstriping". Not something I would have expected, but then again, not shocked. Thanks for sharing this.

You are truly an artist. Your composition in all aspects is proof. To be able to imagine in 3D what the project must end up as, and then do all the small tasks to see it come to life is a gift. You are absolutely gifted in many areas. You exemplify the meaning of Master Craftsman.

As I suspected, Dave is an artist! It takes a steady hand and a practiced eye to see clearly how a stripe best fits the piece. Thanks for explaining the two types of stripe painting and explaining where each has its strong points. Your videos have never failed to inform, to entertain, and to please. Speaking of please, will you please keep them coming?!!

In a former life I was a contractor specializing in insurance burnout rebuild jobs. Once house I redid had wood paneling painted spray can gloss white with gloss purple in the paneling grooves. I used a similar to Beugler tool with a glass bottle to redo the grooves. When I got paid for the job. I threw that thing as far as I could off of the I-40 Tennessee River bridge. I haven't used once since. That was 40 years ago. Great work.

Is there any thing you cant do.?? Back in the early 60's I bought my 1st. new car. I just loved how they used to pinstripe the old cars and thought "I can do that, I just have to do that" but how ? I got some electrical tape, (black, white, silver, and red) made a mandrel to fit the roll on a lathe and cut the tape in 1/8 and 1/4" wide strips and pinstriped that car. It looked like a million bucks. Took my car to the dealer for service, the owner of the dealership saw what I had done to it, went nuts, and put me to work doing a ton of them and in a very short time, my new car was paid for. Thank you for reminding me of the good old days and letting me remissness. thank you, thank, you thank you.

A mate of mine comes from a line of wheel wrights and cart builders going back at least to the 1760's, although by his grandfathers time in the 1950's it was finished as far as cart wheels were concerned, but they still had a good brisk business repairing ploughs, harrows, draw bars, chains and forging and welding the usual odds and ends and the occasional iron casting. He restored the smithy and cart shop around 10 years ago to make it habitable...that's how they knew it was at least as old as 1760 because the brick and lime cement foundations (which were in perfect condition) were mentioned in some old papers. It is highly likely there was a smithy there from the mediaeval times...The old roof was thatched, but after a bad fire in 1845 or so it was pan tiled instead. Before the building was refurbed, I saw the inside of what was once the paint shop where wheels and cart frames were coloured and lined. It was encrusted in one corner with so many layer of paint it looked like the coral reef. I have since seen people on youtube use similar from auto paint shops to make lathe turned pieces
