Rockhounding in dry creek beds is so hard! Everything is usually dirty and difficult to see or baked into the earth and impossible to get out. You came home with some beautiful stuff though! Thanks for the video!

12:00 thats probably Feldspar (pink) with Plagioclase (white) and Epidote (green).

Thanks for watching. Have you tumbled those Grand Mesa agates I sent you? I’m about to do a video with those soon.

Hey Kurt... At 12:00 & 12:50, both of those samples look like 'unakite' or 'unakite feldspar', they're a combination of pink orthoclase feldspar, green epidote & sometimes colorless quartz... I believe it's classified as a metamorphic 'altered granite'. I live up & over in the Fort Collins area, maybe we can get together next Spring or Summer & hit the river/sand bars, I'm a retired rockhound... I'm always looking down ;-)

The one at 12:00 definitely could be unakite, the other one is more pink orthoclase with mica, the dirt gives it a green tent. Hope your finding some cool stuff up there. Thanks for watching

Always fun to go on a rock hunt with ya! Sometimes it's not as easy as it looks, lol. Looked like a lovely location, though. Those greens were beautiful (so much better when wet!) and the galaxy should be cool when cut. Thanks for sharing!

Do you live in Rifle? I would love to come with you and learn! My kids and I found our first Barite crystal Saturday! Were excited to do more hunting!

Thanks Kurt. As usual you manage to see through the grime, dust and crust to some nice rocks that most of us wouldn't look at twice.

No help on what the rocks are. I call them all "pretty rocks". It looked like a good day. Be happy, safe and stay healthy. 😷⚒

Those look like some beautiful finds. The granites are my favorites. They get no love from most people. I would love for you to cut the basalt open if the weather permits! if not, there goes anything rock related till spring! I know how colorado weather is!

I agree that granites don’t get much love, I’m trying to show them love lol. I’ll be cutting those as soon as the snow melts

Looks like the rockhounding was very hit and miss.... nice job finding something worth taking home! Those kind of spots make me a better rockhound, keeping eyes open for anything different and not giving up hope!

I do not lick rocks for several reasons. If you listen closely you hear me spitting on the rocks 😂. Thanks for watching
