My theory for this movie is that the ghosts were locked up in holding and when she goes open them, she releases them into the rest of the police station which allow the ghosts to haunt her. This must be why Sargent Cohen warns her not to go into holding cuz he knew the place was haunted and that they were contained within holding until she releases them.

@@hiroshiramasendjews9539 it's called Last Shift. I'm guessing it's the movie's imagery along with how it plays on "is it all Jessica's imagination? Every single bit that unfolds?"
I recently started work as a Correctional Officer at a maximum jail and one day I got inducted into my new work area which was a fish bowl style pod with a office in the middle surrounded by cells all around me so I could eye all the cells and vice versa. Veteran officers told me how they always keep cell 53 empty. It use to be occupied by a very long term inmate and one night he slit his own throat in his cell out of loneliness. The officers told me to never turn your back towards cells 53 for longer than usual as "he" will stare at you from his cell door slit window. One night I was working in that pod which was undergoing renovation so all of the inmates were transferred to a different pod but I had to be there for postal requirements. I swear that night shift was nerve racking as I felt somebody in that cell door window keeps staring at me whenever I turn my back around to use the computer...
I can't even lie. The first time I saw this movie, I was alone in the dark in my apartment, and it was late at night. This movie had me scared as sht. The first time a movie has done that in 25 years when I was 10yo. And I don't even really know why it had me so shook like that.
I wonder if the homeless man and Marigold are her hallucinations as well. How did the homeless man appear so quickly within a few seconds from when Jess stepped out of the door? Also seemed to much of a coincidence for the lady who knows about the Paymon to appear outside of the station in the middle of the night smoking cigar
Don’t really have to urge to keep watching, pretty unnerved by the nature of the setting. Seems dumb to have one rookie cop watching an entire station by themselves, whether or not the chief or whoever knows about the creepy stuff.
@@jaimep456 In my opinion (as some random person on the internet) the first half was proper creepy, had an almost eldritch horror feel like something was definitely _wrong_ with reality, but you couldn't tell which parts were actually happening. Then as the puzzle pieces came together revealing everything was the work of spooky scary ghosts, grudge on the MC's family and yadda yadda... It kinda stopped being scary, for me, lost the unknown factor. Also it suffered from showing the baddie too much - the bloody hooded ghost figure was great unnerving WTF material appearing for a second behind a window or at the end of a hall or whatever. Up close for a prolonged period, starts looking like a goofy costume. The ending... Eh it was fine. Wasn't as much of a suckerpunch as this made it out to be, mostly because the main character was just _so dumb_ having finally figured out ghosts were messing with her she decided to trust a phone call from her definitely-dead dad luring her back in. I'd written her off as basically doomed at that point, although the exact way it went down did surprise me which was refreshing.

While I think this movie had problems with how it was executed and I wasn't fond of certain aspects of the plot, this was a fairly solid movie as it has a coherent idea that it sticks to. I think that why I everyone I know that’s seen this one has so much appreciation for it. Even people who don’t necessarily like horror, like this one. For me it reminds me of John Cusack’s 1408 movie, a movie that had problems, but is so committed to its premise and has a lead who is clearly acting her guts out that it’s great nonetheless

She really did that man dirty. She said it’s not real but even the homeless man see’s it which should have given her that shîts real asf lol 😂
I kind of love the override of the trope of "don't investigate! Why would you do that?" Because she's a cop and kind of HAS to check
My theory for this movie is that the ghosts were locked up in holding and when she goes open them, she releases them into the rest of the police station which allow the ghosts to haunt her. This must be why Sargent Cohen warns her not to go into holding cuz he knew the place was haunted and that they were contained within holding until she releases them.
love this theory 😮 never thought of it like that !

So true

I would have just went home the moment they told me that i'm guarding an abandoned police station.. Like wtf? i'm police officer not a security guard duh! Suspend me if you want.
Or you can just guard it and most likely no ghosts will pop up.

I remember seeing this movie years ago in the middle of the night. Scared the living daylights out of me. The atmosphere is so tense and creepy- even if the storytelling isn't perfect or entirely cohesive, the unsettling events are enough to make up for an unnerving experience.
What is this movie called?
I swear that night shift was nerve racking as I felt somebody in that cell door window keeps staring at me whenever I turn my back around to use the computer...
that's really scary..

**Something happens**

I can't even lie. The first time I saw this movie, I was alone in the dark in my apartment, and it was late at night. This movie had me scared as sht. The first time a movie has done that in 25 years when I was 10yo. And I don't even really know why it had me so shook like that.
I wonder if the homeless man and Marigold are her hallucinations as well. How did the homeless man appear so quickly within a few seconds from when Jess stepped out of the door? Also seemed to much of a coincidence for the lady who knows about the Paymon to appear outside of the station in the middle of the night smoking cigar
probably a ghost that died there too
Don’t really have to urge to keep watching, pretty unnerved by the nature of the setting. Seems dumb to have one rookie cop watching an entire station by themselves, whether or not the chief or whoever knows about the creepy stuff.
Yeah
@Bloofa was the movie as scary as this recap makes it seem
Yeah that was the one thing I could never get if the building had some previous trouble it’s not a good idea to leave a rookie alone to tend to it late at night maybe have a group of three at least so they don’t freak out from the loneliness
@@GoldenPantaloons right on appreciate it. By the way are u from the UK? While I think this movie had problems with how it was executed and I wasn't fond of certain aspects of the plot, this was a fairly solid movie as it has a coherent idea that it sticks to. That, to me, is a rare thing to find in a horror movie (having watched far too many), so this movie got a rare passing grade from me.
