There was no reason at all to get upset at the Aldi customer, I think that may have been misplaced frustration.
two things that need to change with Instacart is paying less for refunds and not paying more for a add on, I've had customers add like 10 to 15 extra items with no extra pay

I feel like you guys give up way to quickly on finding items. You should partner with the store employees more to help find items. This is in regards to the Aldi order but also on alot of the shopping orders you need to pay close attention to the item details up front and not be in such a hurry bc sometimes you miss items from the rush and then Mary stresses and it all goes down hill from there🤣😄😬

snyder gold uses a larger salt chip on their pretzels - I know I know but it does make them just a little salter and the salt chip are fun to nibble off - I get their pretzel sticks personally.

I love Aldi and I tip well, wish you drove in Boston. When you shop Aldi, you have to select replacements and/ or go with your shopper’s suggestions for replacements

In order to qualify for the program for next month you need need (by 11:59 pm on the last day of this month): customer rating of at least 4.7 + Acceptance rate of at least 70% + completion rate of at least 95% + 100 completed deliveries during the last month + at least 200 lifetime deliveries completed

Just a tip for Aldi:
Look at the tag if what you want is on the tag. You may have to dig for it. The spots sometimes have multiple items in it. :)

Relatable!! Instacart do better 🤣 I always say that when my tip goes down when I have to refund. How is it our fault as shoppers that the stores aren’t in stock lol. We’re working based off the total we thought we were gonna be getting! Keep up the great work guys! 🎉
Aldi is good and bad they seem to be out of stuff quite often unfortunately. We also don’t enjoy the bagging process especially if you are doing a multi shop order other than that we take Aldi all day for sure 💪🏼💪🏼 Really enjoyed this challenge hope to see more in the future for sure so much fun 🎉

I have to say I really enjoy watching you guys you are my biggest inspiration while I'll do my instacart and doordash . I tried to stay away from Aldi's orders they can be a pain especially if you request a replacement and customer comes back wanting a refund that always irritates me. The amount of Instacart orders that came in while you were talking to dash support 😱🔥 I need those in my area my average is like $10-13

I’ve never been to that particular ALDIs, I know exactly where everything is in the one in Selden (where I do most of my Instacart and DD orders). I understand your frustration with subbing items and refunds. Most of the time the customer doesn’t add an extra tip for your extra effort, and you lose money for wasting time and having to issue a refund! lol, I totally understand. I usually have to refund some items no matter what store I go to. I love you guys! You guys are hilarious, reminds me of when my girlfriend and I go DD and instacarting together, you guys are a great team!

I love taking Aldi batches as long as it's only 1 shop & deliver (2 at most if the pay/mileage is good). My anxiety level was high when you were shopping there cos I know that store a lot since it's just behind my house so I often go there. Wish I could just scream through my phone whole watching you hahaha! Very easy to shop at as long as you know where everything is. I was stumped when I first saw that Lunchable packaging though and thought it is different from the usual.
OMG! My daily complaint about Instacart, with the refunds! If I looked for and offered replacements for an item that's out of stock I shouldn't have that amount deducted from my tip. I technically did the work and its not my fault the store didn't have it.
Some people tip a flat rate so your pay is not necessarily reduced

I have Aldi's here (first time I saw them) where I moved to and what has worked for me to get used the store and get my time down (although Mary is very fast) is just shop in that area you are in and move on quickly if you aren't sure where something is (ask staff and/or look for later). I usually start in that first aisle before the produce if there is one. Go to produce and get anything you need from that aisle right next to it. Then I move on to cheese/meat section. Then dairy, then frozen. Finally I will work my way to the inner aisles since some things are only on end caps. Even doing what I've suggested and put in practice I still have issues finding items and will have to ask the staff...and yes it still gets frustrating from time to time.

Also, I love shopping at ALDIs myself for my personal groceries, cuts my groceries in half! Also I’ve found for me the worst store to shop in for insta cart is stop and shop! Such a massive store and people want such oddball items lol

Instacart can be great except when every item you need to find is not available 🎉🎉. When it started getting to frustrating I had to stop And Instacart help is a joke.Ya and then the drive getting messed up. I was in Seattle so again arghhh lol🎉your banter sounds like my mind back then😂😂😂😂

I’ve been watching you both for a couple of days. Love the channel. Let me settle the pretzel thing for y’all. It was probably because the other brand costed more. It was also probably an impulse buy and the customer thought I’ll just get them on my next grocery run. I know when I get a Walmart pickup I get annoyed when they give me a more expensive brand. Just a thought.
This is exactly why I do Instacart pickup for my Aldi’s orders because the actual store employee is doing the shopping and will find it easier and the service is fast 😂 I stopped doing delivery with Aldi because non-store employee people can’t find anything lol.

I once did an Aldi order and would never do one again unless it has a very high tip on it... it would have to be above $1.50 an item (vs my usual $1 per item). Been having even better luck with Walmart shop & pays - got one that was $53 + $10 tip last night for 40 items and 3 miles; got it done in 45 minutes b/c they have everything streamlined and organized in terms of order it shows in the app. You do have to use your own judgement for replacements - no chat yet but they do have that on their roadmap.
How com lou so easily puts the phone in the holder. Mine i have to fight with it to stretch it, then it feels like its going to break

You guys have probably figured this out by now, but Aldi is owned by the same company as Trader Joe's. It's a German based company. They have their own brand names (Simply Nature, etc.) and sell select national brands. And yes, it can be very hit or miss. I would hope a seasoned customer such as the one you had would realize that! You guys did great regardless.

Also, idk if you know but you don’t have to shop at the stop & shop they show so if you’re dropping off an order away from the store you can check if there’s one nearby where you’re dropping order and shop there
Mary & Lou i don't have a car & turo said they don't allow doordash but what about other like rentals?
Im not 100% sure. I have heard you cant use rentals. My guess is it could be an insurance issue. That being said we have done it. If you look in our archive of videos we have one where we used a rental.

DD really F'ed up with all these programs. Putting the highest rated, highest quality drivers at the bottom of the barrel & lowest quality at the top. How can they possibly revert back to the way things used to be & take the punch bowl away??

As a customer I’d try to change my tip on that Aldi order. It certainly wouldn’t encourage me to do delivery again. Personally I hate when my shopper sends me messages every 2 minutes. Normally you are shopping because I am busy and unavailable. This wasn’t customer friendly at all.
Time for you to personally shop at Aldi. I wouldn’t be taking Aldi orders until you become familiar with the store.
This shop made me dizzy watching.
So as a customer would you put replacements for each item? Because this customer did not, or select refund? That’s why us shoppers contact regarding items that are not in stock. I think to change the tip would be a little dramatic because they did look for the items and tried their best. I do think their frustration with the customer wasn’t ok but that deserves a tip change because she didn’t add what replacements she wanted from a known store to have many out of stocks??
The substitutions people won’t accept is amazing. The store was out of trop50 no pulp with calcium, so suggested trop50 no pulp no calcium. The lady said no and asked for full sugar Tropicana (which was out). No juice for you I guess. Also please shop for yourself.
Remember guys , Don’t go by how the item looks in the app , sometimes labels look different in the store depending on the season of the year, just check the barcode it’s quicker and also something that works for me when i cant find an item , i show the customer just 2 or 3 options instead of taking a photo of the whole isle 😄
So frustrating when you think you are getting a decent order and it turns into a nightmare. And yes, Lou, I agree it's a guy thing! My husband knows where the bourbon is in a store, but if I send him for capers he can't seem to find them!

I can't say I agree with doing a shop & pay order with someone else's food in your vehicle. Is this what happened? If so, that delivery would have been better taken by another driver and that customer with the Mets shirt would have gotten his food at least 25 minutes sooner, if not 35 minutes sooner. Or did you get that order while you were doing the shop and pay? It isn't clear in the video.
They had got the order at the same time, it was a stack!
It was an instacart stack. The customer with the Mets shirt was the Petco customer. It was a Petco/Stop & Shop stack.

I had someone the other day want me to refund them. She wanted delight zero sugar creamer which they didn’t have so I replaced with cafe mate zero sugar creamer. I was like WHAT why wouldn’t u want that replacement. It was fine tho the tip was $1 and change less but it was still like $27 tip…still worth it.
Just started instacart. I commented recently asking how long it would take to get accepted. I never received an email I went it to app didn’t say “no spot available” anymore so I chatted with them they sent a general message “no spots available in ur area” the next day I chatted again. Got accepted. Instacart blows my mind sometimes 😂

Ooftda, your shopping experiences stress me out. There’s gotta be a more convenient way. Mary just needs to grab and go and not expect Lou to grab everything, especially when she needs to scan.
