This is the fight of fights. The difficulty spike of this whole encounter is surreal, and I believe that Strawberry Bose added Akyuu's storage and all its perks in the remake to help players with this ordeal - when I beat this boss for the first time around 2012, you had to do it the HARD way. That said, on my first successful attempt there I got really lucky and landed a fujiyama crit for about 48000 damage, almost half its total health.
This is a very messy attempt and I made a lot of blunders...
- Satori applying debuffs didn't work at all, and I didn't invest in her MP instead
- no lightning resistance on your phase one tank, don't do that
- applying dark sword too early, it expires very fast
- getting Alice killed on the first turn instead of just covering Mokou... then again, they could have destroyed the rest of the party on turn 1. Frankly speaking, I have no idea how to survive the last phase for more than 3 turns.
Other than that I'm happy how this played out. Being super slow on the first phase is the only way I can handle this encounter, it kind of worked since they only summoned basic mooks. When the bosses can't summon any more, they will instead use their worst attacks - it's your call whether you clear the summons or leave them alive. Leaving the minibosses alive is dangerous, and blowing all your MP and bombs on respawning enemies isn't desirable.
