Came across your channel a couple of days ago...I've been glued to my screen. Superb work! I had a train set when I was a kid. I'm now 54 years of age and yesterday afternoon I went into town and purchased the Tornado pullman express set by Hornby. Watching you work has inspired me. Thank you for the great vids and thank you for the inspiration!

Richard that methods of connecting the SMD LEDs using brass tube is just brilliant. Railway Modellers never stop amazing and inspiring me with their ingenuity. Well done on getting published. You've created a fantastic layout that has such a great look to it.

Bloody good job with the shed - it looks fantastic. I have to say the Everard Junction shop workers are probably the cleanest and tidiest railway workers ever - the inside of the shed is immaculate, not a piece of scrap anywhere!
    Great job - impressive results

I'm not surprised your layout has been featured in a model railway mag your videos are helpful and addictive. 6 months ago I pulled out a broken old Hornby loco, while researching how to get it working again i came across your videos. You inspired me to set up my own layout. Thanks for all your help. Dan from Australia

I started my layout a couple of years ago at least. I had almost forgotten there was a semi-complete railway above my head until I got bored one day and came across your channel again. I started watching and it inspired me to get going again. Been and wired the permanent lighting and layed the floorboards up there. You did that :)

I have just watched the construction of your siding area videos back to back, fantastic. I have a grandson of four and he is train crazy, he doesn't know at the moment that model railways even exist in this form, there will soon be a visit to the Hornby Centre at Margate I'm sure. You have reignited my passion of railway modelling from 50 years ago, I am also sure that me and my grandson will be spending a lot more time in the loft over the coming years. I have subscribed and now off to watch some more, carry on the good work.

Can I just say I really enjoy your channel. As a young lad I had a Hornby layout, in fact I still have it packed away but unfortunately with family and work commitments I have no time, space or money to take up the hobby again. Your layout is a kind of surrogate for me and I am sure that I am not alone in this. You did inspire me to dig out my locos and take them to a model railway exhibit. Where 3 out of 4 run for the first time in probably 35 years. Well done keep up the good work. One last point as an ex video editor your videos are really well done and look very professional.

Congratulations and well deserved recognition for all your modelling work/play and your dedication to putting addictive UA-cam videos together. I was fortunate to find your videos in the new year (2016) and have been binge watching them ever since. Think I'm caught up now. You mention at the start of this video that you're surprised how many people are into model trains; well I'm sure you've inspired many (like me) to take the plunge over the years and guess there will also be many who just live the dream through your videos and marvel at a true artist at work. Just joined the club this last couple of days, so looking back over your videos. Great workmanship from a skilled worker and the time you must take in doing the work shows on the layout, keep up the good work. Can I also say I enjoy your videoing, and talk over, I have not always enjoyed some on the tube, with unsteady videoing, loud music, or no talk over at all, I soon get bored. Brought my copy of the Hornby magazine, an excellent article Richard, well done. The shed coming on nicely, BIG but nicely. It reminds of the trains sheds at Ramsgate Depot when I was based at Faversham in the good old B.R NSE days. You need to get all sorts of crap all over the floor so the staff and crews can trip arse over whats its as I used to do. LOL. Keep up the good work.

Well done for the article. I just join the "Junction" a few months ago. You do some outstanding work sir! I'm playing a bit of catch up to the past videos, but I am in love with the job you did building the carriage shed. Awesome job! You also gave me heat attack when I came a cross the video when you started taking the layout apart! I understand your reasoning though, and I can't wait to see and follow the rebuild of the new "Junction".

  • @jimlee8805
    @jimlee8805 8 років тому

I have been following your "how to" videos for some months now and must say that your layout and dedication to detail is excellent. I do not have a layout (nor intend starting one), but since 1965 I have always had an interest in model railways; my interest came from my first job which was working in the model railway department at Hamleys in Regent Street.
What I find absolutely amazing is how much the scenery side of things has improved, non of the point rods existed and of course the there was no static grass, if anything "grass" always looked rather too bright.
I think there is little improvement you could easily make to your lay out and that is to include some animals. One of the gardeners in the allotments could have a dog, a swan and/or ducks on the canal would be very realistic especially if someone was "feeding" them; some rabbits along the embankment would look good and possibly even a deer in the woods over the tunnel mouths. This is purely my thoughts and I understand if you and others disagree.
Anyway thanks for the enjoyment and education you have been giving me.

  • @MotoCrazy66

Far canal! That's a goodun, my good man! I can quite understand why you have had so much interest, as your videos are very down to earth, practical and informative. And you never whine about a few dislikes either. A measured attitude to it all is always a good idea, and you always have that.

Congrats on making it to print and I love how you still don't put ads on your videos, keep up the good work, she'd is looking great, I kind of know how it feels having to move that size of building about as I did a similar build about a year ago, not quite as long and I just used old double canopy hornby platform sections, I was going to add further sections but once I found out my entire layout had to come down I thought it was pointless. I have a new location for starting again though and can't wait to get stuck into building it again. Family comes first though so I'm still not sure when I can get stuck back in, well done again though 👍 Bri

I`m still building my layout my period 1940s - 1960s it is a bit more ambitious based on the great downs line Reading to Bristol and also Waterloo to all the coastal areas So have a lot of fiddle yards so that i can run lots of different period loco`s which i find is a lot of fun. thank you for all your time filming your layout has given me lots of ideas for my layout. one of your biggest fans.

Just a note to congratulate you on not only a wonderful layout, but on a well deserved spread in Hornby. I get a kick out of you, as a professional railroader here in the states, I often laugh at the terms you use to describe things in British railroading. As in the engine you call a shunter, we call a switcher. LOL...best to you sir, I hope some day in my journeys abroad to meet you. Until then, keep the videos coming, and lets see how far you get in this video with the godaweful shed....BTW, after you get done with it, be sure to toast the volume of work you have done on it with a couple fingers of 20 year single malt scotch. Well done sir.
