    I love how every tv presenter that went on Hyperia asked John, 'John what did you create?'

    It's kinda cool that this clip represents the thematic concept of the ride, that of overcoming your fear.

    I used to find flying quite stressful if the view from the window was visible to me. But I realised that the view is actually really wonderful. I know actually really enjoy the experience of flying - that said, airports are frustrating.

    To be honest, if you find something scary, I think the tips would be :
    1. Breathe (that is a good one)
    2. Do NOT listen to the voice in your mind. Just practice clearing your mind of any words. That's why focusing on breathing works, but it's good to understand why you do it.
    So... focus on anything. Be in the 'now'. The now / the present.. being in that doesn't mean focusing in on the fear you're feeling, that's not actually being in the 'now'. Being one with life, not your mind - that's where it is. Listen to birds, chatter, listen to the wind, focus on anything, ANYTHING but your mind saying 'crapcrapcrapcrapcrap!!!'.
    Because 'crapcrapcrapcrapcrap!!!' won't help you. But not listening to negative thoughts and emotions you have WILL. That is honestly the best way to conquer fear.
    If you do all that... you won't create half as much cortisol if you're stressed. Fear is all in the mind. And the 'have fun' part will probably just, happen!
    And hey - you may still find you don't like the roller coasters. And that's fine. But you will almost certainly find that if you don't like it, the negative feeling you have from riding won't even be 10% as bad as the feeling your mind was creating in anticipation and fear, of what it THOUGHT it would be like. And it always way, way misses the mark for how scary it'll be!!!

    One has to be able to evacuate from the top of that hill, so sadly but logically,
    those who would struggle cannot ride any fairground or theme park ride where their safety may be a risk.

      People who use wheel chairs can go on the rollercoasters they are lifted on to it no problems but people wearing prosthesis carnt who can walk on and off the ride it's a very grey area and very frustrating but we are working with alton towers the last 2 years to make them accessible to all people with prosthesis!! Did you know there's not one ride you can go on at thorpe park if you a double below knee amputte not even mr monkeys banana boat Ride 🤣 or the tea cups

    Sick of these media spots in Britain presenting these rides as if they were made by the parks themselves without acknowledging that most of the work is done my the ride manufacturer - an actual engineering company. You watch Belgian, German, Dutch etc. reports of rides opening out there and they usually mention them so why not here. Sadly I don't know but it's shallow journalism.

    • @davidsthemeparkadventures
      @davidsthemeparkadventures  5 місяців тому +9

      They do acknowledge Mack rides in the queue line videos. I don’t think the engineering side is interesting to the average watcher unfortunately. I would love to see a documentary with Mack rides and Merlin magic making on how the ride was designed.

      I'm not angry I just think it's a big shame. More the fact there's so few opportunities for young people to get into these sorts of engineering roles in the UK. I don't enjoy how theme parks are presented here because they enforce this perspective of the theme park industry and being cheap, a bit crap and not a proper profession. Don't get me wrong I'm not expecting a full blown documentary, but kids are intelligent and I know 8 years ago when I was watching Newsround I would've wanted to know more than it was just thought up by John Burton and then they made it. I don't know, it feels like a misrepresentation than lack of information due to it being a kids show, even if that wasn't the intent.

    I love the BS when they say how afraid they are of even the tiny rides like flying fish then all of a sudden after riding Hyperia (I think I like this) and back on for a second ride. Clearly they love coasters and the bigger ones. Just wish they wouldn’t go through this whole act of pretending

    • @davidsthemeparkadventures
      @davidsthemeparkadventures  5 місяців тому

      It more than likely optimised for TV entertainment. Hopefully it will have a positive impact to encourage their younger viewership to visit theme parks and drive further investment into the UK industry.
