Awesome looking compost - thats one issue I face as a one person household with a small food forest and garden - not enough available plant material to make my own compost and mulch. You are totally blessed with a big supply of manure, spent plant material from the market garden and fallen trees etc from your forested area. Buying compost and mulch in plastic bags soon gets expensive! I collect garden trimmings etc from my neighbours, and the rainfall is too low for farming round here (halfway up the west coast of Australia), but a lovely farmer from around 150km further south brings up bags of farm composted cow poop on a truck every couple of months and sells it to the gardeners round town😄
Just a thought... I always put a layer of hardware cloth down first... after your soil gets established an the worms show up then here come the moles !!! Worms good... Moles bad... 😎
Just last night I was thinking about you and was wondering where you were. Was starting to get concerned. Missed your smiling face and the joy you bring. Thank you for sharing your life and knowledge with us.
KIM! First time saying hello, rude yes I've been watching for over a year now. During election crap you were an entertaining escape. So thank you! I don't understand how you're not getting 50k views on your episodes? They are informational, and you being you is a hoot to watch. Last year was my first year gardening. Never grew a dang thing before. 6 months of UA-cam and it was a success! Curious if you do any indoor plants during winter to keep your hands dirty still? I've started some house plants and miniature tomatoes and peppers. Keep it up, and thank you! ❤🎉😊🎉
I do love watching your antics, hi jinx(lol) & growing. I LOVE your unquenchable enthusiasm! I share some of your pains about the weather. I live in East TN. We are zone 7 but the summer is always a drought too. Such an inspiration. I built my raised beds (4/ 6x9x18") a couple years back... Along side my row-by-row garden. I do love them. I have elephant garlic, purple and soft neck garlic in one. Salad, collard, kale and mustard greens in another. The 3rd has late season tomatoes around the edges hanging out to the ground & with lotsa spinach... The 4th is resting. Waiting for early spring re-planring for what doesn't survive the winter. I used geotex under the compost. I have bad Bermuda Grass 😬 so, I went extreme. Lol. Can't wait to see how yours turns out. And, yes... I have been wondering where you've been... I suspected hibernation seeing as how much you dislike this time of year and the bcold 😊
Those are delicious in stir fry or when used to make a daikon radish relish. I've also made pickled mix daikon and carrots. Enjoy the fruits of your labor.
I’ve missed you! Look daily praying for a new video 🤣 so where do I go to watch your videos now? Never heard of the “place” you mentioned. So excited to watch your new videos.
Please remember one thing. Hill culture really makes the most sense if you just build hills, which then become flatter over the years. In a raised bed the soil level slips further and further down and you have to disturb the soil again by taking out the good topsoil, topping it up and then filling the topsoil again. The only option is to keep topping up the compost layers. If you have voles, it's a good idea to put a grid under the raised bed. I make hilled beds with wood and I fill raised beds with topsoil. it is fashionable to throw the two together. The hill beds also have a different microclimate because there are sloping sides, which a raised bed cannot do
i got 6 metal raised beds.. 3 x 6. 1 feet tall. 3 yrs ago... at 50$ each from amazon... i didnt like the color... so i did spray paint them black... i grow mostly cut flowers... i love them
I don't get raised beds. Why can't you just grow the exact same thing at ground level? You could put a border around it. There are ground covers that will cover out any weeds and fill in. That's part of the art of landscaping. Colored mulch or woodchips work great. Peonies and mums would be perfect there. And you got the front shovel on the tractor and free dirt and filler. Made it more easy breezy. But,... show us the way, 'ol Great One. I'll just have to check the "Intriguing" Box on this one. I'm not sold on it.
Several reasons...soil compaction, poor nutrient soil that would take years to improve, maybe people age and can sit garden. I'll stop there for now. Keep growing 😊
Its awesome that you are doing a patreon. I bought a book recently, square foot gardening. For raised beds the concept is awesome. You get alot more out of little spaces, might be worth checkin out if you havent already. Good to see you guys are doin well! God bless!

oh.. as a canadian i just dont understand this... i love her but that just made wonder...i didnt come here for a debate... are we going back 60yrs.. what my grandma fought for in quebec is precious...enough of men deciding for women....
So how many personalities did you say God has, and is God everywhere? John 17:21 “That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.” Wait so we are also one with them too? OK, that's about around 200 thousand thousand if you count the angels too. And if God is already everywhere then who is the Holy Spirit? It is God Himself, not yet another personality; that's schizophrenic, multiple personality syndrome. There is no Trinity or Virgin Birth. God & Christ is not the same person!
Best way for long term soul building🦾🦾🦾💯 where im at in Maryland the rotting wood jus draws out the slugs, but once u get rid of them the possibilities are endless
I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Kennedy was saying the other day that restoring soil is a priority. 😊
Nice work! No frost yet an vegetables just keep giving, vegetable gruel hot on the stove constant too!😅
Harvesting daicon radish November 12th down here in MO. Trying them for the first time. Nice work and great video!

@monkeymommy778 I really enjoyed greens raw with peanut butter dip. The raw root, not so much. Will try stir frying the root next.
