I just started collecting fire alarms since December of 2021! While on a trip to Ohio for holiday break, I visited a fire safety company who let me have a fire alarm system that came from a real building! I couldn’t be in this hobby without UA-cam friends like you who are into fire safety! Really special thanks, I’ll have content of it soon, and I’ll continue to support your channel!
happy new year! It is weird because the solo A4 smoke spray works great. maybe one is for ionization and the other photoelectric. I know here in the US there is one called smoke sabre which everybody loves but I'm not sure they have it in Canada.
Question: do musical fire alarms exist? For example, when a pull station is pulled (or detector activated), a prerecorded evacuation instructions are played over the PA system with background music. I'd imagine that could help calm a panic situation, or add comic relief depending on the music played (for example, light instrumental jazz/funk to calm, or the Can-Can or Chicken Dance to add humor).
No, musical fire alarms don't exist. When there's music playing from speakers or speaker strobes and then the fire alarm system goes into alarm, an audio switchover relay will switch to the fire voice evacuation message from the voice evac panel instead of the music from the music player. When the system is reset, the audio switchover relay will switch back to the music that's playing from the music player. This also exists at many Walmarts
I'd personally recommend Smoke Sabre, it has numerous advantages over most other testing sprays: it's pretty much impossible to damage a detector using it unlike other aerosols, (usually) less aerosol is needed to test most detectors, thus it lasts longer, the can sprays upward instead of forward (meaning you don't have to strain your wrist aiming at the detector, the extended sabre also means you don't have to hold the can so close to the detector), & it's even environmentally friendly & recyclable (which according to Smoke Sabre themselves no other spray is). I use it & it works great. I see you replaced the System Sensor LF L-Series sounder/strobe for a standard L-Series strobe, when & why exactly though I have no idea (especially since the LF arguably has a much less annoying & earsplitting sound). 11:26 Were you seriously about to say "Sh*t!", but decided to cut the curse short? Your outfit in this video honestly reminds me of those worn by Jamie Davis' crew in the TV show "Highway Thru Hell".
I just use whatever smoke spray I get for free but I probably should get something better and yes I remove the low frequency sound are a few months ago it’s been gone for a few tests as it wasn’t very realistic because it’s not a sleeping area
Yeah I would like to try it out see if it’s any better not sure what the differences between them all I know is the A10 does not work so good on my detectors
@@Earth_Number_12 I won’t be putting one in there it does not make sense I don’t mess with the system like that as it’s not for demonstration really but i could with the demo system though
It wouldn't be possible the system would not function with how the system is set up and wired not to mention even if it did it would be a huge downgrade

i love the snowy weather
I would recommend doing the annual test in the summer. 😀 If you got a white Christmas I'm jealous ours was wet, rainy, and dreary
I wanted to do the test for the first day of 2022 but yeah it’s better to do them in the summer if you have to go outside
Hey, don't be surprised he got snow, it snows every year in Canada, and I don't live there, but I do know this fact
Happy New Year!! Awesome test
Awesome Test for a Brand New Year of 2022!!
I collected fire alarms since…
May 2020 ✨
Kewl video I love fire alarms so much now.
Cool system. Happy new year!
Thanks happy new year to you too
Happy new year, man! Love the nice nice white snow. We don’t get that much snow down in the south area of the US.
Thanks happy new year to you too
Here in Terre haute Indiana we have no snow yet… if we will get any
awesome system test! loved it :D really looking forward to next video! - have you heard of the c-tec cfp fire panels?
Thanks no I have not heard of those panels
@@nics-systems-electric Happy New year 2022
@@nics-systems-electric yeah you probably wont of heard of them since there conventional panels in the uk
@@firealarmguy yeah thats right i only heard of them a few weeks ago

Yeah we have it The electrician I do fine I’m testing with got mad at the extending thing and smashed it off on a table lol
@@nics-systems-electricOh wow they must have been pretty mad.
Yes

I could see wanting something like that to keep people calm but at the same time feel like people would ignore that and not take it seriously.
Nice! Do you plan on getting any gamewell century pull stations?
Nope never thought about them I’ve never even seen one in person
@@nics-systems-electric all my school has is gamewell century’s and Wheelock 7002Ts also Wheelock as’s
@@nics-systems-electric they are rare to find I once found some in a airport
You should use smoke sabre to test your smoke detectors
good testing. Glad to see everything is working
Is there any ducts in your shed? if there is then I would put a duct detector there.
Nope no ducts The closest thing would be the bathroom fan but that is just a flexible duct

Honestly I wonder if you got a bad batch of that SOLO stuff.
Maybe
3:06 try solo A4 also, is that real smoke or fake smoke?, i really want to know how they put smoke in a can
It's fake smoke
Well, next year you will have more devices to test because of the generator building and the new shed!
True
How about giving Solo A4 a try, that stuff works really well, you are using Solo A10, which is different
Yeah I would like to try it out see if it’s any better not sure what the differences between them all I know is the A10 does not work so good on my detectors
@@nics-systems-electric I feel like Solo A10 is for detectors with a higher sensitivity, and Solo A4 is meant for most detectors

Hell yeah he’s awesome

Can you put the low frequency Sounder In the bathroom
