Karlach going “can we go to bed now” at 6:35 and sounding like she’s about to cry was such good voice acting. It’s easy to forget sometimes but the worst part of her time in the hells was that it was 10 years utterly bereft of kindness, friendship, and any kind of positive attention. Having someone even pat her on the back after she got out would’ve been a daydream, but she gets her wildest dream come true.
If it was me I’d be drinking fire resist potions daily just so I can give her a hug and tell her I’m proud of her. She can date Wyll (they’re perfect for each other) and I can be her hype woman 😂
Come to think of it, that sounds like a reference to the "Absence of God" interpretation of Hell. Simply feeling that absence of love and warmth is considered to be worse than any physical torture.
It's nice to know that a tall, strong woman can be just as much of a sapphic disaster as I am. I don't feel as embarrassed by gay panic knowing Karlach would be doing the same thing

Usually Larian doesn't make DLCs, but they do make extra content for free (like the 4 relics of Rivellon and the Bag of Gifts from Divinity Original Sin 2)
Why is everyone simping over Shadowheart? I didn't like her ever since the first time we meet her. She is always passive aggressive and she wants to make BG great again by putting illegal githyanki out of border. Karlach though, is not racist, not secretive, eager to help people and can crush me with her legs. She is clearly the correct option

If you're a neutral-to-good-aligned character, you should have no problem getting her to open up to you where you discover that there is a very good reason beyond her control (at least initially) for it all, and when it comes down to it she's actually a sweetheart that got the short end of the stick, herself, not entirely unlike Karlach - although Karlach was at least aware of it. My first full playthrough had me play a Paladin; I wound up romancing Karlach (naturally!) while having to reject Shadowheart's attentions (to her dismay), instead taking Shadowheart under my wing where she comes to respect my character as a BFF and mentor-figure. Add Astarion to the mix who is surprised that he can count a Paladin as his staunchest ally and always has his back regardless of him being a bloodsucking vampire and that's my initial party. It's really well-written, from my perspective.

I was so annoyed--I was romancing Karlach because she's awesome, fixed her Engine, but then the scene at 8:58 *never* triggered because completely unrelated scenes triggered every time I tried to rest instead. And then there was never any dialogue option to try again, or reaffirm a relationship...she just approaches at the start of act three and says "well, I thought we had something, but it fizzled out". What? No! Nothing fizzled! Karlach pls!
I had this issue but I was able to get it to trigger by travelling to Last Light Inn and then doing a long rest, talk to her, then long rest again. It wasn't triggering if I did the long rest anywhere else, no matter how many times I did a long rest back to back, she just never had any new dialogue or anything until I did it at the inn.
I had the same thing with Lae’Zel. In dialogue options it says that we had a fling but nothing ever happened. Then, in Act II she finally came over and it was like the rocky fanfare music playing in my head

I've hit the end of act 2 and went up to karlach at camp and she says she feels like things are cooling off and can't capture lightning in a bottle, did i mess up somehow? I gave one piece of infernal iron to the blacksmith guy at the druid home and the last light in, have had Karlach with me the whole time and have talk to her at every chance.
Sometimes scenes from other companions when you rest at camp can ruin it. Not sure why, but it happened to me too. Sadly gotta go back and try again. >.< Gotta make sure all other companions are dealt with before romancing Karlach I guess.

Just continue. I made a few choices which with hindsight I would not have, but it made the next playthrough more interesting.
