Thank you for posting, visited all of the beaches just a few weeks ago in celebration of the 75th Anniversary and to pay respect to all the men shown in this video. Strange thought though i'd might even been at one of these man's grave too...
Thank you for sharing these great videos. I'm a WW2 video fan and love these type. These videos show how the GIs lived as they fought there way to Berlin. Love these! Paul from Orange, Ma. USA
Happy soldier is captured soldier.
I look at these videos very closely, especially the men's faces; I'm looking for the young faces of the men I knew growing up. I haven't spotted any but I still search.
Heartrending to see the Paras chutes not opening and them falling to certain death
Running, even walking with all those coats on in what appears to be warm weather!
Take a look at all those parashoots that did not open, as those men came down to there death,
God bless all.
They are supply drops, all are containers not men. The shoot failure was higher because the entire load dropped from the bomb bay at the same time.
@@TheMish65 You may Be right , BUT they should not be travelling @ 150MPH
3:20 look at plane on the right, bottom right guy can’t open the parachute and went down fast, and the guy on his left opened up the parachute and it snapped and also went down fast. 😧🤭
They're supply parachutes with metal supply containers under them. Thankfully you're not witnessing anyone die here. You seem them later at 4:12
These guys were tough ,
The chutes you see not opening are supply bundles not men, thank God. But men's chutes not opening does happen.
Six of them.
At 2:40-3:00 two separate chutes got entangled w other parachutes resulting in casualties for sure!
supply drop not men
Two didn't opened.
Is it a German Panther at 06:51?
2:42 Two paratroopers plunged to their death when their parachute didn't fully deployed.
They're supply parachutes with metal supply containers under them. You seem them later at 4:12 being loaded.
Those German troops look glad to surrender. Unlike their captors, who have nearly a further year, to put their lives at risk.
What’s disturbing about this Para drop is some of them chutes are not deploying....it looks like a few are falling to their deaths
They are supply containers, no troops in the drops.
Recommended Speed = 1.5 (looks more natural).
16mph as common convoy speed. They took their time.
Check out 2:45 ...I just witnessed a paratrooper fall to his likely death, parachute collapsed. Wow!!
Or maybe they're just resupplying ammo
Looked like a supply drop. The chutes all came out to quickly to be men.
As far i can see that are british Short Sterling bombers, which were used for transportation and supply drops after Lancasters were available.
They were all containers.
i did count 3 of them !
Looks like quite a few deaths by paratroopers. I counted at least 10.

7:58, German troops training for the 1,000 meter surrender.
