I was today years old when I discovered George Raft was also a dancer! I only remember him in gangster films like Scarface. Glad I came across this channel.

I couldn't believe it myself. He is always a gangster to me. He looks like valentino here but wo valentine's smoldering sensuality

Raft was amazing and I am enjoying rediscovering him again! Have a bio of him that I bought in 1968 in high school! Seeing him in full costume is a treat...love how he snubbed out that cig before starting the dance!!!

By the way, I have it on good authority that he moved every other part of his body just as well. Ask Carole Lombard for one. LOL

I have read that when asked who the best lover in Hollywood was, the unanimous reply was, George Raft and I believe it. He was sex on a stick.

Not really a friend gave me this one. You have to check out places where you can buy them and ask questions. When I am stuck I re-edit mine as best as possible. It can be tedious and a long process but necessary for me.

@@marganamaurer It is sporadic not a definite thing. I always help others when I can I guess it just goes around. BTW I have the whole movie of Rumba on my other YT Channel for George Raft maybe you would like to see it? It's been there for 2 yrs plus more of George's movies. Here's the link to his channel ua-cam.com/channels/ThnWwV7GvnG9Z_cLzL5R0Q.html and a direct link to the movie ua-cam.com/video/ySSvvwhb-zM/v-deo.html

His toosh is amazing! :-) I would love to see his legs. Nice body for a white boy. The lady is curveless. Someone as voluptuous as May West should have been his dance partner. I only saw George Raft act in gangster roles in the movies until I recently discovered he could dance. He's a Classic!

Raft was a natural athlete. He was a boxer in his youth. He his a sinuous quality in his dancing. As far as the woman, I think she’s perfect in this dance. Her lithe body is perfect for this dance sequence. If Mae West or a type like her had been used it would have turned into a farce.

Sorry but I am a dancer and this is a Rumba done by George Raft choreography for this movie. Try this link for the difference in the rhythm the Rumba has a faster beat than the Samba. George is dancing to the Rumba beat ua-cam.com/video/Y7qTtjQ5veo/v-deo.html

Sorry, Raft was a mediocre dance, at best! He was wise to switch to gangster roles.

Raft was a professional dancer before he got into movies. He could do it all including tap dancing. And no one could do the Tango like George. His ballroom dancing was non pareil. Watch Fred Astaire and you will see the same dance moves. George was the best at what he did plus he had sex appeal which is something Astaire and Kelly lacked.

@@maureenlumino3906 Gene Kelly had a body and sex appeal. I must admit though, I do crush on George Raft, he had sex appeal in spades. Sigh...
