I’m a huge Red Sox fan, and Pedroia is one of my favorite players of all time. But there’s no way he’s a Hall of Famer. He certainly would have been had his career not ended for all intents and purposes by age 32.
I think Ichiro would be in HOF with 96%-100% votes in 2025.
He was already the best contact hitter in baseball history since he was 20 years old. He spent his first two years in the NPB minor league right after graduating high school. He came up to the NPB big league at 20 years old and hit .385 13HR 54RBI with 210 hits (NPB season hit record at that time) in 1994. Then he hit .342 25HR 80RBI in 1995 when he was 21. In 1996 he hit .356 17HR 84RBI.
If he came to MLB in 1996 (22 years old) or 1997(23 years old) instead of 2001, he would still hit around 200-230 hits and hit .320-.350 in his rookie year. He would've been hitting 200 hits for at least 4 or 5 more consecutive years. he would've had 4000 MLB hits and 700 SB, his lifetime BA in MLB would be around .315-.320 instead of .311.
It’ll be a shame if he isn’t in with 100% of the vote for what he did in baseball.
Bobby Abreu > Ichiro
Ichiro is first ballot. It's the baseball HOF. His Japan stats need to be counted.
Baseball should have a special section for people that get in 1st/2nd ballot.
Dustin? I thought his name was peewee?
Adding on to my previous comment, I agree that Utley should at least be on the ballot. I just feel like Jimmy Rollins deserves to be in the same conversation. He’s an MVP as well as champion. His average is 11 points below Utley but Rollins has more hits. Also, Rollins has more black type. He has a gold glove, silver slugger, multiple all star years and I add that he led the league in triples 4 different times. What about leading in PA’s, runs, and games played? You want a league leader in SB? He’s got too.
3, maybe 4 gat in next year. I don’t see Wagner being left out again. Ichiro is one a question of whether he is unanimous or not. Sabathia likely will. Andrew Jones may or may not.
Ichiro better be unanimous!!! IJS!
I disagree if Willie Mays and Babe Ruth the 2 best players ever weren’t unanimous than nobody should be
They put up a graphic, but didn’t hammer the point. Sabathia is the 3rd ever left hander in the 3,000 K club. That’s insane! CC’s gotta get in, first try.
Ichiro should be unanimous but so should have willy mays and cal ripken and... well many others so who knows what these jokers are thinking
Why is Jimmy Rollins not ahead of Utley?
Andruw Jones needs to be in.
agree'd he played one of the hardest positions in the game and had a ridiculous amount of gold gloves
@@ChrisP-in8qr Indeed. When players refer to him as the best. Either he or Willie Mays, deserving. Guy also has 434 HRs.
He was a poor offensive player he hit .300 or over once
Is Felix a hall of famer is your guys eyes?
Is Ryan Howard HOF worthy
No
Nope, neither him or utley
Lol, not even remotely close.
I agree on Ichiro. some guys its just sour grapes because that player hurt their teams... or snubbed them... Still, if Pete Rose can't get in (rule put in place after the fact).. does anybody really deserve it more? For me.. until Pete is in.. the HOF is a sham... and the group that makes the rules for enshrinement.. guys.. You have the biggest racist in baseball every enshrined... Guys who cheated constantly.. but you consider new cheating bad... hypocrisy at it finest.
Agree.
Ty Cobb was actually well-known to not be racist, if that’s who you’re talking about. Those stories about him were all made up by a writer and somehow made their way into the public consciousness.
@@TG-ld8hl Ty was a nasty piece of work.. but racist? I have no clue.. now, Kenesaw Mountain Landis.... Everything I've read, he singled handedly kept blacks out of baseball through his death (and it's no coincidence that Jackie showed up a year after his death).... Ty, he was a nasty one and had no problems hurting other players.. I would take that everyday over the commish from 100 years ago...
@@ronpeacock9939 yessir. Ty Cobb was a mean motherfucker on the field, but by all accounts was actually accepting of black players and wanted them to join the MLB. Landis, on the other hand… 🤣 Jesus Christ was he a stone-cold piece of shit
Hall of fame is getting watered down because writers are letting their personal feelings and bias affect the way they vote.
Tinker. Evers. Chance. The writers whims have always been all over the map. You should learn the history before you say something that stupid.
If Roy Halladay doesn’t die in 2019, is he even in to this day, never mind being in first ballot? They have several times in the past.
If you dont get in the first ballot, you are not a hall of famer. It should be 90% or more.
So DiMaggio shouldn’t be in the hall? He wasn’t 1st ballot
@@jackstretch3235 Really?? Why???
@@jackstretch3235yup got in on his 4th ballot actually 😂
Vlad Sr is a hall of famer he got in his second year
