- Ukrainian forces showed off three tanks they captured after retaking control of Lukyanivka, a village 60 kilometers east of Kyiv, from the Russian Army. RFE/RL journalists visited the village on March 27, three days after what a resident said was fierce fighting.

Not a good sign, when your enemy comes out of a battle with more tanks than they went in to it with.

Politicians always serve their own interests, however no revolution can change that. The only figure in history I can think of who acted in the interest of his country rather than what would make himself wealthy/loved is Ataturk.
There will be change though. Starmer is a far more electable labour candidate than Corbyn, as he’s more centrist. Young people almost all support the left, so the Conservatives will die out with the older generation, so eventually we might gain a competent government. For now I suppose, be thankful that the worst party that can realistically be in power already is, and they’re not infringing on LGBT rights like in Poland, closing down independent media like in Hungary, or doing any of the very long list of terrible things Putin is guilty of.
Large violent revolutions never end well, especially if they don’t have sweeping popular support. I’d rather suffer under a temporary bad government than see thousands die in a war just for the same morons to be elected afterwards.

I'm so proud of the Ukrainians, I went to school with alot of them after they immigrated after the Berlin wall came down and the Soviet Union was resolved. They are amazing people very humble and would give you their shirt off there back. I'm an American, and very happy to have met so many nice and hard working Ukrainians. In the book/movie 'Into Thin Air' about a failed and deadly attempt at climbing Everest, .... the toughest climber on the large team was a Ukrainian, who went out in a deadly blizzard at night - to try to rescue others. He could have stayed in a base camp.

I do not think Russia even thought for a moment these people would fight for their homeland. They remember Soviet occupation, they remember all the conflicts in which the Ukraine was invaded and treated badly. They said NO MORE, and proved they love their nation, and I do feel for the Russian soldiers who don't want any part of this.
Every ukrainian fighter, be it pro or volunteer, I see interviewed seems so confident and capable. And even more so as the war goes on. That must be a good sign.
