Remember when minecraft was a fun pc game that only ever required the initial purchase and every mod and server was free, then it came to console and mobile and it was still only the initial purchase... I miss that.

@@mentalchild360every aspect of the Switch version has gotten worse since it came out. Performance has tanked, the UI has been bloated up to take up too much screen space, swapping skins is a pain in the neck, worst of all you straight up can't pause in single player anymore even if you put the system in sleep mode the game just keeps running anyway

@@lagoozri9568 What do you mean "used to be free"? I don't recall the marketplace ever being free at any point in time. If you play Java, absolutely nothing has changed, it is still run the same way as it was 14 years ago, and it gets the same amount of updates, if not more due to snapshots.

This is for the Switch version, not pc or Java. If you can play it on those supported systems without cost, then do it. It’s not new. The marketplace has paid stuff in it all the time, offers free stuff too. This’s for players to pay a sub fee for stuff that individually would cost more. Those that play on Switch would like it more stable but are used to bedrock mods costing $. If you can play without paying on other systems, then great… go play those systems. No one’s forcing you to play on Switch, and if you are playing on Switch, it’s optional. You don’t have to pay the subscription if you don’t want to.

edit: also remember that the creators who actually _made_ these mods (y'know, the content) will not be the ones getting the majority of the money. so microsoft isn't just charging you for something that is free on most other platforms, not only are they choosing to add paid content to a game you already paid for, but they didn't even make the content they are making you pay THEM for 🙃 i'm literally on my knees begging you, playing bedrock is not self care

Making a subscription is not the best idea,especially for skins and "mods" when mods are free for Java. It's already causing the downfall of many other games and their companies

Make the game actually work on switch first, please! Last time I played the game (when the last update released), the game was practically unplayable in a world with a decent amount of stuff built (like the inventory was super laggy and the cursor would even lag when trying to select something, it was awful)
Doesn't really matter to me much anymore as I'm done with MC and will only return after 4-5 years but still, for the people who are playing, make the game actually decent on switch lol

This is basically the Minecraft version of what Bethesda constantly tries to do. Though I feel more people will fall for this scam then they do with the other “pay for stuff you can get for free” tactics.
