Glad you got home safe and sound, thank you for taking us with you on your Euro Trip.I was so interested to see what happened going through the tunnel .
Super vlog! Funnily enough I have just carried out the same costing excercise for our recent European trip as we were interested to know how much in the end we spent on tolls and vignettes etc ... we are hoping to include Luxembourg on our next trip to Europe somewhere we have never been. We are at the NEC on the Friday so we will look out for you to say hello 😊
I feel kind of sad your trip is over, I really enjoyed following you around Europe. Jenny you're so organised and informative with the funding, you've given me some useful tips. Looking forward to your NEC videos.
Hi bob and Jenny great review of your trip I think u done well the cost side of your trip it cheaper than I thought consider how much travelling u done videos were great so well done to both of u all the best .kev
Hi Bob really enjoyed this series, thanks for sharing your trip.May see you in the NEC. We will be there on the 16th.Thanks again an good luck with sleeping in your curtesy car!!!!lol
Great vlog guys brilliant overview of the trip, looking forward to you NEC coverage we can’t make it this year so will be relying on the youtubers coverage.
Well done guys ,very precise costs, and looked a good trip apart from the damage to the van! Totally with you on next year waiting to see what changes may happen with Brexit we too take our German Shepherd with us, so not booking any ferries just yet ,but planned a sneaky trip to Xmas markets in Bruge before new year Take care guys and safe travels!
Just realised that we shall be at Somers Wood at same time (accidental as we are not going to NEC). Do look us up if you have time - "standard" equipment of 714SB and two Westies!! We have used your site reviews to advantage (Durham Grange, Knaresborough, NY Moors) but would be nice if you could include a comment or two about walking (and disabled friendly) proximity and access to walks, shops and pubs. More useful to us than tours of the facility block really. Hope to see you there for a quick natter! Barry, Sue, Archie & Dusty.
Thanks for your comments, we've been to Somers Wood a few times now. The shops are a short drive away in the village. Think this was a better review about dog walks. ua-cam.com/video/H_7J2UyDxmk/v-deo.html
Thanks but perhaps my "comment" not clear/misunderstood. I was suggesting that for ANY future site review, it would be nice to have your thoughts on WALKABLE access to walks, shops etc (particularly for the disabled/mobility limited) as this information is not always provided by the club books/websites. eg lack of steps, all-weather surfaces to paths and dog walks. Also safe walking or otherwise on local lanes with dogs and/or wheel chairs or mobility scooters.
Well done guys on an insightful and informative video. Really interesting to learn of the overall costs involved with the detailed analysis. Sorry to hear and see the damage to your motorhome and hope that can be fixed soon. Good plan to avoid Europe next year until it’s clear what’s what post Brexit. Thanks again 👍🏻
Hi Jenny Bob really enjoyed the vlogs Jenny did really well with all the maths of the costs for the trip 👏 also great filming by you bob we live in Derbyshire and the Peak District is a beautiful place to visit hope all goes well with the van keep us all informed look forward to your future travels 👍👍👍
Bob & Jenny, I came across the 2018 Euro trip France pt 19, look exciting. I’m searching for the beginning of Euro trip pt1. Your review video is informative and a joy to watch. It is now 2022, I would like to plan trip but don’t know with the Covid restrictions. This is a lot to ask 😀 and curious to know, Suppose you scheduled a camping tour of North America (USA or CANADA) traveling from UK in a motorhome. What route, ship, train etc etc would you map out or suggest? Jenny seems to be a PRO with planning & monies 🤷♀️👍. Any suggestions and advice would be appreciated.
Late reply folks......this was such an informative vlog,Jenny you worked so hard on satisitcs for us all x prices etc 👍 I so enjoyed every vlog, the comments say it all 👌. Await my n e c tour ......thank you so much lovely people ❤👋
Sat Navs are a love them or hate them type thing, what I will say is, for last 6 months I have been using Apple Maps (no everyone’s favourite) which uses TomTom for its traffic updates. All I can say is it was unbelievably accurate even on minor routes.. it collects traffic movement from peeps mobile phones, it tracks mobiles anonymously. So when they start slowing up or stopping TomTom gets the GPS data. Unfortunately there isn’t an announcement the routes changes colour and your eta changes. How it works in Europe I don’t know because TomTom need to get the data from the mobile phone providers. Other SaNav use TMC which is subscription based and was the old Trafficmaster, you see the sensors on bridges.
Hi Jenny & Bob - interesting catalogue of costs here. I’m guessing you were using propane gas cylinders rather than refillable LPG. How much do you think you used on this trip? Realise you were using site showers & eating out a fair bit, which would reduce consumption of your bottled gas. But a likely estimate would help us plan for whenever we manage to cross over to the continent. Thanks.
We were away for two weeks in the summer so I imagine very little gas was used. We always took two full bottles abroad if we could, but can't remember how much we used. Never ran out.
Hi. Another excellent video. I thought I had watched all of your euro trip videos but I seemed to have missed the one of the damage to your motor home. When and where did it Happen? Looking forward to your next trip. Regards Joan
Yes Luxembourg 🇱🇺 is a lovely Country. We went to Trier by train 🚞 and stayed at the top Hotel 🏨 there ! Thoroughly enjoyed Luxembourg 🇱🇺 and Trier in Germany 🇩🇪. The Germans came to Luxembourg 🇱🇺 in the Hotel daily. The Germans call Luxembourgans Blockheads!
Thankyou both for that. Have you tried Google maps live? We use that and it's really great. It finds where you are and directs you away from any snare ups etc. Also can I put a request in for when you go to the NEC please. We are looking to change our cvan in a few years for a small (ish), motor home. Any advise on two berth either fixed single or bunks that we don't have to make up at night please. Also nothing any taller than our caravan as we need to get it past the bungalow and we need to watch the overhang. Sorry to be a pest. Nice to see Tarra happy to be home. I bet she'll be besides herself when she sees her mum again. Thanks. 😁👍
That may be a problem as most coachbuilt Motorhomes are taller than caravans. A two berth layout we like is the new Swift Compact C402. If height us an issue you probably need to look at pop up roof camper vans.
Hi Bob and Jenny i hope you don't mind me saying but you guys are truly inspirational my wife and I have been watching your journeys since July and we now have the motorhome bug and we are off to the NEC in a few weeks to see what's what, we will be armed with the knowledge you guys have shared over many vlogs, but we can still not decide what motorhome we will buy, we have narrowed the list down but my lord what a choice. I have a question for you both, if you could choose a replacement for your loyal Bolero what would you choose?, anyway many thanks again and please keep posting, you are by far the most informative couple on the tube.😁
We've found the layout we like, taken us about 10 years mind you, so a similar layout like the Swift Bessacarr 574, or similar layout from Adria, Hymer, and particularly interested in Chausson on Fords.
I know on one of your vlogs of a motorhome show you liked a Delaware s single bed mid bathroom auto trail but they are a wee bit pricey, any way I will leave you to your evening but thank you anyway
We went to the pyranees a 3week round trip at a cost of £4300 in total so you didn't do to bad , cheaper fuel but expensive tolls ,I wonder why we don't charge when people come over to the UK?
Excellent video as usual Many thanks. When we had a dog we had her chipped and a passport ready for Europe. Circumstances changed so we won’t need the system. (Sorry for the late reply-couldn’t find it on the phone from where I can comment). To continue; I fancied Morocco and bought various books from Vicarious Books including one where a young couple toured almost permanently with their dog (Visas permitting) so I sent a text as to how. Turns out they got to Spain using “our” system then whilst in Spain they used their system which allows Moroccan visits and returns after the usual 3 week wait. It would seem to me to be an almost global system. What, you may ask has this to do with Brexit? Well, if it’s as universal system as this example indicates, how could they, the powers that be justify altering it? In any event as of today no-one seems to know what will happen after March next year or two years later if they allow an extension. I’ve not read any of the 356 pages of the document (who has) but no-one has mentioned anything about dogs. Maybe if we say nowt and they say nowt then nowt will change. I’m beginning to think that the longer Brexit goes on, the more useless this government looks, Left, Right, and Whatever. Sorry if I’m ranting. Noel
loved follwing your euro tour big thanks for taking us along with you
It was good to come with you on holiday, pleased we had an edited version. Thanks for sharing the pants shortage problem.
Yes, you can never have too many pairs on a Euro Trip.
Thanks again for documenting such a great looking trip. I know this must be a wonderful resource for the community of vanners, etc.
Glad you got home safe and sound, thank you for taking us with you on your Euro Trip.I was so interested to see what happened going through the tunnel .

Thanks for that, we're sad too it's over. Somers Wood next week ready for the NEC show.
Don’t forget to factor in the tour de yorkshire next summer, they say it will be bigger .
Thanks, yes we could use a Tour de Tour de Yorkshire Route. Lol.
Cracking video you two. Loved the tour and now the review. Looking forward to your NEC vlogs. Will miss Tara too lol ;))
Thanks, Tara will be with us at the end of month, trying to find a quiet spot away from the fireworks.

I’m going to be picking your brains for planning my trip to France next year !!! Excellent series of videos, well done Bob
I be doing the same trying to plan trip to Italy next year
Really useful roundup and cracking set of videos. I would need a budget for Haribo sweets and Sue’s would be Belgian Chocolates 👍🏻😂😂
Thanks, still got our chocs!

Best shops small Tesco plus usual ones at Balsall Common 5 min drive or if
Bigger shop ..large sainsbury in Dorridge 10-15 mins away

If your going to yorkshire next year, York and Whitby is worth a visit for sure
We went to Whitby last year, really enjoyed it. Have a look for our North East video.

Planning a trip like that would take weeks. If we ever did plan a trip like that we would certainly do a video on it, but we aren't.
Interesting video. You both look knackered. What's that funny thing on your right wrist?.
Thanks, we were. That's a remote control for the GoPro camera. Funnily enough I didn't need it as we did the whole video in one take.

When I had Co pilot on my phone I always found that the phone rang at the vital moment and I lost the sat nav.
No answer to that one

Great series as usual. What sort of lead time for parts? Steve from Happy Travellers waited around 3 weeks for his lock cover
Thanks, probably about 14 days, after the OK from insurance.
not to bad then
