    Hi Alex, that pond will be great for skating on! Looks like we have the same wooded trees. And always a mess to clean up especially in these beautiful snow covered scenes. I am glad I got my implements changed over before the weather changed :). Have a good weekend.

      Hey Ross, yeah I don't have a nice garage that fits the cab unfortunately, one day! Darn freezing rain. We are so close I wouldn't doubt the forest composition is very similar. Have a great weekend!

    Alex, it looks like a winter wonderland, but there definitely is work that goes along with it!

      It sure does! But when everything is frozen what a pain in the butt to work on things!!

    So beautiful when the trees are covered. We'll be getting some rain this weekend so the trees will lose the Xmas charm 🥲.Can't wait to see the Xmas wreath 👍🏻. Have a great weekend Alex 🙋🏼‍♂

    Man that is a beautiful spot you have there Alex. Love that you have a pond.
    I to left things a bit late this year but we have no snow yet. I’ll be installing my snow plow blade on the quad and the snowblower on the Kubota next week. Everything is extra hard when it’s cold! Thanks for the video and have a great weekend. Cheers, Mike.

      Thanks Mike. Splitting my time between house renos and outside work. Perhaps I procrastinated a little too much oops! Have a great weekend.

    Good morning Alex ☕️, the icy snow does look magical on the trees, very festive, but it is hard on them. Loved the drone footage and we enjoyed the walk around with you. Thanks so much for the mention. I got the shelving idea from Brock @Rockhill farms. Have a great weekend, Ben 🎄🎅❄️☃️❄️❄️🚜👍

    Surprise hahaha. We are always hoping it doesn't show up. Still beautiful though. Might be a good opportunity to mark some trees for removal. Take care.

      Hey Kenny, not a bad idea! We don't get hit as hard as you guys do most of the time though. Have a great weekend!

    Good morning Alex, when we got the storm my 1st thought was hope that your Christmas tree and fruit tree farm doesn't get damaged. The ice and snow on the trees does look magical but it's so destructive. The pond makes me want to go skating. You are so right it's dangerous to walk in the bush with so much overhanging above you. Those rear ports where a little stubborn. The ice storm of 98, in the bush it sounded like glass chandeliers crashing on marble flooring and the ground cracking and popping like an earthquake. About how much maple syrup sap do you collect from the trees you tap? Have a good one!

      Morning Paul, I remember just the ice storm we had in April, I had to clear broken pine branches just to drive up to the house and they just kept breaking, I was pretty uneasy that time!! Can't imagine '98 (I was in Qc City at that time and we got a TON of snow). Xmas trees look OK, had to suspend sales until it melts, hopefully today and tomorrow. Fruit trees are still small enough they should bounce back! For the sap last year I had a weird schedule so only produced ~15L of syrup and stopped but 50 taps on a good day can easily fill a 55 gallons barrel. It's nice to sit by a roaring fire and spend time with my dad while boiling! Have a great weekend Paul!

    Hope your trees have all melted off with the rain and warmth over the last 2 days. I was in the bush yesterday and got soaked from the ice melting off!
    I have the same tractor and am planning to replace my 30 year old 72” crank snowblower. Are you happy with that Kubota blower? I believe they are made by RAD Teck in Qc. I’m debating between that K74-24-09 and the MK Martin 78” unit. With hydraulic rotation and spout, the Kubota is $800 more, but I’d like to buy the best option even if it’s a bit more money. Did you consider the Martin blowers or other brands like Pronovost, and if so, I’d be curious what made you decide on the Kubota/RAD brand.
    Thanks in advance and have a great day!

      Hello! Things were indeed meeting off yesterday! Good question. For one, I love the cab and the hydraulic rotation and surprisingly the up down function as well. As to the brand I am not sure who makes the Kubota branded implements. As for the brand decision, I had to go with what the dealer was offering as the implement was thrown in the financing for the $0 down 0% interest and that was the only option available in stock before winter hit (peak Covid times).

    • @profdave2861
      @profdave2861 8 місяців тому +1

      @@brokenpinesfarm Getting zero percent financing - and for that matter even getting a tractor and blower - during Covid is good reason to go with the whatever brand it is! For the record, the K74-24-09 is definitely made by RAD Tech in Qc. They make most of the Kubota Canada snowblowers, and RAD also makes blowers for New Holland (maybe others). The also sold under the private names BerVac and Blizzard, but I don’t know if they still do.
      Are you happy with the blower and how it works with your L4060? Any issues with performance or reliability?

    • @brokenpinesfarm
      @brokenpinesfarm  8 місяців тому +1

      Nope no concerns, it works very well, does the job. If the snow is a bit wet and heavy it's more the tractor struggling than the blower itself. Very satisfied. Beats my 24" Craftsman found on the side of the road ha!
