the first book was in a strange way a comforting read because the risks weren't super high and it was a formula i was used to, the second book felt the same way until about 75% of the way through and then it took some historic liberties that i reeeeally didn't like so it ruined the entire ending of the book. will i finish this series just for thomas? yes i will.

Reading actually reduces stress by around 68%! It reduces stress more than taking a walk, video games and even having a cup of tea. Lol I am doing a research paper on reading, can you tell? 😁

I agree with you on why I like the Jack the Ripper series and not knowing why. It feels very weirdly like, a slice of life story? But with murder ? It’s not incredibly fast paced , but easy to follow and Just going with the flow lmao!?

After I saw your vlogs going to cafes and reading I also started doing it! Be it a physical book or on my phone it’s really fun! It helps me actually read the book because god help me I don’t do reading at home at all. I watch videos instead🧍♀️

i genuinely hate the third book (and this is my favorite series probably ever). but i love the fourth one though, there’s a ‘twist’ that makes you feel “that did not just happen…” but if you’re there for the romance (just like me, ngl) you’d love the fourth book❤️

Lol read this as a teen and didn’t like it for exactly that reason: too many liberties taken with history and my very logical straightforward brain wanted a story to portray the times. I was that teenage girl investigating Jack the Ripper 😶🌫️

I'm glad it's not just me who thought the plot wasn't there with these books but still enjoyed them! I don't know why though, but I always read them super slow!

I didn't realize I was watching your reading channel until you mentioned lol I thought ooh a new Cari video to eat my early dinner with! Then I got an even better surprise, Bear and the Nightingale? One of my favorite books, and a favorite series. I don't know if you'll like it or not but I know your review will be so enjoyable :D I'm currently reading Murder Most Actual, a couple gets snowed in with a bunch of old weirdos in a Scottish castle-hotel and murder ensues. I'm hoping this couple resolves their fights soon I picked it up for a little bit of wlw romance along with the mystery T__T

I remember seeing the first book come out and I diffidently judged it based on its cover, and then later I saw it again with the second book next to it which intrigued me (I really love vampire stuff idk why) so I read the first book. The killer was so obvious that I didn't think it was them bc it was too obvious. I thought the first book was ok but i decided to read the next one bc I liked the characters. I think i read the second one in a day, and I really enjoyed it. The third was a fever dream and I forgot murders were happening and then when the murderer was revealed I was like oh yeah they were solving murders. (I actually really like the third one idk why ppl are mad about that one) The novella was really cute and something I needed. The last one was such a satisfying ending to the series. Came for the murder stayed for the romance. This series is just a fun romp with serial killers inspired by ones in real life with a really cute couple. I also cannot put into words why I love this series, but kerri maniscalo's kingdom of the wicked is a lot darker than i was expecting (did not know the second one was going to have smut bc someone put it in the YA section at my book store and when I looked it up later it said it was NA so someone messed up) but none the less I have been enjoying it and can't wait for the third book.

I honestly don't know if I'm going to be able to watch this video b/c SJTR is my comfort series and I will not survive any criticism you have 😅 I will happily eat a cinnamon roll in your honor though hehe
