I have this machine and here's my critique of it. It is best used for smaller needle grouping rl1-rl5 for lining. Great for soft shading. DO NOT RUN HIGHER THAN 8 VOLTS!!! You will burn out the motor. It's soft hitting.
My wife has the same machine. Looks like everyone agrees that it is best for regular use. Small needle count. Keep it at 8 or below. You can really feel it get over worked above 8.
YES! I geeked when I saw this! Thank you for going over this machine and even got the preferred It's so compact and the needles seem to do really well. Also appreciate all of the knowledgeable comments and look forward to more videos!!!!! I've been torn between this and cnc also.
I'm glad to see you review this setup I have been looking at this machine with the wireless setup and wasn't sure if it was a good machine or not thank you for the video excited to see you do a full tattoo with it thanks again for all your videos
I have this one I use it everyday, anything around a 7RL or up it has trouble with . And high voltage will kill it. Nice for small stuff. Looking to go up on the next machine . Hope for a bishop Wand but I have to wait a bit.
I guess I burned mine out. Had it less than 3 months!! Emailed company and was responded to quickly with a message saying to send a video I will fix for you” I guess we will see!
@@Dropsen1 I don't have much time these days, as i have been working the graveyard shift at a mill, but I have gotten to use it on a few spots, and even touched up one of my old stick and poke. What a great deal! It looks great and is super easy to use, wish it came with some test skin to practice on, but for the price this was a treat.
Just starting out with skins that big is awesome. I would suggest just putting a bunch of stencils on one letting it sit for awhile and then just start doing them the next day when the stencils are set. I know it's hard to wait but you can put a bunch of small/medium sized stencils on that and get a few hours of practice. I messed up when I first started because I didn't wait long enough to let the stencils set and I ended up rubbing them off and just messing up the design. But I was going to get that kit but I ended up going with some coil machines because thats what I wanted to learn on. I'm glad I did because I lobe coil machines for some reason and I've always wanted to learn with them.
ihas used coil gun 7 year and has 100-700$ guns and i buy first pen gun i fight all my coil gun to trash and used only pen gun last 3 year now. totally goil gun have big shit than pen gun.
I got one with 2 batteries I’ve used it for over a year that sob is a work horse I’ve worked it 12 hours straight done several sleeves I’ve lined 14 rl n used 23 mags shades like butter lol I’d buy another I will say I have dropped it a few times it just now starting to make a rattle sound just for a second every now and then but I love it
I will say that you have described this unboxing a very well and makes me want to get one thank you I'm old-school call machine top guy and I would like to try the pain Machining this is what I'm going to go for thank you
I like to bag first double the folded paper towel for a fatter grip as to use less cohesive tape and use the mast wireless battery as well as the power supply
Just bought the CNC we plus 😭 and after seeing your review, I want to send it back :/ was also considering buying the ava ep10, I just dont have the money like that right now
I have not reviewed that machine just yet. I maybe able to make that happen in the near future here. Bare with me and I will do my best to get this done.
Hey, just wanted to see if anyone has any answers. When I turn my pen on, it works but when I put the needle on, it seems to stop vibrating and the needle does not go up and down. What do you think could be the problem?
Question, is the needle vibrating or does it go in and out mine looks like it’s vibrating and I bought two they both look like vibrating not sure if they r considered garbage or what please help
Then again... Who knows. Maybe some distortion, echo, or reverb in a tattoo might look pretty cool 😂 There's a big trend of artists experimenting with fx pedals on different instruments like the harp... I've even seen a painter use them to control power to his airbrush. Making all kinds of wacky spray patterns and such. #DanielYuck 😉😆
Looking to buy my first machine. More than likely will buy this one, but I was curious about the wireless version of this. Anyone have any thoughts on it?
Just my opinion, but for your 1st tattoo machine look at the CNC Machines. CNC makes a really good solid machines at reasonable prices. Also, they have been improving their machines since they started. FYI I was torn between the mast and the CNC Q3 and I chose the Q3 as my 1at tattoo machine. I love it and am very glad that I bought it. Best of luck with what ever machine that you decide on.
I'm a beginner tattoo artist and I'm using this wireless machine. I am really happy with it but like the other comments say. Keep it at 8 or below so it doesn't overheat. All in all I am really happy with it, for it being my first tattoo pen
Excellent machine if used what it was designed for low voltage for semi permanent make up lip lines eye brows ect as a pro artist not very good for studio tattoo machine simply wouldn't handle constant use
Thank you very much Hiits! I appreciate you, your time and support! Don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions, I will assist you in the best possible direction.
I've used this maschine for lining, packing, shading and honestly i wouldnt recomend it. Any design bigger than the size of your palm will take a toll on this maschine. Also it tends to overheat after ~2 hours of use and its not very consistent. Btw 8 volts (the max volt recommended) is not very powerful, so bigger cartriges, 11RL or above, will be a challenge. Now as a back up maschine or for some lighter work (micro tattoos) it makes a lot more sense.
@@paulsichone799 I have this machine and I don't ever run it higher than 7.5 and use nothing over a 5 rl for lining and 9mag for shading. It hits to soft for real solid color packing. It can do as demonstrated but it will burn out if used outside the configurations I listed.

How long do you think it would last before it burns out ? Saying if you use it under 8 volts.

once the machine is completely sealed and wrapped, how do you adjust the needle ? like the amount of needle that comes out of the tube ?
Maybe a little late but I use the Dragonhawk Atom. One trick I learned is to tape/wrap the grip separately from the rest of the tattoo pen.

how long did it take for you to get your machine after you placed the order?
Lots of PMU artists love this machine for a first machine. My question is are the wireless batteries they have interchangeable with this machine?

In and out but it does it that fast it will appear to just vibrate, if its this model pen or the wireless its a decent enough liner/soft shader
Hello. Is dragon hawk mast good for beginners? I want to learn dotwork on fake skin or could you recommen something else?
Pretty sure I’m a little late but the Dragonhawk Atom is a pretty good tattoo pen to try out as well
With the connectors they used for the pedal you could probably use a guitar foot pedal. 😂
(Just an on/off switch... no special effects pedals. 😂 )
I never looked at it that way but now that I think about you may be right! haha Good eye.
